Cortana is less see through, the environment has a level of wear and tear present in floor, walls, etc. Wear and tear on master chief's armor. Master chief's armor is way less reflective.

@@NazmusLabs the sound effects were. But not how they were encoded. CE had a really impressive audio encoder that made everything sound super dynamic and fit the environment, so you are in a large room the gun sounds different than a small room etc. Sadly to this level it is not restored.

Halo on 2001 had mind-blowing graphics that the PC port lost because Halo use effects that not appeared until Directx9 thats why the port was crap, its like disabling raytracing. You can see this scene recorded from my 2001 xbox on my channel... and it looks awesome even at 480p... xbox was ahead of its time, if you see another 2001 xbox games like Dead or Alive 3 it dont look like a 20 year game with that awesome graphics.
The little grime and speckles really brings some life to these models and surfaces. I suppose I wasn't aware how messed up it is presently. Thanks for the visual MB.
I was so young when I played halo ce on og Xbox I never realized how different the gearbox port and console were till when halo ce Anniversary came out and ppl were Pointing out the differences but dead down about it and I forgot after a while till mcc cuz they used the gearbox port again everyone was back on the Saddle and point out the differences again
Man, it's weird; I played Halo first on the OG Xbox but the first copy of the game I owned was the original PC port, and it's nice to finally play the game the way it was meant to be played.
So honestly, I haven't experienced CE in its original Xbox form. I started playing Halo on MCC and then played it on Steam much more when it released. To be completely honest, the only thing that I knew was off about the graphics was the shield strength and correspond colors changing. That is the only feature I really care about for this visual update to CE.
Played it a bit, for some reasons, I had the texture updates, but whatever I did, culdn't get the shields to have the texture changes as they should, I'm so confused, anyone with access to the flight with a GeForce 2070 managed to get it to work ?
No, no, I was on the insider. Everything worked fine, the Halo 4 armor effects, Halo 3 elite armors, the Halo 3 new maps (waterfall is amazing) and Halo CE graphism, but the deployable covers and jackal shields didn't work
Two things: 1. With the classic Halo CE being brought back I eagerly am gona enjoy another play though that have not seen since my childhood (tho wish they add classic halo loading screen for CE) 2. It never dawned on me before but just realized that the chip that cortana resides in that’s in master chiefs helm is likely one of if not the last bit of the Pillar of autumn that was not destroyed during the end of the first game
The chip was never a part of the pillar of autumn, the chip was actually made for chiefs suit, (or rather the suit was made to house such a chip) and cortana and the chief where paired shortly before the fall of reach. Cortana has been a permanent part of chiefs arsenal before they even met the pillar of autumn. The lines in the beginning of the first mission that allude to cortana meeting the chief for the first time where all leftovers from older scripts. Just like the line "yank me" was also a leftover from when cortana was a completely different ethnicity. Its not cannon.

I agree, especially the loading screen bit. Still think they should make a main menu and main menu UI custom option so you can choose a background and menu style based on each title in the collection
You would be appalled by the state of many remasters in the gaming industry then. Another good one to look into is Sonic Adventure. Every single time they port it, the game loses something that worked in the Dreamcast version just fine

No, that’d be dumb. Why leave in bugs. It’s not like old graphics vs new. These are broken code that are being fixed. Besides, the bug is still preserved. Anyone can download the old Halo 1 pc, apply Bungie’s 2014 patch, and play it in 1080p on Win10. Perfectly preserved.
I’ve recently gained respect for the classic CE graphics due to cursed halo (I saw naked Thanos at least 5 times) so I’m glad the graphics have been fixed on MCC
Nice to see they finally fixed Captain Keyes's uniform to be what it was in the original XBox version and not the prototype version that Gearbox used for the first awful PC port...
I cannot be the only person who actually liked the slightly sharper features of Captain Keyes from the PC port. Just about everything else is an improvement, Master Chief no longer looks like he's wearing an iridescent beetle shell, Cortana's transparency is toned down and coloration increased, and even the Captain's skin color is more natural looking and not greyed and washed out. But still, Captain Keyes has lost some of those stern, sharp facial features that made him look the part of a hardball captain.
As someone who grew up playing the Gearbox's version on the PC it will be an awkward change for me when I replay the OG xbox version. However, I do prefer GearBox's Captain Keyes model, especially the face, there is more color and 'life" in the xbox version, but when all the years that captain Keyes put in fighting the Covenant and rebels I alway imagine his appearance to look more tired, colorless, in other words older

She has always been purple before the 343 era, the only game that she’s slightly on the blue side is Halo 3, and they changed it back to full purple in Reach.
On original halo cortana has BLUE EYES only, and rest are color-changing from purple to blue with MATRIX TRAILS crossing she, and she change color when angry to yellow and red.
