I had to laugh the other day I was at Cobourg hospital and listened to 2 residents of the encampment talking about how they don’t think brookside is sold but they are just saying that because people want them gone and all they are trying to do is steal all “their” stuff!!!! It was very hard to bite my tongue and not say what like all the stuff you guys have stolen from the working class of Cobourg. These people have such an entitlement and believe we all them!! Glad to see this encampment gone and hoping Cobourg stays on top of all the little encampments now being created!!!

I have Multiple Sclerosis and I'm losing my ability to walk and use my hands. I used to be part of the working class and now I'm going to food banks trying to stay alive, awaiting disability services after years. I miss working so dearly. One big bill and I'd be homeless just like these people. I wouldn't be an addict, but a homeless human. It makes me sick to know my community would immediately treat me like scum and not help. Comments are full of insecure bigots
And this is a perfect example of why Disability and Critical Illness personal policies exist. You wouldn't be relying on society to provide for you if you had them adequately in place.
Ontario Disability/ ODSP does not take years, decisions are made in less than 90 days. It is unwarranted to say your community would not help. Thousands were raised by donors & working class, as seen left behind in this video…
