  • My submission for Day 8 of Jamuary 2025. For this one, I tried emulating the style of breakbeat music often used in 90s racing video games.
    Audio-only version available at: / lz3a3pa4c6v7dgwz8
This was played using hardware synthesizers together with Ableton Live. All sequences are played in live with the exception of the drum patterns and the acid sequence which were prepared in advance.
A rough breakdown of what gear is used and how:
    Synths & Sound Modules
    Roland JP-8000 -- Solo lead
Behringer Model D -- Bass synth
Behringer Neutron -- Sample & hold drone
    Roland Fantom XR -- Strings
    Roland SH-32 -- 303 style acid pattern
    Guitar
Fender Jaguar CP Special HH -- Guitar
Fender Mustang III v2 -- Amp
Dunlop Cry Baby -- Wah Pedal
MXR Dyna Comp -- Compressor Pedal
    Midi Stuff
Yamaha YPG-625 -- Controller for Ableton Live Suite's stock Electric Piano instrument.
Synthstrom Deluge -- Used for sequencing the Roland SH32
Roland TR-8 -- Used as a MIDI controller. The faders control the volume of the individual drum tracks, and the knobs do... a whole bunch of things but mainly control effects within Ableton. No sound is coming from the TR-8
Ableton Push 3 -- For launching clips (running in controller mode)
    Other
Chauvet Gigbar 2 -- Lights (Controlled using an android tablet just out of frame below the TR-8)
