Even as an exol i have a hard time understanding d.o. and as this song was his last song before enlisting into military, i spent a lot of time listening to this while trying to understand the feelings behind it, why he chose this song, why he released it at that time or even why he always talks about health and being at peace with life and taking care of your loved ones etc. You can REALLY see he cares about those topics with the way he highlights those matters in most of his songs and speeches, he doesnt show a lot but he cares deeply. I marvel at that side of him a lot. I wish he shared more of his story, of his heart but he doesnt. And I guess that's okay too. (Idk, most of exo members are really private people anyways. I cant help but wonder)
Nadya! i wonder if they're private by choice or if it was a label policy? but omg this was the last song before going off to duty? that is sooo interesting. I can't lie, D.O. comes off a bit understated when I see him on these videos. like real calm energy. Yet I feel like there's so much going on in that head. and like you, I get curious on what some of those thigns are. If a biography ever came out about him, i'd cop it. hehe.
@@by9thplanet it surely is a company thing, but it differs from member to member, too. Some members want to share a lot (Kai, Chanyeol), some of them are selective sharers so they reveal in a calculated way (Baekhyun, Suho, Xiumin) and some of them are really reluctant (Chen, Sehun, D.O.). I have been following kpop for 10 years now so i had lots of chances to observe how the kpop companies operate. The term "idol" is really emphasized, so even if theyre not being %100 fake, its really common to hold off information. For exo, i see sincerity in their actions and that's all that matters to me.
@@Nadya4cuties that makes sense! I did notice that kpop idols seem to be branded in an old school way. very idolized, idealized, and all that. I like that. But i like the more accessible and human artists more. I love that we can have both depending on whatever the artist wants to be. and I never necessarily loved the idea that kpop labels are just having all their idols be one kind of idol only. But it is called "idols". so who cares what I think hahah.
@@by9thplanet what attracts me is authenticity, I think. I love it when people know what they want, who they are and what message they wanna share with the world. I used to hate the idea of idols because i dont like it when people are in it just for the money. I think nowadays I am more accepting of the reality that at the end of the day "it's just a job". I really have a lot to say but I feel like this comment section is mostly me yapping lol
Nadz, the fact that he wrote it himself just made this song like 5x more enjoyable to me. nothing against artists who don't have time to songwrite of course. but songs like this just hit different :o
Late for this, but thanks for reacting to Kyungsoo’s song! It’s one of my favorites from him. Soothing vocals, amazing gitar, engaging melody. It sounds easy, is easy to sing-along to, but…whenever you try to sing it alone, you realize how complex and difficult it is to hit those notes, with exactly the right amount of emotions and depths Kyungsoo has in his voice. His stage name was given my SM, and not something he made up himself. His real family name, as written on his military uniform, is DO Kyungsoo (도경수), so they just made it into D.O. (디오) in EXO. As an actor, and now solo artist, he uses a more western friendly version of his real name. I guess, to make it easier to pronounce right: Doh Kyung Soo.
Ironic how your next breakdown is this drop and the simplest form of song after our comments on the previous videos you did. A mic, a guitar and something to record it. Yeah, this was dope, and I didn't need to even understand anything this guy had to say in his song due to the language barrier. You just felt the gist of it in its raw form. Production wise, I know that capturing that state of consciousness is more involved and takes some setup but the idea is probably why I have a need to see something like this live and on stage or in a cramp studio where you can hear a pin drop.
Rio! you are one off the more pure enjoyers of music I know, fr. i sometimes listen to traditional music from languages that I don't speak and just find myself absolutely moved. now that you mention it, I really do enjoy live performances when it's music like this. not necessarily acoustic, but like really beautiful (as opposed to just dope or a banger). yaowwww, did u enjoy thanksgiving? did you cop anything for black friday?
thanks for commenting ^_^ my Corean is very basic (i stopped speaking when I was 4). And whenever i am able to understand Corean and I also read the subtitles, it is often very off hahaha. I imagine it's the same with more complex sentences that I cannot understand :p

its a healing song for me
D.O IS AMAZING TO WRITE THIS SONG INSPIRATIONAL FOR ME
i absolutely feel the same :]
DO’s voice and guitar are enough.♥️ And yeah, he wrote the lyrics to the song.😊

no Lee Mujin Service a gente consegue ter uma boa noção do que move Kyungsoo dentro da música e ouvi-lo cantando de um jeito que nos atinge profundamente;
