That is so easy to use. And all of these years, I have been paying more money buying plain bias tape. I could have had all different kinds of patterned bias on my projects. Thank you so much for a teacher who makes it looks so easy.
Oh my word--I have been sewing for years. I have seen these but never spent the money to buy one. I could have saved so much money by making my own! I just ordered a set this past week and I am looking forward to making some pretty bias tape. This video was clear and easy to understand--thank you!!
This is an excellent, informative video tutorial! I love how the folds are on the bottom rather than the top when pulling the fabric through & ironing it!!! It makes it so much easier to accomplish using that & the iron to keep it in place. Thank you!
Thank you so much for very clear instructions! My bias tape makers arrived with no instructions and in metric. I was able to solve the metric issue by going to an on-line converter, but didn't know how wide to cut my strips. This was very helpful!!!!! Appreciated!
Just got into this and have pulled my hair out each time. Always going crooked!! Now you are showing the tool upside down and seem to have better control since your hand isn't dangling above the work. Will try this. Thank you!!

I wish I had seen this when I was making the straps for my facemasks at the beginning of lockdown. I made masks following a pattern give out by kaiser that used two long staps that tie behind the head. Folding them up and pressing them was the most time consuming part of the project.
Little tip - thread the tape through by poking with a pin through the slot on the other side. I didn't see you show the other side of the maker. Thanks for the video.
Some do it this way and others do it the other way. Both work, but the coloured end up allows you to use a pin to feed the fabric through at the start.

Wonderfully detailed demo. Was a little confused as to why you were using the tape maker upside down instead of having the pulling handle up on top as it is designed, but all in all i loved the video and appreciated your skills
Hi, In theory- yes, you can use this on knit fabric- however, it is very important that you try not to stretch the fabric too much as you pull it through the tool. This can be difficult if the fabric is too thick, so try it out on a lighter weight knit first. Cheers, Ashley
OMG I’ve been sewing since I was a teenager...over 40 years.... how did I not know there were bias tape makers!!!! I do have a rather embarrassing question though. If you don’t need the stretch for your garment, do you have to make/cut on the bias?
Happily, no. For straight edges, just cut your bias tape from the straight. However, if you are using your bias tape on a curved edge, like a neckline or armholes, you will need the stretch of the bias cut tape to ‘give’ on the inside curves (concave) and stretch a bit on any outside curves (convex). My first big mistake was cutting my bias wider than it should have been. What a mess trying to get it to push through!
You need the little box that irons it at the same time. I hoped when i saw this notification you were going to show some tricks about that machine, but still very helpful!

I'm using a 2" bias maker and I cannot get it to work?? I don't know what I'm doing wrong??? I have followed the instruction and when I pull the fabric through, it does not fold it? Please help!

So she is saying that you have to make bias tape by cutting fabric in diagonal stripes because you have to make the bias tape stretchable? That doesn't sound logic... Why does is ALWAYS have to be stretchy?
Use a pin to pull the fabric along the top slot to feed it through, isn't that why the slot is there? Also I thought you pulled it along with the loop at the top....so then you can check the fold is doing OK..........

You are so welcome!
That’s the best demonstration I have seen for making bias binding
Thank you so much! I’ve been holding the maker upside down!
This is an evergreen / timeless video , I am sure it will get a million views over time . Thank You !
Great video! I was so frustrated until I saw your video soooo helpful. Thank you!

OMG thank you, all these videos out there don’t explain the size you need to feed into the maker. Double the size it says it makes. Thank you
Your welcome!
Thank you. I have searched everywhere for a video that explains how wide to cut your strips for these tools.
Thanks! Just bought a set and wondered how to get started. :)
Thank you for the clearest instructions I have seen. This will help mask tie making go so much faster! 😊 ❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😷❤️
Super useful, thank you! Especially appreciate the explanation what exactly cutting on the bias means.
Thank you very much. Now I know how to use the Madam Sew Bias Tape Maker
Thank you so much for very clear instructions! My bias tape makers arrived with no instructions and in metric. I was able to solve the metric issue by going to an on-line converter, but didn't know how wide to cut my strips. This was very helpful!!!!! Appreciated!
🌸Thank you 🌼
Very nice & clear instruction, thanks.

Thanks! Just got the set. This is very helpful
Thank you!
Wow, so easy! I have bought a kit but couldn't quite figure out how to use it. This is so simple, thank you!
Can this tool be used on straight grain strips too?

We certainly hope this will help moving forward!
Brilliant. Thank you. I was on the verge of throwing mine out!
Glad it helped
😂
Thank you so much! This was so informative!
Great video. Easy to follow!!
Glad it was helpful!

Great tip!
Very succinct demonstration. Thank you. X
I’ve been holding it upside down! So thanks!
You are wonderful and I thank you very very much for this
omg thank you. THIS is what I needed to know all these details.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, great tutorial, thank you so much! I was doing my bias tape maker upside down🤣

very helpful! thank you!
Perfect tutorial thanks for sharing
Nice! Now I know what people are talking about.
ah so we learn, never knew bis tape needs to be cut at 45 deg...thank you

Why do it upside down so that you are unable to see if the fabric is feeding equally to the center of the bias strip?

I agree with you Phil. She’s using that thing upside down.
It can be done either way, that's just how she chose to do it for her video.
Thank you for the tutorial -- Is your material cut slighly bigger as the end where you feed it in?
Wonderfully detailed demo. Was a little confused as to why you were using the tape maker upside down instead of having the pulling handle up on top as it is designed, but all in all i loved the video and appreciated your skills
You’re suppose to feed slit up and iron it with double fold up.
I believe you need to flip the bias maker, otherwise you cannot see if the fabric underneath folds and feeds evenly
Thanks! Can you use the binding maker on stretch fabric? Tia

Dòndr puedo comprsr el kit de bisds tape
What do you do if the type of fabric can't be ironed
Are you holding it upside down? Wouldn’t it be easier holding it right side up?

Thank you! Just got some bias tape makers from eBay with no instructions whatsoever
This way works but you're holding the bias maker upside down I believe

Try it not upside down!
Still can't get mine to work correctly. Sides are bunching up and not folding. Frustrated!
You missed the most important part of making "bias" tape, how to best cut strips on the bias!
How DO you cut the best strips?
Stodoys plans are amazing!
