That will be the next mod I do, before bumpers. 1. Wheels/tires 2. lift/uca's 3. Spare relocate 4. Rock sliders 5. LR aux gas tank. 6. Skids 7. roof rack 8. Bumpers front then rear. 9. Anything else I feel like.
Ran into a similar issue with RCI skid.. I went with Slee off-road full skid..for 3rd gen Tundra.. RIC is still very much a good product..apart from lead times can be a bit long.. After market parts / mods issues to be expected... Just to have to work around some stuff..
I don't own a Lexus and I don't off-road, but, "What the F is the point of a skid plate, that does NOT cover the ENTIRE component that it's marketed to 'protect'? Not expecting it to be hermetically sealed, but the design and execution seem very poorly thought out.........especially when compared to the OEM. Shows me, that many (but not, "all") of these, "off-road" accessories are expensive examples of, 'style over substance'.
You don't skid on the front top edge of the tank, or any of the vertical faces. That said the openings for rocks are a huge oversight and reinforce my theory that RCI skids for the 460 are an afterthought. They're T4R parts that happen to work here, not that this issue doesn't exist on both.

Those skids look my Tacoma skid plates. I have RCI aluminum also. Have to save weight.
Ever thought about the Long Range GX auxiliary tank? Having 47 gallons of fuel is quite something lol
