- Welcome back to KiaSS! Today, I'm back at BBM Sport to drive one of the most ridiculous cars I've ever seen! This is the Rolls Royce by Derelict. Underneath that stunning, British coachwork, is an American powerhouse...

What a car this Rolls Royce is!
Now, is this an incredible resto-mod, or sacrilege? 👇
I think it amazing
It a hot rod
It's totally cool. Some folks will eventually turn these old cars into electric vehicles in the future. While we're still celebrating the combustion engine, I think resto-modding a vehicle of this pedigree is totally fine. Some day she will waft again silently, for now she is getting up to speed 😁
@@sunchasertommy1355 they have already.
Amazing resto-mod. Life is so much better powered by a V8. I love the sound and the fact it blows away the usual silent wafting expectation a Rolls of this vintage would normally have. Brilliant.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You guys did a good job on that.👍👍
Thanks for creating this masterpiece! Xx
only rolls i'd buy
Love it!
So cool 😎
Another great video Jodie.
I find these special builds so much more interesting than all the latest supercar stuff.
It’s great to see beautiful old cars being re imagined in different and exciting ways. Did I mention that lovely V8 sound!!😛
Indeed! Very special xx
I am sick of the supercar stuff. Love Shmee, but there’s only 30 or 40 super cars and it gets boring. Love Jay Leno and Jodie.
When Jonathan Ward took this car to the old Hoonigan yard it was the coolest thing, he was dressed to the nines, explained his whole idea for the car, his inspirations, his experience with leather craft, and he even lifted Dan up so he could look into the engine bay lol
You had me smiling and I am not even behind the wheel!! Love how the tires fill the wheel wells.
Hi Jodie, The Americans stick those LS engines in all sorts of things now it’s an extremely versatile and well used tried and tested engine ( I believe) ! But makes that beautiful old RR very usable in the modern world . I suspect the fuel consumption is still on par with the original drive train but who cares if it sounds like that 😜 nice build I love it .👍
Indeed! Haha xx
Absolutely loved this, you made my day. I’ve watched Jonathan Wards build video so many times, this car is “naughty” but it’s amazing, it’s sticking two fingers up all the time! Thanks Jodie 👍🏻
Jodie saying “makes you smile” says it all for me. Cars should be enjoyed.
Another great video!
Yes! Thank you! xx
Dear Reg Wash.
Just wait until you have to fuel it up. Then the teal fun begins! 😱 😁 ;-)
Best regards, luck and health.
I would never get bored of that exhaust note!!
My dream cloud
Neither Greg xx
Has it got a misfire?
What a beast of a car. A true wolf in sheeps clothing. Every time I see that you have posted a video I just know it's going to be fantastic. Thank you Jodie you lucky lady x
Love the car and her enthusiasm for it is contagious.
This car was built by guru Jonathan Ward's ICON car company in California. The model series is called Derelict :-)
👏🏼
Love the car Jodie same year as I was born 1958 what a great year lol great video love your enthusiasm 😊
What a absolute beast of a car. Would be great fun cruise down the motorway at 50mph getting ready to embarrass some seriously quick cars. Great video again Jodie ! Your living the dream for sure !
I think that works really well, fits it's rock 'n' roll vibe of the OG car perfectly. Love it!
Indeed mark! Xx
The smiles and the chuckles, says it all, got to love a resto-mod, perhaps something a little smaller, like a Triumph 2000, naughty naughty Rolls😆
What a sleeper clap-trap! My favorite car with that power and sound... too bad this wasn't around decades ago, it would have been a great car for Sid Vicious. Another unusual car/drive video - just have to love that sound! It does remind me of the time my S1 muffler rotted out and fell off and I drove around for a few days like that - but I bet this car turns heaads! Good stuff.
Jonathan Ward is a favorite artist of mine. He has an impeccable eye for detail and is a true hot rodder and engineer at heart.
Indeed! xx
For me, the only problem with the Rolls was their heaviness but with this one it's solved 🤣
This essay is INCREDIBLE, congratulations Jodie 😍
Well done Jodie for featuring this car. I love the concept behind the car and the company all credit to Jonathan ward.
Thanks David, such a fun drive xx
the laughing is great and contagious, I was getting giddy myself
Hehe xx
Between “Jesus Bloody Christ” and your diabolical sounding laugh over the naughty engine, I’m still smiling! Oh how I would love to own that car.
That sounds great ! and so unexpected. love it x
Indeed! Xx
Fantastic video, that cars amazing. Nice to see you get to drive as well. Great Channel.
Jay Leno did a road test of this car about two years ago!
Did he? Cool! Xx
Elliot’s been very generous with his toys ! Awesome video Jodie.
He sure has Martin xx
the back seat looks like a nice place to play
That is totally fabulous. love it, want one!!! xxx
Nice work Jodie.
I was watching a video by a British counterpart of yours on the new Spectre, then tuned to this video.. Dare I say I prefer this 😂 Love the content, as ever, Kidd. Your channel absolutely rocks!!
Glad you're enjoying it! xx
Trust an Australian to Monaro a Roller. I wonder if it's ever been to Australia. Pity about our speed limits. The UK is a much better home. Great video Jodie.
Good to see this old banger going down the country lanes , ( I’m talking about the car btw ) so many wrongs but such a great thing to do , this car would have ended in someone’s barn to rot away completely but now it has a new lease of life , now they should restore the body and really turn heads with it , that raunchy growl coming from the car was amazing ( I’m still talking about the car ) although you were making all the right noises , can see the total enjoyment you get from all these cars you try out , great video again thanks
Regards Davy 🇹🇭
Thanks for the fast ride, that was great and you've got the formula. A few different camera angles, particularly of the road and seeing how the car drives from the drivers perspective and how the old smiths tachometer swings on the gas. Also as bigfancycar said otherwise a great video.
Haha thanks xx
Another great video Jodie.
Thanks xx
It most certainly is an incredible resto-mod & a breath of fresh air , different is good & it's unique, there is plenty of original Rolls's out there for the hardcore purists, this is for raising eyebrows in the most admiring fashion with a cheeky approving pout, I love this.
Indeed!! Xx
What a car !! Thanks for the upload.
Glad you enjoyed xx
That’s proper, what a great machine to waft to Goodwood in 🤩👍
Indeed Steven! Not so much of a wafter now xx
I absolutely love it. What a great video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
The genius of Jonathan Ward, love all the Derelicts. Perfect
So cool! Xx
So refreshing! Imagine HRH Prince Philip behind the wheel of this “Bad boy”!!! I love the whole Q car / Sleeper concept, close to stock looking, but those that know, know how special it really is... Brilliant! Another great film Jodie, keep them coming!
Couldn't agree more! xx
Cracking vid. Thanks for sharing this spanked Rolls.
Glad you enjoyed Duncan xx
Utterly bonkers. Love love love it! 😂
Haha me too xx
Wow,a real modern sleeper. Sounds great as well, you could beat lots off the lights.
Indeed! Xx
Hay love my Rolls love this set up proper Q car made me giggle great video thanks joddy
My dad and I were the original importers of this very car from the UK to the US in the early 1980's. I still have the original owner manual with the chassis number in it. The cosmetic CEO story is not entirely correct. The man was actually the President of a fruit and vegetable company in the UK and it was his personal car. The fruit company sent the car back to Rolls Royce and had them restore the car in the 1970's. After the restoration the company surprised him with the car. I have the check (somewhere) from the fruit company to RR for the restoration. It's great to see the car live on.
A review for the ages. Superb thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! xx
Sounds terrific. Love it. Makes me want to put a sports exhaust on my Arnage.
Do it Jonathan! Xx
🤣
Thanks for posting Kidd :-)
Glad you’re enjoying the channel! Xx
This is absolutely hilarious, love it!
Lol me too xx
Icon is iconic, some brilliant car's that he has turned out.
The smile on your face says it all! That beautiful ride is now a street rod!!! It's got a killer stance, the wheel and tire combo makes it look mean! I'm sure the purists are going nuts, but that's what hot rodding is all about! Thank you for sharing this with us, I've never seen one like this!!!
Pretty crazy Steven! Glad you enjoyed xx
Love when people have fun with cars. 👍
Who needs a super car, when you can have a super Roller mega🏁🏁 brilliant vid yet again👍
Incredible build and transformation, but I'm sure Rolls-Royce will have something to say! Remember Mr Cobb and his Spitfire engine car ?
🥲🤣
I would normally recoil in horror at the mere thought of such a thing, but somehow, I find this very attractive.
And it is strangely coherent. Not to mention the joy of leaving other motorists in your wake with goggling eyes.
Love that sound! 👍
Me too Andy! Xx
Utterly brilliant......love to do this to a Rolls born same year et moi.....nice 7 litre would benefit me and my workout ! Great video mate !
I love a sleeper car and this one even comes with the Smiths dials cooool, nice vid Jodie
I ❤ one off vehicles.
Makes them so unique.
I absolutely love it too. That Ls7 would be amazing in my Commer Cob 🤔 Now if my channel was a car channel I might get there. But its not. Keep on making these great videos Jodie. We love 'em. 👌Jamie
Don't know what a Commer Cobb is so I looked it up. Hell yeah that engine would go good in that thing.
@@jiveturkey9993 and how much would all that cost 🙈 I'd really need a very successful channel.
If you gave me a choice between this Rolls and a Ferrari, just handed me the keys, I would take this Rolls every time. Jonathan is hands down the greatest resto mod guy that ever lived. Would like to see him get his hands on an old Bentley and rebuild it from the ground up. What a great company!!
Modern Ferraris shout “Tiny penis!” While this one quietly whispers “Class.”
Wow my new Dream car ! Jodie rocks & that enthusiasm is very contagious !
Tatty Rollers forever 🎉
So amused to think about the Rolls Royce purists and concours clubs fuming about this sacrilege!
Who doesn't love an LS7?
Absolute joy! It’s like sponge cake and custard and ice cream and chocolate chip glee! Just brilliant. Find more madness like this! I don’t think you have revved another car more hahahahahaha!
Hahaha xx
That is just wrong, on so many levels. But I love that 'naughty little Rolls!" ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🔥🔥🔥🇺🇲Well-done Jodie and thanks for sharing. 👍
Haha it is naughty! Xx
I'm wondering why you would be driving a tank, then I see and hear the LS7. I get it now. The older folks who see and hear this car driving by must have had a mind melt.
4:22 love the valve covers
Haha right!!! Xx
Refreshingly good. I like the worn look 😍
I always loved that model Rolls too.
Bicycling thru Ft Myers Florida I had to wait for one to pass by. They had a chauffeur. With a cap! And a little old white haired lady passenger who must have been 90. I just stared.
She looked at me staring, then faced forward quickly.
Then a smile came over her face.
We were all pleased.
The car was perfect. Not a restoration. I’ll bet it was original.
Haha love it xx
One of the James Bond cars (in the books) was similar: the grey Bentley Continental, with a supercharged engine, called 'The Locomotive'. Almost at 100k subs, Jodie!
Not long now Gary :) x
That Rollssssss !! Super cool. 👍🏻
agreed Raymond! Xx
A proper giggle in that car, although the game is up once you touch the throttle, what a beautiful noise as neil Diamond once sang
Gorgeous xx
Sacrilege! You’ve made Charles and Henry shudder in their graves , Jodie! But on the other hand looks one hell of a lot of fun. Should imagine it it would get a lot of laughs at the Traffic Light Grand Prix , unexpectedly too ! Great fun .
Super cool, thanks for the ep.
Glad you enjoyed it Michael xx
Just watched ICON video on this actual car. The under skin restro is huge. A lot of work. But the oringinal patina is so right. Great idea to drive similar classics with such charactor.
Right on xx
What a treat! That's one rolls I wouldn't want to see driven into a swimming pool 🤙
The build was commissioned by an Australian owner (you can still see the Victorian plates on it during the build videos), saw it on carsales a few years ago - way out of my price range 😂 didn’t realise it was bought by someone back in the UK and sent over again. Great build though, gives it a new breath of life.
The antidote to Supercar Blondie! Good on you , Jodie .
Plenty of smiles per miles Jodie !!!!!!I thought it was going to have a Merlin or Griffon installed
Haha pretty epic Barry! Xx
Just Love this car....talk about a sleeper. Thanks for sharing.
Wow ! What a cool set up.
Epic right! Xx
@@KiddinaSweetShop I bet there's quite a few people out there who would like one of these. Including me !
If I didn't know better; I could almost imagine that that very nice Miss Kidd was rather enjoying herself in that Rolls Royce.
Of course, I realise such a thing to out of the question. Miss Kidd is a quiet, shy, dedicated motoring journalist. A very serious occupation, as we all know.
Right; I've had my head banged...what an outrageous car! I could definitely live with that. I'm not in the least surprised that Jodie had that "little bit in love" look on her face. A proper "Q" car if ever there was one! (Older readers will understand)
Coincidentally; I'm in the process of re-working my 2006 Lexus GS300 in similar vein. Not that mine could possibly compete in sheer outrageousness; but it still gives Ferraris and Porsches a hell of a shock! And it still looks like a gentleman's horseless carriage.
That Rolls though..bloody EPIC!!
Thanks Jodie; you're a Star 🌟
😂😂🤔 thanks so much xx
@@KiddinaSweetShop : you're very welcome. That Rolls really is a monster!
Might have been fun to whip it round a track; just for good measure.
Amazing. Love it
Glad you like it! xx
A gentleman with a hooligan's personality. Fun. Thanks, Jodie.
Indeed Simon! Xx
Brilliant car Jodie, thanks for sharing. I think l saw this car on the Jay Leno Garage a few years ago. Cheers, John.
Looks fabulous fun 😄
Love it !!!
What a fantastic car another brilliant video 🚘🚙🚗👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks Jimmy xx
Amazing project concept between Rolls Royce and Chevrolet Corvette , wow . Thank you so much for sharing my dear friend and have a great weekend , take care ! 🎩👏🏻🏆🏅👍🏻🏵️
Many thanks xx
I drove for a wedding car company in Perth WA who had a '57 Cloud. I always got the jobs driving the '49 Jag convertibles and wanted a job with the Cloud. My friends Mike and Zuzana were getting married. They chose the Cloud and I drove Zuzana to the venue. A privilege to drive such an iconic car on a wonderful day.
This Derelict Rolls brings memories to mind of the Sheiks "stock" Shadow in Cannonball Run. Now that car sounded Angry!! 🤬
Haha nice! Xx
Interesting content. Keep up the good work on your channel. Regards, WR4K.
Every Rolls deserves this treatment. Love this one especially with its connection to Victoria Australia.
The depth of your laugh says it all😀 You’re clearly having a real hoot. Love the car too. My sort of car.
I sure am Mark! Lovely car xx
Perfection.👌
Patina... yup
Low... yup
Engine... yup
Dream machine right there, ld drive the knackers off that thing daily.... ❤️
Got to love this old roller, perfect sleeper.
Couldn't agree more! xx
That might be the fastest Roller on the planet ??!!
Maybe! Xx
Fantastic!
Many thanks! xx
Yes 💪🏼🏆
🙌🏼
Brilliant job
Thanks....
This is the best car I've ever seen !
Totally sacreligious!
Totally excellent!
So wrong it’s right 😆
ICON really do great work.
Gotta love a sleeper!! Outstandingly insane!
Right??!!! Xx
