I absolutely agree about not mixing concierge guests with other staterooms even if you are from the same family. You pay a significant amount more for concierge, therefore there should be no workarounds, otherwise what’s the point of the up charge. I know I could be frustrating when families are in different rooms, but it is what it is. It’s not about snobbery, it’s about getting what you pay for,

Besides if they want family in same rooms then PAY for them all to be there lol. I totally agree with you. People just think they can do whatever to save money yet still get whatever they want when they want it.

There would definitely be a family every cruise that drags their entire screaming clan and the friends they met on the splash pad up to Concierge every day otherwise.

When our 3 year old fell on the floor and hit her head cracking the skin above the eye the concierge made sure we got to the dr in speed time and since our 3 year old wanted him there he stayed there with her and us making sure everything went well Thank God no stiches but she fell asleep in his arms Bugars and blood all over him and he carried her back all over to our room Eric you amazing we love you and we love Disney!!

did concierge on the magic on november 8th and they are starting something new on the cruiseline. concierge had a moving bar cart at 5pm every day. you could order whatever you wanted at no extra charge as well as charcutery from palos and flavored popcorn bites. and our room steward said that they are starting this on all boats.

I LOVE this!!! Thank you for the advice on tipping. On our last cruise, over Halloween, non-concierge, my friend and I each took ten thank you notes, wrote a note of gratitude, added ten dollars to each envelope, and randomly passed those out to CM's we saw; and many went above and beyond, so that was hard! In addition, we each tipped our room host and each server 50.00. In addition to gratuities paid through our folio. These people work so very hard selflessly to make us feel like royalty. As much as I love the parks, I am avoiding the parks for the next year and have several cruises booked. With that said, the amazing Elaine Edwards was able to book us Concierge, stateroom 11000, floor-to-window on the Wish! I can't say enough about Dreams Unlimited and the amazing Elaine Edwards!!!!

I am limited to cruises on school breaks so the price difference is huge for concierge, at least double a Family Verandah. I can't really tell what value there is for Concierge other than a supposedly higher level of service and advance booking for Castaway cabanas, shore excursions, etc. Our last cruise on the Dream (last week) was 6k for 4 nights and concierge would have been 17k.

Thanks for this video. Pete, your comments about DCL concierge vs. other Disney concierge is spot on and not something I hear others talk about often. I got tired of paying a premium for WDW concierge when that service went downhill (IMO). I stopped taking the twice a year park vacations and opted for mainly cruise vacations close to 10 years ago. Like Pete, I have never had anything but a superior experience with DCL Concierge. There are some expected perks for sure, but the service and attention to each concierge passenger and family is hard to explain unless you have sailed with them. (Is it wrong that my favorite part is express departure???)
True, it’s not cheap, but when I price out a club experience at the Grand or other Deluxe property, the cost is often less for a week on DCL - and the service and attention to detail surpasses any WDW resort club level experience. Pre-pandemic, we also had the opportunity to pair a cruise with an excursion package through Adventures by Disney (in Europe and Alaska). Independently, the two experiences are amazing, but together, they created vacations we will never forget.
FYI-Palo is only available in the Royal suites now, but the 1BR, 2BR and Royals can all have any main dining room meal (breakfast and dinner) delivered to the room. We stayed in a Royal suite on the Magic in Dec and had full breakfast delivered each day. That was awesome!

I very much appreciate the advice on tipping. I am considering my first DCL Concierge cruise (after 15 standard DCL cruises) and it is very frustrating to not have any guidelines or other suggestions regarding tipping. One other thought I have had is the non-refundability of the concierge deposit. If I book a concierge room for myself only, how late can I add other Guests (up to the room limit of course). My thinking is if my other roommates fail me, I can swap them out for other friends/family. Does that make sense? Thanks for a great video, I will be booking through Dreams Unlimited if I decide to pull the plug!

When I was in concierge, I did not use the concierge staff. They are available but we did not need them. We did not book any excursions, no cabanas, and no dinner reservations. Although this is their job and not a tip based task. We did not make any special requests. We booked it for priority embarkation, the size of the room and to utilize the private deck and be able to get drinks and food from the lounge which was right across from our room. We truly enjoyed ourselves. We had to disembark by 8:00am. We did not get to go when we were ready. So we tipped $50 for our 4night cruise. We felt this was fair since we did not use them and we did not request anything above or beyond their required services. I feel that it is not our job to make up the difference in their salary. That is DCL’s job. However, if they go above and beyond then I will tip more. After talking with one of the concierges they did disclose that they are paid very well by DCL. So they are not getting small salaries. However, this will not stop me from giving tips when the staff goes over and beyond their expected responsibilities.

We just returned from a seven day cruise on the Fantasy, where we were in concierge, and we cannot express how truly special it was! Andy even sang Happy Birthday in German to my wife on her Birthday, and we loved visiting with our traveling bartender Martin each night, and hearing about his homeland of Jamaica! We were even able to secure a cabana for both days, during our double dip on Castaway Cay, with the help of our concierge team. Needless to say, we tipped everyone, more than we have ever tipped anyone in our lives! LOL
