I don't know about the character, but the real one is named after the designer John Moses Browning and was manufactured in Belgium by the FN company . The model FN 1910 is the weapon that started World War 1. He sure is tiny.
@@GhostPrimeReviews To make it look less like a real weapon and more like a squirt gun. Realistic guns were seen as not a great idea for kids toys by that time. That is why we never saw it in the US.
I should have been more clear. Yes the gun is a Browning based off thenguy who made them. I just thought its funny they colored him brown in the show. @Indominus-Prime
@@l.a4453 I do know the origin. As I mentioned in the video, my buddy brought over his real Browning to show me. This was before I made the video. I do appreciate people correcting me on tings I do not know though.
@@GhostPrimeReviews - Bro, you didn't say it like a joke intonation very well and came off as stating a fact. Society has conventions of humor and straight man play and intonation and other tools to come off as humor. Nor did you set a tone of silly fake facts. You surrounded your speech with facts, drop something wrong as a "joke" and then more facts? No. I agree that you were joking, but that wasn't pulled off well at all.
He looks so much more like Megatron than the G1 toy. It's great that they made him small for the show. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a call back to the Microman toys that the original G1 toys were based on. I was explaining the original story for the toys to my son the other day and he was mesmerized. Tiny cybernetic humans from another dimension came to our world and hid in plain sight as toys. If you think about the first Transformers toys it makes more sense as there were only one of at least a few of the cars that the G1 Transformers turned into. A kid could have a toy of one on his shelf but nobody would be driving one around in the eighties. Wheeljack, Mirage, and Jazz all turn into cars that are based on vehicles that were custom made and only had one in existence. The Lambo brothers would have had a hard time disguising themselves as there were so few owned that they would stand out in public. Someone having toys of those vehicles made perfect sense, though. The robots were able to speak but were totally controlled by humans and not sentient. That's why the G1 vehicles open up and have room to hold a tiny human.
I had the original as a kid and picked up the KO several years ago. I always liked his bot mode/transformation so much more than Megatron. Anyway, Glad to have this. It’s as good as any of the Takara Reissues and fills that void from my childhood.
Bought mine around November last year, almost missed out but I'm so glad I didn't. Browning proves to be a great Microman figure that should've been a year one Transformer, missed opportunity on Hasbro's part, but I kinda understand why they wanted Megatron to be THE only gun robot there.
Browning came out before 88 … as you stated originally part of microchange. Microchange was canceled by 1985. I do have a couple which are unfortunately second hand and are broken.
@@GhostPrimeReviews So it was a re-release in Takara's Masterforce in 88. I barely remember that line as most imports into the U.S. for that died down by then. Early Microchange as a kid I could find in indoor as well as regular flea markets .. along with Machine Robo toys.
@@GhostPrimeReviews As a kid I lived in NJ and my parents would take me to U.S. Rt.1 Indoor fleamarket in New Brunswick. They had a lot of direct imports they sold there from Microchange to Go-Lion. I remember the microchange tapes (condor..jaguar..and robots) were $3. a piece or 2 for $5.
I got it on FB Marketplace. They were all over the place a year or so ago. I'm late to the party on this one. Like I mentioned in the video, I hope they do another run. If they ever do, I'll update the description

I was about to say the same. His name has nothing to do with the brown color. It's just that his alt mode is a browning pistol.
Yup. Takara colored it brown in the show. Though.

@@droiduseruserdroid1731 Didn't know that about Japan, but makes sense for sure. Thanks!
Yeah, I loved that explanation of the name. Seemed that he pulled that out of his 🍑.
He was named browning because that is the type of gun, not because of the color. You can look these things up.
Yes. I know that. Thought it was funny that they colored him brown in the show to match the name. I should have been more clear
He's not called Browning "because he's brown". He's called that because he transforms into a Browning M1910 pistol.
Yeah hearing that hurt the soul a bit. Though it could have been a joke this is the first video from this guy I've seen
I should have been more clear. Yes the gun is a Browning based off thenguy who made them. I just thought its funny they colored him brown in the show. @Indominus-Prime
Just thank the people for giving insight on the origin. It's ok not to know everything

Great robot design, no wonder IDW used it as the basis for their Megatron.
Packaging is time period accurate and neat.
Thx for sharing this. I can see the G1 Megatron Missing Link being fixed like the hip/trigger and the nozzle could be moved to its correct location.
That's an interesting idea for sure. I do hope Takara does a ML Megatron

Great review! What outlet did you purchase him on? Thanks for the video.
I got this one on FB Marketplace. It's been out a while now.
Thanks you!!!
I don't recall ShowZ Store carrying this?

Completely agree!
great! get me excited about a figure I've never heard of before and then I go to ebay and it's $1200, lol :)
Keep a lookout for thr KO, it's much, much cheaper
@@GhostPrimeReviews it was the KO that I saw that was 1200 ! but I do see looking further that there are some in the $120 range at least
Nice computer recreation of the G1 opening !
Thanks! I have a few different versions on some older videos.

Yes he came out in Microchange in 83. But 88 is when it was introduced into Transforers in Masterforce

Found your channel, what's the review box you use? I like the glyphs and all, very Assassin's Creed like.
Thanks! It's made out of foam. An old friend made it for me shortly after starting my channel. It's pretty cool
Where was this available from? Fist seeing it
It was available at a lot of places a year or so ago. I got this one off of FB marketplace.
wished they released the revolver figure lol
Oh yeah, Id love all the gun robos! They are very pricey now though.
Very nice!
Homie... they make risers. Cool vid but get risers.
I have a couple of different types in there on some shelves. I'm in the process of rethinking detlofs altogether, though.
I'm not a gun guy atcall but come on, even i know why he's called Browning lol
Yes. He was called Browning because thats the gun manufacturer. That's why I called the real gun Browning in the review. I should have been more clear though
He Is the companion of the head master of the decepticon double dealer
Sqeezplay. Or in Masterforce "Cancer"
It's not called browning because it was brown in the cartoon 🤣🤣 it's A Browning M1910 pistol, named for the designer John Moses Browning.
Yes. It was a joke. Sorry you're too stupid to understand.
Yes. I do call the real one that in the video. However, I thought it was funny he's colored brown in the show. I should have been more clear
Yeah I just looked this mf up and even the ko is $1250. I thought about snatching that up, but no way in HELL 😒
I just recently bought this for 90, the KO is going up in price sure, but I've seen it on ebay for ~150ish.
found if funny you said friend broughhis actual Browning gun and the name didn't click to you lol
Thats why I said it dude.
