Man the balls it takes to drive this on those narrow country roads. I would be 100% stressing about every driveway hoping I don’t get T boned by a geezer in a Corsa 😅
The Diablo was definitely my poster car. I was born in 1990, and the first time I ever saw it was in the movie Dumb and Dumber and absolutely fell in love with it. I was 5.
Timeless design, just uncontested. It's not a recycled design like many lambos are today. The sound, the lines, the roof scoops, just a thing of beauty
Hey Sam at around 10:25, I would appreciate if you could go more into detail when reviewing these cars. Why is the steering “nice”? What about the gearbox is “lovely”? It doesn’t really tell us anything about the driving characteristics of these cars we rarely see anywhere really
I understand if it can be hard timing wise when you only have a limited time available but with your knowledge it would be nice if you could go more into detail about these things. Just some constructive feedback, I love everything else about your videos!
I’ve been a Ford guy all my life, GT40 is my dream car! But I cannot deny, that white Diablo you drove is one of the best looking cars out there. Thanks again for the great video!!
2:09 i love this shot. yours is one of my all-time favourite 911s, it just looks amazing with the green and yellow, the wheels and the bespoke interior. then two very classy looking diablos that even I am quite fond of. looking forward to the next 20 mins
Pre face lift Diablos are the best looking modern Lamborghinis. Later cars might be better in every way, except for looks, drama and sense of occasion.
In primary school, my poster car was firstly the Lamborghini Muira then the Lamborghini Espada. I saw one at the Melbourne Motor Show and at the time it cost $21,000. We had a Peugeot 404 at the time and it cost well under $2000 new to give you some perspective. In my teens and 20's, it was the Countach, in my 30's, it was the Diablo.
I had a poster of a Diablo SV when i was a kid. One of my all-time favorite looking cars. So iconic. Glad to hear it drives good aswell, Enjoying your small reviews/coffee runs.
*I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR A REAL HONEST TEST DRIVE* I'm 44 years old and the SV is one my favorite childhood super cars. You just gave the best test drive iveI'ever seen. As far as looks go the VT looks a little sexier. However the SV is just timeless and classic. One of the last real super cars before the cars were completely controlled by computer. I want to "feel" the car, the road.
Strictly between the 2, that white SV has *something* extra about her, something i can't necessarily point out clearly, but that makes it my favourite. (Also the pop up headlights are a plus)
I just love the Diablo, this was my poster car growing up and I was born in 96. My aunities new partner has a 95 Diablo in red and has been showing me how he managed to change the gearbox himself. Such a beast
Very surprised when I heard you say your poster Lambos were the Murci and Aventador, I'm 27 and mine were the Diablo, Mclaren F1, CLK GTR. Helps that I grew up playing the old Need for speed games (high stakes)
Never been a Lambo' fan. Always preferred other Italian offerings so I'm probably the wrong person to comment saying I much prefer the white one. So much more character internally and, simple is often the most appealing.
Being 50, the Countach and Diablo were definately MY poster cars. Countach has always been my favourite, but lately I find myself liking the original early 90's Diablo VT in red (with tan interior & rear wing of course) even more. Actually my first Bburago model was a Diablo exactly as I describe (and I still have that model!) Anyway Sam, my son and I intend to come to the Melbourne Cars and Coffee event in November, hope to catch up and say g'day.😀
What a great pair of cars. Out of the two you drove, the Diablo SV is a really gorgeous spec and the white color was perfect! If I had one to choose, it would be the Murcielago LP670-4 SV with a manual. ❤👊
I remember when the Diablo SV came out - if memory serves it had different gear ratios which meant a lower top speed, but better acceleration. Think it was also lighter and generally drove better than any Diablo before. I absolutely hate what Audi did to it and everything these days feels contrived.
Can't wait for Sam to get back to his normal adventures rather than doing these adverts. I know he has to fund the trips somehow but these latest videos have seemed like infomercials to me.
The VT and Diablo 6.0 are different cars . The 6.0 was the face lifted Diablo minus the pop up headlights and revised interior . The VT was way before that and named the VT. The Diablo 6.0 was I think 4 wheel drive though
Something abou that more oldscool charm and popup headlights makes it more of a Diablo for me so not like iam in the financial bracket for a toy or five like that. So you got yourself a Moonswatch to, dont think it will really replace your real Speedmaster right even if they are sorta fun?
Great video and comparison Sam! When Diablo is mentioned, I just never imagine VT to be a Diablo. If I could buy a Diablo, I'd be torn which one to get. VT is definitely better option but that original design is what we imagine Diablo is 🙆♂🤷♂
My boyhood dream was the Diablo SV. I went in a Diablo in a convoy of 4 lambo's as an usher at a family wedding and a bit like I'd imagine the first hit of heroin to be like, I've always been chasing that high ever since. It was crazy, stupid and didnt really make any sense but that's true lamborghini; they want to build cars for hairy chested men who basically have never really grown up. Something about that rawness is so special though
I believe there's no other Lambo that uses the VT. It stands for vicious traction and the LP something -4 is sort of the equivalent of it in today's standard
Quick google search, revealed this meaning for LP " Longitudinale Posteriore LP stands for the rear longitudinal position (“Longitudinale Posteriore” in Italian) of the 12-cylinder engine, which stemmed from Ferruccio Lamborghini's desire to maintain the image of a company at the forefront of style and technology following the Miura." And obviously, the -4 is for the 4WD...
@@tunes4life all the modern Audi era Lamborghinis are AWD with the exception of several models of Gallardo and Huracan, so that's kinda why they don't use the VT abbreviation anymore
Love the GT3, would love one but my pocket book currently will not stack up to it and yes Diablo is one of my poster cars. Well until my ship comes in Sam thanks for the shared experience
I think that Sam has been driving so many cars and sometimes just for a short time, that it gets difficult to say what is good and bad. To a certain extent these are all fascinating and cool cars and they are fast enough to put you in jail as long as you shift flat out from one gear to another. IN the end it is a question of look and taste. And as he mentioned you can change your opinion about a car from drivning it 15 minutes to a full weekend.
the VT interior is nice, although the carbon fibre is a little much. The SV interior looks so much better though IMO, much nicer than how tacky modern lamborghini have gone

The Diablo seems to go under the radar - such a beautiful boxy beast
It goes under the radar because they are a bit shit. Beautiful to look at though.
Kinda like your mom
Nice seeing a Diablo get some love. The VT stands for viscous traction, referring to the AWD system.
Yep, VT didn’t mean anything special beyond AWD. I think most Diablos were actually VTs once they added the option.
Makes me wonder why SV wasn't Semi-vicious 😂
Man the balls it takes to drive this on those narrow country roads. I would be 100% stressing about every driveway hoping I don’t get T boned by a geezer in a Corsa 😅
Fun fact the white car last MOT was 2013 and there is no road tax.I did not see any trade plates.
Classic 😂

I'm 44. The 959, F40 and Diablo were all on my wall. This is a real treat!
Murci SV is the king of its era period. The flare of it and the sound is incredible one of the best sounding cars ever.
2:09 i love this shot. yours is one of my all-time favourite 911s, it just looks amazing with the green and yellow, the wheels and the bespoke interior. then two very classy looking diablos that even I am quite fond of. looking forward to the next 20 mins
That was a really cool comparison. The change in just a few years to the same car is pretty crazy. Seems like a whole new car
Pre face lift Diablos are the best looking modern Lamborghinis.
Later cars might be better in every way, except for looks, drama and sense of occasion.
The Murcielargo SV is one of my favourite Lamborghini’s but that Diablo 6.0 is quite something
Literally sat down with a coffee and this popped up. Perfect timing. Think I would have rathered got mine in a Diablo :)
For sure, one of my favorite recent episodes. Always love the back to back comparison drives.

Totally had a heart attack when he pulled over the side road with the curb higher than the front lip of the car 😅
@21 minutes - sounds like the beginning to Travelling Without moving by Jamiroquai. Quality.
Could you tell me where you got the strap for the moonswatch please 😂
I can only agree with you... my V12 lambo would also be the Murci SV 👌
I justcan't get over the seat-patterns in the 911. I just can't.😂❤
I just love the Diablo, this was my poster car growing up and I was born in 96. My aunities new partner has a 95 Diablo in red and has been showing me how he managed to change the gearbox himself. Such a beast
Thankfully, my poster car during my childhood was a Mclaren F1 LM in papaya orange with the black wing and side skirt. Love it!!
4:50 - this music fits SO much :D
SV for me, Diablo has got to have pop up lights as far as I'm concerned. Definitely my poster car.
Great video as usual Sam!! Did you accidentally cut the outro from the video Sam?? Video seemed to end very abruptly.
I've driven the VT and couldn't get used to it. The driving position was weird and my head was pretty much on the top of the A pillar haha
Very surprised when I heard you say your poster Lambos were the Murci and Aventador, I'm 27 and mine were the Diablo, Mclaren F1, CLK GTR. Helps that I grew up playing the old Need for speed games (high stakes)
Diablos have always been in my ‘Top 10 most beautiful cars ever made’
100% this comment, I prefer them with the wing just for aesthetics but they are gorgeous.
I really need this Diablo SV to go alongside the Murcielago SV. Thanks for sharing Sam seems its really a joy to drive on the road 🙌
My G-d I am old... my poster car was the Countach.
In my opinion the Diablo is the best looking Lambo.
And i dont like most mid-engined super/sportscars.
Nice to see you finally drive it.
Weird to say this but the Diablo suits you Sam. If you ever decide to go down the route of lambo v12, Diablo is my vote.
Sam lovely content, can't wait for the Porsche Adventure.
Dude, You're GT3 is a spectacular spec!
THAT sv is pretty much my dream car. Id prefer Giallo, but man alive it looks gorgeous in white. You are very lucky Sam!

Looked like you had a ton of fun! It's fun to watch when a car pleasantly surprises you
The Diablo, even the name says enough as I still love it more now than I did when it came out
I’m amazed just how different the interior is. I knew about the exterior in later cars but that came as a surprise.
One on the classics list Sam? 😂
Nfs hot pursuit 3 vibes 🔥
Great Video! Fun to see the differences in the cars. Pop up headlights for me!
Wow Sam to great Lamborghini. The white one is the one to have.
What a great pair of cars. Out of the two you drove, the Diablo SV is a really gorgeous spec and the white color was perfect! If I had one to choose, it would be the Murcielago LP670-4 SV with a manual. ❤👊
Yep! Definitely the one to get, and do what Paul from SOL did, and put the same exhaust he had on his murci, as it sounded just like an old F1 car...
Diablo SV is and has always been my poster and dream car. I’d have it in Giallo 💛.
Sam yours is the best channel currently (there I’ve said it) and I love that you have made that 911 interior your own. Pasha is king … great episode
100% would be buying the pre-facelift. The Pop-Ups are iconic. Plus... they aren't Nissan headlights... 🤣
Sam, your channel is so underrated. Keep up the good work Sir.

Those wheels look absolutely great
What I thinking is, how are you going the change gear with that coffee there!
This VT is always referred to as the Diablo 6.0. The name VT was given to the second gen Diablo and the Roadster.
The VT and Diablo 6.0 are different cars . The 6.0 was the face lifted Diablo minus the pop up headlights and revised interior . The VT was way before that and named the VT. The Diablo 6.0 was I think 4 wheel drive though
Super video. Did the White Diablo have a TV remote control on the dashboard? I was waiting to find out what it was 🤣

There is a hidden Rover 45 part in that VT.....
I know Sam likes his coffee but the driving somewhere to get tea market is wide open.
Where’s your tshirt from mate??
At 4:42, isn't that four?
You’re very good at this UA-cam lark. Excellent…
So true about poster cars
The revised Diablo (loss of pop-up headlights) used headlights from the Nissan 300ZX !! 😳🤔
The rear lights were from a Bova coach!
Is it just me or does the lock on the drivers side door keep flashing?
When you got coffee at the beginning of the video I saw something called a "sausage bap" ? What exactly is that ?
Love all Lambo's but the Murci is glorious ❤
what's the name of the color? i know its white but what kind of white?
Your not stopping in Adelaide on your oz tour🧐
One word Sam: Autobahn.👍
Your comment at 12:46 hit hard Sam😢😅😅😅
Can U see the Lamborghini dashboard, such as kitchen cabinet.
I've got 6, including one with 1721 bhp an a custom 166mm turbo.

Such a good looking classic 👌
If you ever get an opportunity, it would be cool to see you test a W124 500e.
Those Lamborghinis were nice but there was a green Porsche lurking in the background…
The f40 wasn't really a diablo rival, they barely overlapped at all
Very enjoyable as always 👍

Much better content like the Alfa Romeo 4C days👍
Does the VT sound like 2 classic BMW I6's put together or is that me? 😅
Everyone goes to Aus and misses Adelaide 😭
Always my favourite Lambo, I‘m your age but played more NFS HP/2 I think 😄
Yippee, sams coming down under :)
I hope to see you soon young sir

Hi Sam, you do know this cars last mot was 2013 😯
That is my all time fav Lambo, other than the Murcielago
