I would recommend “The Last 10 Years” by Kenny Rogers, but I don’t know if it is too dated.
I love the last ten years... it's probably my favorite out of his 'newer' music. His stuff from the eighties will always be my favorites, though.

Funny story - living on base we had a huge open area behind our homes on a circle and my son would go out back and hit tennis balls with his bat back and forth off and on during the summer...this song so reminds of that...we also did a video of pictures of his first year in baseball to this song...

That was my son’s favorite song when he was little. I went to pick him up from my mama’s house after work one day and he kept singing this song & I had no idea who sang it & had never heard it. When I heard it, I fell in love with it. I have been thinking about it since I heard he passed away.
