"enjoy the process, keep repeating the process of conceptualizing, filming, editing and finishing"..Great advice! It's a sure formula for success! Good Job!
Hearing your story and the grind you put in to get to where you are today is inspiring bru! It's really all about getting out and shooting something, persisting even when you think no one is watching, but most importantly, enjoying the creative process and learning as you go - all the money and opportunities that come as a result of the time and effort is just an awesome by-product of it all made sweeter if it's something that makes you genuinely happy (like every single thing you're willing to spend you time on in life). Keep up the motivation for 2020 and looking forward to your b-roll segment on shooting a model, cheers;)
Just discovered your channel, i think through a UA-cam recommendation, just subscribed super interesting and entertaining . I'm binge watching all of your stuff now. Cheers
This video just took my breath away. I have been struggling in quite the same niche, lifestyle travel, and the confidence was just fading away, due to the reasons mentioned in your video. I always felt I am way behind those content creators whom we follow, and that I will never be able to reach somewhere even close to them. Your video changed my perspective. So practical. Wish I had a mentor like you. Hats off man! You rock.
I loved this video and I always say, you don't know what will happen ten years from now. look at you, now the companies are calling you and you are making money on something you love.I have a UA-cam channel and I started cooking on my videos. I have been watching your videos and learning as much as I can to make my videos better. I bought the lighting, bought the Mac BookPro, bought theEpidemic Sound ,bought the Zoom H5 hand recorder, and I'm waiting to receive my camera. It's been less than a year since I started, and I love doing it.I try to make a video every Monday when I'm off.Thank You so much and God Bless you and your girlfriend. You both deserve the world.Happy fourth of July.
I like at the end how you say “put in the hard work, and you can absolutely do this” I started last month and am already having success because of videos like yours! *Casual binge watching ensues*
thanks for the tips man! I always like to subsidize my vacations / trips my finding clients ahead of time at the place I'm traveling too, and then usually at the very least I can almost pay for like a 2 week trip my spending one day while i'm there shooting for a client.
Like when I went to Maui I met the sickest dude who I shot this video of his car for free (because I really wanted to) ua-cam.com/video/xew_VJDSRHM/v-deo.html but because of that he hired me to shoot his zipline in Maui so we got a free day of zip lining and I got paid!
Thanks bra you da man. Would be amazing to see some of your early day footage - your first few paid or sponsored deals. I think a lot of us are just insecure we can create content good enough without having done it before! And what type of gear you felt comfortable doing paid work with!
Its really easy to go with your flow and the way you express, I like that you take out the mystery of all this and actually stress the fact that is a matter of effort and time.
Maybe you should do a part two on how to sell footage for licensing? That I'm curios about! And, how to film specifically for licensed footage? Cheers! xx
Been watching all your vids. And I've learned so much. I am going to apply what i learned from you. I am a mobile film maker. Wish me luck. Looking forward for more videos from you 😊
Just found your page a few minutes ago and this was helpful. I want to get into photography and video creation . How much do you make money from selling stock footage? You should do a whole video on it or dm me if you can.
Yeah man this is sick, so good to see a homie making it, and you're actually humble, unlike some other SA cats haha. Just don't knock Hannah up and you'll be good!
Hey Sean, the part where you are licensing your footage to record labels, etc. - sounds cool to me. But, how did you actually do all that 'licensing' process?
What do you think the future holds for content creators? Do you think that it’ll still be worthwhile 10 years from now if you’re just getting started? Just curious on your thoughts
It would be helpful to hear about some of the tools you used for licensing your content to the travel industry examples you mentioned. Also - did you make use of any of the facebook advertising tools?
The majority of the time it is just directly with the buyer of someone that contacts me looking for my type of footage. But a few of my friends have been pretty successful with Blackbox so I definitely recommend it!
Sean Kitching Nice i just applied to Blackbox, hey im really new to making videos I’d like if you have 2 minutes to go watch my last travel video and let me know what you think? Do i have potential :) ? Thnx have a good day!
Hey bro! Love your journey, similar to mine but you're further along. Wondering if you could share your process for finding customers to license you content to? Cheers 😊
I really love this, thank you so much for your knowledge. Im actually a motivational speaker and I create content! I also have gotten a couple dollars of income from people.
I am just starting my content creation journey and this was the most heart touching video for me. Really boost up for my journey.😎 ❤❤❤ From Sikkim (India)❤❤❤. Visit our place, I promise you, you will never regret it and please make a video on how to shoot music videos. 🙏🙏🙏🤝
Been passionate for this from the moment I clicked a good shot, but was so unlucky to buy a good mobile phone or a camera. Now I am 30 and i bought a gimbal, a smartphone (s9+) 😀 and I am now practicing shooting and all. Big thanks to you Sean that I have a bunch of your videos in my favorites about how to shoot cinematic b rolls, how to edit etc. Love from india 💓 Here is my first practice video I shot, no color correction, color grading, transition effects instagram.com/tv/B-cMkT2niTF/?igshid=xch9yeaf0v5p

Thanks so much. Could you speak abt how you think abt pricing? I find it a struggle to propose a price for my services. Are there industry benchmarks?

Just don't knock Hannah up and you'll be good!
Learned so much from you man and your other videos, you had me at the "Philippines" hahaha my favorite Country. Liked and Subed.
Could you Film a video about free editing programms for beginners and how to edit with those
Great info but one thing, How do I know how much to charge them, if they reach out or how do I negotiate a price?
Take a look at the average cost for what you do in your area, and you can decide what you feel your work is worth from there.

Hey man! Question, do you sell your stock footage directly to agency’s or do you use something like blackbox that takes care of it ?
The majority of the time it is just directly with the buyer of someone that contacts me looking for my type of footage. But a few of my friends have been pretty successful with Blackbox so I definitely recommend it!
Sean Kitching Nice i just applied to Blackbox, hey im really new to making videos I’d like if you have 2 minutes to go watch my last travel video and let me know what you think? Do i have potential :) ? Thnx have a good day!

Nice video.
Gracias
👍
Stop saying " like" so much.
It's immature and unprofessional, especially when you are trying to coach others
Hy. I am from indonesian youtuber
I m steps behind you but keep my very first steps on youtube
I like more your videos than Peter McKinnon, your teaching model is strongest, have a better logical sequence
