- Is this an act of rebellion? No, he just picked up the new Hellion! Brownells new product team captain Paul Levy walks us around a new variant of Springfield Armory's Hellion bullpup rifle. The rifle in Paul's hands has a 20" barrel, and you can also raise your Hellion with an 18" barrel. The 20-incher more closely resembles the original Croation VHS-2 rifle the Hellion is based on, complete with bayonet lug and the distinctive concentric ridges on the barrel that were part of the original's grenade launcher mounting system.
Due to its bullpup configuration, the 20" Hellion is an extremely well-balanced rifle. The balance point is just about at the pistol grip, which makes handling and manipulation easy and fast. Unusual for a bullpup rifle, there's a collapsible stock, so you can adjust the length of pull. The large, adjustable cheek riser makes shooting the Hellion extremely comfortable. Paul demonstrates the unique mag release system for us.
For you left-handed shooters, it's easy to configure the Hellion for left-side ejection. It comes with handy flip-up backup sights built into each end of the full-length M1913 Picatinny rail. Plenty of M-LOK® slots on the handguard for mounting a light and other accessories. The Hellion's ambidextrous charging handle resides UNDER the Picatinny rail and is easy to operate from either side of the gun.
Check out the positive, tactile and audible, operation of the safety selector! Mounting a sling is easy with pairs of QD sling swivel sockets on both sides of the stock and the front of the handguard. The gas system is adjustable, so you can tailor gas flow to specific ammunition or to a suppressor. The Hellion accepts most AR-15 pistol grips, though some grips with oversized beavertails may not fit.
Also new from Springfield Armory is their Model 2020 Rimfire rifle. This is the smaller sibling of the popular centerfire Model 2020 bolt action rifles. It's really designed for precision long-range shooting at .22 LR scale. The sturdy stock has traditional front and rear sling swivel studs. The bolt knob, safety, and trigger all operate very smoothly and positively. The Model 2020 Rimfire uses readily available Ruger® 10/22® magazines - no proprietary, model-specific mags to buy! The free-floating barrel has a threaded muzzle, thread cap included.
MDT's Oryx M-LOK® Bipod is lightweight yet VERY sturdy for a bipod with reinforced polymer construction. Operation is super intuitive. The legs fold forward along the rifle's forend. Just push down on them to extend them. The locking mechanism automatically engages and is easy to release when you need to fold up the legs and move on. There are 5 leg-height positions, and the Oryx is adjustable for cant, too.
Is somebody in the warehouse or shipping missing a folding pocket knife?
I found one in my recent order. It's a Kershaw Shuffle II with Tanto blade in Tan and Black. The pocket clip is missing and it appears to be thoroughly worn out. It has a dull blade, mild rust, loose screws and looks pretty beat up.
He or she should use this opportunity to purchase a new EDC knife because I think this one needs to be retired. It's a ~$30 disposable knife anyway so I doubt its worth returning but still worth mentioning. I'm just going to give it to my neighbor who makes Damascus blades. Surely he can repurpose it somehow.
Oddly enough, last week I found a Gerber in our Chewy order. I'll be concerned if a third knife suddenly appears at the end of its life cycle. I don't want my home turning into a graveyard for old blades!
Stay classy my friends.
You sir, are and honest man....this is going above and beyond. Salute🫡
Poor guy is getting his fingerprints all over hot knives 😢
Weird.
Glad to see companies making something new and different and not just another boring AR-15
Standalone barrels when?
They need to make the Hellion in 308.
Been saying that.
I’m sure they will at some point.
Now if only they could make a bigger magwell, bigger bolt release and a *_BETTER TRIGGER_*
Is that an older Geissele rifle? I like how it says Geissele on the upper instead of just a "G" and also like the bronze heat treated sparkout flash hider, pretty sure thats what that is.
It’s weird that the handguard doesn’t have a QD slot.
$1700 Is very reasonable for a quality Bullpup. Kel tec was first with the adjustable stock. And I'm sure it's more reliable than a kel tec ie; intertech tec9 game. And it's not a tavor or aug.
I got 3000 rounds through my rdb with no failures paid 850$ for it,keltec and intertec are different company’s completely. Also intertec been out of business a long time to each is own I’m not paying 1500-2000$ for a bullpump just my option 99% of people are going to the range not to war
@@Youkilledkenny42069 the issue is you got a kel-tec lol
Springfield out their minds @ $1700+
Show me a better bullpup for $400
@@kellym3531 wat?!
Save the RDB from Kel-Tec, most bullpups are $2K+. It's pretty on par for bullpups.
Wait until you see the Amicus or Commando, those are going to be SCAR pricing
I agree, they could have easily charged 2k or more.
quite sad the Hellion only got a melonite barrel compared to X95 which has a cold hammer forged chrome lined barrel.
The funny thing is, the actual Croatian military's VHS-2s have the chrome lined barrel.
Which, might be the reason that Hellions are generally more accurate than the Tavor.
Everyone makes a huge stink over CHF and chrome lining, ESPECIALLY AK guys... but I would bet that 99.9% of the owners of these wouldn't notice the difference between melonite, nitride, chrome lining, let alone actually shoot enough through it to wear it out.
I don’t get why anything bull pup is north of $1,500 always,am I missing something where they cost more to make.
It's showing that the oryx bipod is sold out!
Nobody is buying the Hellion, let’s raise the price and make it longer. Springfield Armory logic.
Springfield doesn't make them lol
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Can we get pic rails on the Hellion instead of M lock?
Never. Pic rails are ancient tech. if you really want them they have adapters for MLOK
@@KonaLife Ya, let me mount a pic rail section on MLOK, even though I could just only use pic rail from the start 🧠
Using two interfaces just to use only really use one in the end is big brain
Did they finally get all the hedge fund guys out of the gun industry. A 22lr performance bolt gun but takes 10/22 mags? Its like they want to compete on quality and value not lockin and other BS.
Ew Springfield.
Yes, but they don't actually make this at least. It's made by HS Produkt in Croatia, who are fantastic.
@@a.k47-74true, it's a shame we can't get one from them directly.
Pricing aside, Springfield needs to check themselves for adverse medication interactions with some of these firearms. And bullpups are gross.
hellion is actually a very nice bullpup as far as those mutants go
Does hellion have some safety to prevent out of battery explosion????
