The one from mad sq Gardens from song remains same is shit, it's tired, ponderous and plants voice is shot from being amongst the last night of a major tour, this on the other hand, is poss the greatest blues song ever recorded
Was there my dear . I’m 60. Was 14 then. Saw over 300 concerts in my life and still going strong in the tri-state. Hands down the best concert I ever saw. 💕 John Bonham still alive and did a 30 minute drum solo that shattered the walls of MSG. BEST MEMORY!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@featherinthewind333 I remember reading that Zep were disappointed with the MSG concert but seems this is not the general consensus amongst fans - including myself. I’ve always been in complete awe of the whole show from the age of 14 - completely blown away and remain so at 51. Still, I 100% concur with your second point!
@@featherinthewind333, that's your opinion, l perfer seeing their live performances,l saw them many, many times in concert, how many times did you see them?🤟🤔
The production and overdubs are fantastic. They make this track - having the real bass (instead of relying on the organ), and extra guitars make the lead-and-bridge sections awesome.
I have to agree with both of you: my favorite of theirs, sounds like four musicians and one soul. . . JPJ somehow doesn't repeat himself nearly at all on that bassline, and every single phrase is a masterclass. IDK how the boy did it but damn did he do it.
They do a lot of blues.”You Shook Me”, “Tea for One”, “Nobody’s Fault But Mine”. “In My Time Of Dying” (an old gospel song), “When the Levee Breaks”, “I Can’t Quit You Babe”, “Traveling Riverside Blues”, just to name a few.
I'm really glad that you got to hear the studio version before the live one. The live is excellent and it's nice to watch them perform that variation, but this version is perfection to the utmost.
This is my absolute favorite Led Zeppelin song it even tops Stairway to Heaven, which is my #2 under this track! The soul, the blues, the rock...it all is just an amazing masterpiece!!
My two favorite Zeppelin songs. My old man got laid every time he played either one, he’d lead the way to the bedroom if we got that far. Lord have mercy!
The greatest band ever and ever will be led zeppelin they are unbelievable and untouchable in every department I don't know what to say I am speechless
Yes sir! Here are the GOATS of rock n roll ¡ great choice bro. Time to get the Led out!!! I really enjoy watching you react to great music!!! Ty for your journey
My Brother, you have ONLY SCRATCHED THE SURFACE.....!!! I got one that is one of my personal FAVS, some dirty old South Mississippi Blues with some Funkiness to Boot. A MUST LISTEN... "In My Time of Dyin" Studio Version.... Get ready to be Baptized Baby....!! Peace
Led Zepp were on tour, Jimmy Page went to a studio to do this solo. He played- 1 TAKE from memory and then left. The recording tech said it was the best solo he'd ever heard! Jimmy Page what a machine!
Loved your reaction to this song. They are special and diverse musically. Hard rock, blues, folk. They signed a record deal that gave them a lot of artistic freedom and they did just that and we all are benefitting from it.
Thanks for the passionate reaction to Led. That was so awesome to watch. Yep... Exactly. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to choose a top fav of mine by Led ‘cause the tunes they created were so diverse and great... but no doubt this one’s in the top 3 for me as well. It moves me every time I hear it. Hands down, those four magically combining together to form Led Zep = THE GOAT Rock Bands. 🙌🏼❤️
My All time favorite Zep tune but never heard this song until some 20 years after it came out when I bought the Box set- I was a wee little age back in the day when it originally debuted, however it primarily was played on FM radio stations and I listen to only AM stations then and this particular tune is rarely played on the oldies stations Even Today!!!
You nailed it! Zeppelin is firing on all cylinders here - the vocals, the guitar, the drums are all FIRE. This song, and the band, are a force of nature. Like you, I fell in love with this track in my early days of discovering the band. I've never heard anything like it before or since. If you like this song, do Zeppelin's "In My Time of Dying."
That was from the first album I ever bought with money I had actually earned. I was 13. I bought it because I had heard the Immigrant Song on the radio, and I liked it. It was early in January 1971. And when I put this album on the turntable, and I heard Since I've Been Loving You, it changed the way I felt about music. It changed me. That sounds dramatic, but I had never heard anything like that. From that time on, I was hooked. And from some strange coincidence, Led Zeppelin was the headliner for the first concert I ever went to. Those were fun times.
This song is outstanding on many levels, from the organ playing that brings you to church, to the searing vocals, to the in your face drumming, and finally, the guitar that is speaking to you throughout as well as the solo that was recorded in one take - absolute perfection.
Your spirit is fire! Love you for it brother. Keep spreading the love. This band never did the same thing twice musically. Pretty much magic from start to finish. Really appreciate your take on it, thanx.
I know it's hard to decide which song to do next by these guys since they don't make a bad song, but I trust one day you'll get to "The Rover" and "Achilles Last Stand." We'll be waiting patiently.
Everyone says that about This Song!! That it Touched the Soul!! Other Reactors, Friends, and So forth! All I know, I Don't even Know this Woman, but by the End this Song, I Don't want ANYTHING to do with Her!! Great Reaction my Friend!!👍
It seems to be true , no one has this ability to make music this great anymore. This is timeless wizardry. Try it live next from the concert/movie at Madison Square Gardens 1973. Legendary to me. Cool to see them perform also.
The deeper you get into Led Zeppelin‘s catalog of music, the more clear it will become that you cannot rank their songs. Your favorite will always depend on your mood. My favorite Led Zeppelin song is generally the one that I’m listening to at the moment.
They were the masters of the overheated, hard rocking blues style that was big in England in the mid to late 60s. They raised the volume a bit more than anyone else other than Black Sabbath though, especially in this song. A couple more good blues tunes if you haven't heard them are In My Time of Dying and I'm Gonna Crawl which I find criminally underrated.
Just a brilliant recording. Eventually you'll get to the double album Physical Graffiti and hear a whole bunch of other sides of the Led Zeppelin sound. My favorite Led album.
Epic reaction, nobody does it better tan Zep. I personally love the whole album cause it was such a break from the first two and this song is the centrepiece of it. I can tell that it really grabbed you...lol. they never cease to amaze do they?
Absolutely in my own top 3 blues songs list. Do yourself a favour. start listening to these songs and groups on a really good sound system they will jump levels again in intensity.
"Immigrant Song" and "Celebration Day" are two bangers from LZIII, but "Since I've Been Loving You" is the piece de resistance on the album, to put it in fancy terms. One neat thing about LZIII that often gets overlooked is the album cover, which was cut with holes that let you see through to the rotatable disk inserted behind it and that you could turn by hand to see other pictures of the band and such, like the old board game Husker Du? (not the same as the 80's Minnesota rock band Hüsker Dü).
The live version of this at Madison Square Garden is incredible. The audience is in a trance the whole time.
Especially a guy who is a guard under scene. :) For me, he was high completely with some LSD or other drug. :)

Elevated blues, none were better than Led Zeppelin.
Joel Springman them and everyone else in the era.
Very arguably the best blues/rock track ever.
Great ESPECIALLY because it came out 50 YEARS AGO! A half a century ago. I grew up with 70’s music. I’m so lucky.
We’re both lucky. I discovered weed and Zeppelin at the same time back in ‘68. I was 17.

An Ultimate Zeppelin Blues song that's fast paced & ripping, "The Lemon Song"! I can tell you'd be blown away! I know it!☮️
