    I was trying out for air traffic control and was posted to Whitehorse in the early 70,s and watching this brought back memories of that time. It has changed a lot over the years. Back then it was a regular wind sock and not the DC3. there was a lot of amazing and unusal things that happened then. Thanks mfor the memories.

      @@brucesmith9144 The last of their TV show was the crash landing of their Electra with landing gear problems, so from that, thought it would end. That was 20+ years ago, so now would be entirely different. Going on Google to find out.

    My first airplane flight was in a private DC3. Before I left I had read up all about the DC3 which admin design by calculation with a slide rule RULE. Later computer analysis showed that the DC3 over designed by many multiples of engineering layers. I was ready for my first flight which turned out to land on a West Virginia mountaintop where are they landing strip ended with the edge of the mountain. I got a lot of nerve yeah pulled together for that trip. I have never forgotten the DC three.

    8:20. When the DC-3 is having issues the producers added fake smoke coming out the engine to make it look worse. Because the little bit at that speed wouldn’t show up on camera… cmon guys keep it real. Don’t add drama. Most people who watch this would rather have it real than a show like the tow truck guys or storage wars or something.

    Only thing I’m so confused is how do FAA allow this planes on the air so unsafe they always have problems and seems like passengers gettin ripped off

    • @ATFDFF
      @ATFDFF 3 роки тому +7

      Well, keep in mind this is a Canadian show so it’s not within the FAA’s prevue. But you’re absolutely right, the Canadian equivalent of the FAA has come down on different facets of this operation multiple times….some detailed on the show and some not. I think they should probably be harsher…considering I’m sure some of the negative stuff is whitewashed and not presented in the show, so it’s probably worse than it seems here.

    • @avlyfe4099
      @avlyfe4099 3 роки тому +5

      Well it’s Transport Canada not the US so we aren’t governed by the FAA

    • @3a.m.284
      @3a.m.284 3 роки тому +1

      Clearly not that unsafe since they haven't had any crashes, and also theyve been in business for damn near a century so business is good

    • @ATFDFF
      @ATFDFF 3 роки тому +2

      @@3a.m.284 Yeah that’s literally not accurate. They’ve had multiple crashes, some of which have been caught on video.
