That's awesome. Simple and clean. And it was nice to see I'm not the only one having issues with equipment. That's what set your videos apart from the others.
You are a inspiration to me thank you very much for all of your videos. You are easy to understand and very informative. My wife and I have had her part-time business for about 7 years. We did the whole vinyl Cricut thing when it started, as well as small items with a glowforge and I just got a nova 35 and going to quit my FT job in a few months when our 1st baby comes and do lasering for a living. When I started researching thunder, I found you, and I'm so glad I did. Again, great videos, buddy. Glad I got to see you again!
That tractor window is a good place for a baby picture. It would be pretty simple to make a little stand so people can use it as a picture frame later.
Thanks for sharing. I strongly agree that LB is much better software than xcs. The only good thing about is the camera feature. Suggestion. I wanted to share that my computer is in a different room than my machine. I can still use LB to run my P2. I use a usb over ethernet adapter with a 50ft ethernet cable. Works fine for me.
Thanks Matt I enjoyed your video. Getting my first laser delivered on monday it's an ikier 36w diode. I'm hoping that's a OK laser to start with .I would love to get to where your at someday. I'll be watching and learning. Cheers!!
Thanks Matt! I love the tractor idea. Just getting started on engraving. I love it. What was that glue recommendation? I couldn’t catch it in the video.
If you run a CAT5 cable directly between your laptop and laser (not via a router), you might need a “crossover” cable or adapter. Been a long while since I’ve tried connecting devices this way, but there might be other settings to make on the laptop and device (laser) so that they can see each other over the tiny, two-device network network you’ve created by running an Ethernet cable directly-for instance that the subnet mask and Ethernet addresses are right, and that the computer is using the Ethernet port and not WiFi. So that’s two thins to try-the network settings, and the cable. You might need either or both. Generally, connecting both devices to a router is far easier, as the router will provide the settings to the devices and you won’t need a special cable. There was another comment here about 5 v. 2.5. That is related to WiFi, and not Ethernet.
What kind of plywood do you on these types of projects? I’ve had problems with voids and things not cutting cleanly every time ive ever tried to buy 4x8 sheets of thinner plywood locally
Yo Matt. Does your router have a dual band connection? As in does it automatically switch between 5 & 2.4 connection? My S1 would not stay connected to my network and I had to go into my network and adjust it to be two different networks with a dedicated 2.4 connection for my S1.
i have a question, but it may be more than can be answered here on UA-cam. if you are starting out on a limited budget would you get a k40 type LASER or would you get a LED LASER
I've watched a few of your videos and I have enjoyed them, but I was struck by what a bad idea it is to paint wood inside of your expensive laser. I fail to see any advantage to doing that, and it opens the possibility to problems occuring.

Matt, thank you. It's nice that you show us the fails in addition to the nice end product. I've learned a lot from you!
Thanks and I am glad to help.
Really appreciate you showing all the real challenges engravers face.
Absolutely 😃

I really appreciate your videos and your willingness to show us the basics!
Thanks 😊
My guy, I’m just getting into laser engraving trying to get into that full time spot, just followed thanks for the tips
It's always real with you Matt! Enjoy your videos. Having fun running my Thunder 35/100.
Thanks. I love my 35/100

That is a brilliant idea
Thanks Matt! Looking forward to the rest of this series!

Thanks. The glue is in the description
your a rockstar Matt
Thanks

Great video
I would like to ask what kind of paint did you use ?
PPG out door
what kind and brand of paint is that you are using?
Outdoor paint
What kind of plywood do you on these types of projects? I’ve had problems with voids and things not cutting cleanly every time ive ever tried to buy 4x8 sheets of thinner plywood locally
I got the second cut stuff from HoneDeopt. 1/4 inch birch but it’s actually .20 mm

I didn’t even think of that. Thanks I will check that out.
Just bought a K40 . Im a diode guy till now. Any tips ? Appreciate your work and effort. Keep it up.
Have patience and you will be fine
Are you just using interior latex or something like acrylic paint?
I use ppg exterior paint. 😃
Matt do you cut mild steel or stainless with your lasers?
No
i have a question, but it may be more than can be answered here on UA-cam. if you are starting out on a limited budget would you get a k40 type LASER or would you get a LED LASER
That’s a toss up
Good job Matt. Name of glue?
Thanks. It’s in the description.
Why would you paint it inside the laser?? BRAVE, That would never work for me lol paint everywhere
but why wouldn't you just make adjustments and cut the same board again instead of wasting it?
I did. It was charring the edges, so bad I didn’t want to use it. I also like to show all my mistakes because I’m not perfect.
Does this laser have air assist?
Yup. It’s built in. I had it at 100% for cutting
@@laserengravingwithmatt Thanks Matt

Thanks 😃 painting with a brush won’t hurt your laser. Spray paint I would never recommend. 😃
@@laserengravingwithmatt well I guess if you've never had an accident in your entire life, you're a better man than I am. Carry on.
Sorry but way too much pointless talking
Thanks 😃
Another great video Matt. Love your content and thanks again for replying to my email. DC
Thanks. 😃 no problem
