@Worlds Biggest Loser it's an old saying. It's like, I took such a deep breath waiting for the worst that the air came all the way from my butt. I sucked in a breath of air that hard. :)
they fkd up the real story in the movie, lefty never got whacked for letting donnie in, sonny black did, there was a contract on lefty but the bosses lifted it when he refused to cooperate with the authorities
Lefty was actually on his way to get whacked but the FBI got wind of the hit and stopped him and arrested him before they could clip him. I think they wanted to flip him but he refused and you're right he never got whacked in the end. He went to prison for a long time and died of cancer shortly after he got out in the end. This is according to the real Joe Pistone and former made mobster Michael Franzese.
@@CrazyMunky84 I saw a fbi documentary and that is true. After he refused to cooperate and refused witness protection they lifted the hit and gave him a pass. It also mentioned and had pictures of lefty after he was released from prison. He died a year or two after his release from lung and testicular cancer. What's crazy is when he was released from prison he was photographed smoking.
And the line "tell Donnie, that if it had to be anyone, I'm glad it was him" was actually said by Sonny Black to his gf. Even after realizing he was an FBI agent, Sonny Black still respected Donnie and what he did. Lefty ended up dying bitter and jaded about the whole thing lol. Much respect to Sonny Black tho
@@michaelscott5653 why talk shit about lefty? He was a true gangster to the end. He never cooperated with authorities. Sure he made a huge mistake in bringing Donnie in but he was tricked. If you’re gonna respect sonny black you should show some respect to Lefty as well
Over Lefty, of course. I actually started when the FBI busted their little operation and Pacino was yelling "Donnie! Don't say nothin'!" and I was practically sobbing by the end of this segment when he was going to leave for the meeting. That and something about Pacino's character in this movie. I just feel so bad for him. Even though I heard in real life Lefty tried to put a hit on Brasco. It's just sad how you can't even trust your own friends.
It's a very good film that expertly layers the story so it's not some asinine shoot'em up yarn that glorifies the mafia. It's also not a documentary on Joe Pistone's time undercover. If they made a movie about something that happened in real life, just the way it happened (in boring detail), none of us would watch it. They were trying to give the essence of Pistone's story, which they did.
Ruggiero was convicted in both New York and Florida and sentenced to 20 years in prison. In 1992, Ruggiero was released from prison after serving 11 years, sick with lung and testicular cancer. On November 24, 1994, Benjamin Ruggiero died of lung cancer at age 68
I noctice that in alot of MOB movies there's characters who die of cancer in almost all the movies rather there fiction or based on a true story or events.
When you have two male and female that grew up together got married and live their entire lives together from a neighborhood there is no way shape or form that could really happen the way this ending is in this movie unless your wife is a dunsky
Education is good regardless. Mr. TMG is learning something about history. There is an age old saying about history "those who do not learn it are bound to repeat it." Not to mention you're being excessively close minded about your view on his learning habits. Just because he shows a knowledge of things mafia related, does not mean he doesn't know anything about electricity or magnetism. In fact, the stories of the mafia and the bringing down of the mafia can please the spirit, given the context
I don't know either It might be they're trying to burn a loose end in case of Joe pistone goes back to the mob by outing him he can never go back and earn with them
donnie brasco was a better friend with sonny black than lefty in real life...joe pistone said lefty was pain in the ass and a hard man to be around, i never did understood why they added mirra's personality to sonny blacks character and made him a "bad guy"...what, they couldnt pay one more actor? Probably because of pacino, he couldnt play the second fiddle in the movie
@pitbull103 The undercover guys arent heros. I hate killers and stuff but guys like Lefty exist in reallife , too I mean he isnt really bad, he doesnt kill randomly people... And I dont think you can call someone like Joe Pistone a hero... I mean in this movie Donnie has no heart , theres no way i could lie to Lefty that why, my heart is to weak for that... it gives me goosebumps when lefty still believes in Donnie and screams: "Dont tell em nothin"
@juanguita For real.. now (and u can notice when u watch the next part) donnie's gonna be fkd up in the head, for life. They shoulda just pulled him out, had the ceremony and called it a day. So to the mafia it would look like he just disappeared, i wounder how different things would be
Listen to how the leather on Lefty' jacket crinkles when he moves.
the sound and audio quality is absoloutely superb. Thank you very much sir.
Brilliant film to boot.

It's just the movie the director left the sound of his jacket in the movie for the authenticity it's in the making of donnie brasco

It was Sunny Black that was killed. Leftie refused to cooperate with the authorities and went to prison for a long time.
