How to Fix the Star Wars Sequels

- Disney's Star Wars trilogy had plenty of issues, and while many were quick to point them out not so many have offered a solution on how to fix them. So I thought I would. In this video we look at how changing a few things can create a totally different story.

The problem wasn’t the characters. Every new character that was introduced in The Force Awakens had potential. The real problem was the stories that the characters were told in
The Last Jedi could have better if the Force Ghost of Anakin Skywalker appears to Kylo Ren right after his conversation with Rey and reveals his motivation why he chose the Dark Side to save his wife Padme but paid his ultimate price which could help Kylo redeem and back to the Light while Rey will turn to the Dark Side and BOOM! The circle is complete.
A fan edit called Journal of the Whills does exactly that.
The script that you made up is incredible, got myself super excited for the concept!
So underrated, personally, I'm also sad they missed out on Finn as the Main Character, because of his potential, tho it would not be needed for him to become a Jedi
I think rey turning to the dark side works really well because like you said palpatine is probbably the best manipulator in the galaxy so he could Easily turn rey to dark

Imagine if ben defeats rey by slicing her arms and legs off and isnt able to recover from it. It would be such a good parallel to anakins defeat. Also rey could accept that she is defeated and that she is wrong but doesnt get redeem in the same way as vader did.
Also i think it would have been cool if she is redeem, for palpatine to kill her realising that she has betrayed him.

The problem was keeping the story simple enough to follow while keep it exciting. Not easy but that's what we want - a compelling story that's a great ride. So the real issue was in the writing. The story was so convoluted that you didn't know what was happening and why the story went over there and why it went over here, etc. Throwing in a million star destroyers and bringing Palpatine back isn't what true Star Wars fans want. We want a good, well told story - that's it! All the clues are in the original trilogy and just good old fashioned storytelling. If the writing is top quality, everything else should fall into place with the director and actors and everyone else involved. Andor is the best Star Wars TV series ever made. You know why? Well, lots of reasons but it starts and ends with the writing.

I personally would have had Darth Plagueis return and be the villain instead of Palpatine.

Honestly. I would prefer it that after the last duel, ben would save rey from the destruction of exogul and rey turns back to the light side. It feels much nicer to end this way

I think having Palpatine there from the start is an interesting idea. I think your idea would improve some things but since you would be keeping so much of the original story intact it would still have a lot of problems

Although palpatine surviving is still weird, having Luke stay alive and defeating Palps helps keep some nice continuity as well as still give meaning for Anakins sacrifice as he saved Luke and restored balance, and then Luke ended it once and for all. I also like Luke and Ben rebuilding the Jedi order at the end as you can now bring in legends stories of Luke being Grandmaster Luke
If the Thrawn trilogy was adapted into EPs 7,8,9 who would play Han, Luke and Leia? Sebastian Stan plays Luke, Nathan Fillion plays Han and Carrie Fisher's daughter plays Leia
I heard Disney is recasting, Han, Luke and Leia for the Thrawn Trilogy.
Rey still needed development on how why she turns to dark side
Like this idea but to explain how palpatoots is alive I think rebels rouge one and resistance could be restructured to explain palpatine being alive like rogue one could have some stuff about accessing the netherworld of the force or something like that 🤷🏼♂️ just an idea also this is very good another thing I would add is Luke starting to train Finn with leia’s lightsaber or something 🤷🏼♂️.

The biggest fixes this trilogy needs are: Rey being a nobody (we never cared about Palpatine personal life) and Palpatine not coming back. I know TLJ is a bad movie and everybody hates it, but at least it tried to do something different.
I have been a fan since '77 after seeing "A New Hope" in the theater that year. With that being said I feel that "The Last Jedi" may be the worst movie I have ever seen and I have seen some bad ones. I have seen it once and have no desire to view it again and certainly not ever purchase it using my hard earned money for such a piece of trash. I fail to come up with even one redeeming thing about the movie. After that I really did not care to see "The Rise of Skywalker" but I relented and did and while it was not as bad as TLJ it did not miss by much.....lol
At least your plan keeps Luke alive! They never should've killed him off the way they did. I will never forgive Disney for that!
How was him dying like that bad? It’s the best way to kill him off. Looking at the sunset just like his journey started. And saving the resistance. How was his death bad? Lol it was perfect
7, 8, 9 - they are literally all bad movies. People who rate VII deserve crap of 8 & 9 by setting their standards so low.

You wanna fix the sequels? Simple! Adapted the Thrawn trilogy. Even George Lucas says The Thrawn trilogy are the true sequels to his original trilogy
