Ganso had a knee injury in 2010/11 and after that, never was the same player he was at his "peak". One of the biggest what if's here in Brazil is "what if Ganso never had that knee injury?"
@@lubomirgenov4346 The Brazilian media still hyped Ganso a lot even knowing of his injury record 10 years ago, but Seedorf spoke in good Portuguese at a local program that he wouldn't make it in Europe unless he ramped up his intensity or if he became more dynamic. The rest of the story we already know.
This hit my hard. I saw Freddy adu play live for Philadelphia Union and he was levels above anyone in his team. Also saviet signing for the toon was a disaster, we forgot he was there
U could say Freddy played his best ball for the Union he came in like our 2nd yr we didn't really have shit going on beside him and Sebastian Le Toux up top for a mad link up
I5 seems to be their mentality. They lack a proper stubborn mentality. So when they hit Europe and see the party life and massive money they all suddenly loose motivation, and focus. Not all. But most.
Kerlon was my favourite I seen him do his seal dribble amazing. Unfortunately didn’t work out for him did sign for inter but never got a game shame really
So many you could pick for future parts. Sadly often, a combination of unlucky timing, bad injuries and things just not working out can make or break a career at a young age. Even some of the world's best players that did live upto their hype (at least to some degree) suffered from this, suffering a key injury that meant they were never the same again (Owen could be considered a good example).
Ganso was incredible for me in a save with Santos back in the day! Going back to CM03/04 I signed a kid called Ryan Wilkie and he went onto win me Champions Leagues and was a Scottish national team hero. In reality I don't think he ever progressed past the Liverpool youth team 💔
Wow. Now that is a great idea. Fill up non league with failed wonder kids all the same starting age, lock them in from ever moving clubs, and see how many divisions they climb before they retire.
The best player I ever signed was Antonio Cerrajero, a 14-year-old from Atletico Madrid on FM2007. I never looked at the database back then due to running the game on a potato, so I have no idea if he had a fixed PA or if he just turned out good in the only save I had on that edition. I got over 50 season into that save before my potato fried.
Fierro will always be an icon for me, as a Guadalajara fan, he scored a late winner that domino-affected us winning the league that year. A solid talent that never had the work ethic to properly shine, a great player Mexico missed for sure 🇲🇽
In FM 08 was Marvin Angulo RB, Bogdan Stancu ST, Gabriel Torje RW I think and Pablo Piatti such a shame that they never did more in professional football also Dawid Janczyk was wasted talent. Greetings to all "football managers"😊
Something that is always crossed my mind that would probably tempt me if I worked for SI. Do you think they've ever boosted someone's in an attempt to affect the real world. Choosing some young academy player with a bit of flair and claiming he's the next Messi would definitely get some clubs looking. We saw how Sky Sports used FM stats to compare others it's not impossible teams are using it for real scouting.
There's was a Tranmere Rovers striker named Harry Farley that in FM21 would not consistently be a wonderkid of Premier League quality. It was either not improve and be a semi-pro quality player or a Premier Leaguer in that game randomly in saves. He has seemingly disappeared in later games and from Transfermarkt (which means probably well down the non-league game).
Henri saviet man, i love that guy, him messi and bojan on the front three of my barca save in fm 08 was perfect. Every fm iteration i checked out henri saviet because i miss that guy so much
I still remember the program where Seedorf (who had played for Botafogo) and some other reporters were discussing if Ganso was ready to play on Europe, the reporters thought he was the biggest new thing but Seedorf managed to shut them up, saying he was too slow and couldn't keep up with the speed of European football.
Naci Ünüvar should be on the next list tbh he went from someone I’d buy every year to someone who I completely forgot about and then I’d check my fm 22 save to see where he was and he was nowhere near the 5 star prospect he promised to be and in real life he’s also nowhere near Ajax first team
Freddy Adu played against against England for USA at one point and when he played poorly and failed to live up to his touted hype in FM the British tabloids ran with the headline "Much Adu about nothing". Savages.
Most of these players either went through serious personal problems (Bojan for example), injuries that dampened their careers (Ganso) or just didn't have the opportunity to play regularly in a good team and show their football in the case of Saivet, so just calling them failures is really unfair and douchey
Freddy Adu....such hype only to end like this.. the worst part is Benfica had a below average team at the time and was possible to see a positive impact whenever Adu was on the pitch.
I genuinely wonder what was left out about these players Bojan and Messi are distant cousins and Bojan’s anxiety isn’t mentioned at all which kinda suck :(
He’s not his cousin - it’s like they have the same great-great-great-grandfather ffs. And I didn’t go into the reasons of any of the players because that’s not what the video is about…
@@stephenking8505 real life or FM? I remember him scoring 100+ goals a season for me but I don't remember him even scoring a few professional goals for any side

Eder Alvarez Balanta has to be in part 2. He was an absolute tank at CB from FM 13/14/15
So true there was a good few years where I’d buy him right away in my save
RIP
Amazing CB!
Always cheap aswell
Humam Tariq was world class at fm 15
Ganso had a knee injury in 2010/11 and after that, never was the same player he was at his "peak". One of the biggest what if's here in Brazil is "what if Ganso never had that knee injury?"
I have signed him a lot on fm2012 he was great, but very injury prone.. it seams fm got that right too
@@lubomirgenov4346 The Brazilian media still hyped Ganso a lot even knowing of his injury record 10 years ago, but Seedorf spoke in good Portuguese at a local program that he wouldn't make it in Europe unless he ramped up his intensity or if he became more dynamic. reminds me of Derrick Rose
Ganso"s coach said that Ganso didnt wanted to train much. When Neymar got his kid, Ganso joined him in celebration of babys birth instead of training.
Sadly true for a large number of promising talents in football.
This hit my hard. I saw Freddy adu play live for Philadelphia Union and he was levels above anyone in his team. Also saviet signing for the toon was a disaster, we forgot he was there
U could say Freddy played his best ball for the Union he came in like our 2nd yr we didn't really have shit going on beside him and Sebastian Le Toux up top for a mad link up
Hachim Mastour is also a failed wonderkid, just to add to that list.
Bojan and Giovanni dos Santos, were crazy in fm08. CRAZY.
Kerrison in fm09 was an absolute beast. 30+ goals every season
So many Brazilian failed wonderkids...
I5 seems to be their mentality.
They lack a proper stubborn mentality.
So when they hit Europe and see the party life and massive money they all suddenly loose motivation, and focus.
Not all. But most.
Weird transfer, just like Christensky.
Part 2 is very much needed here
Keep up the incredible content
Need a part 2 with Nicolas Milan and Sherman Cardeneas
Fierro was my go to striker in FM12 and 13. Absolutely prolific. You should do a part 2.
Him and Sanogo
Anthony van den Borre in FM 2007 was a must-have in your squad!
babacar too
I'd have to add Enes Ünal to this list. Has actually gone on to have a decent career in Spain but was an absolute worldbeater on FM14-16
if I'm not mistaken...he came from Man City right??
@Boney __ they signed him based on the hype but he didn't come through their academy
I was shouting at my phone saying he's got to include Henri Saivet! Great list! I'd love a part 2!
G'wan, give us a part 2.
Also, that awkward moment where the 3D for the Fierro goal was as good, if not better than FM23's engine
👀
The commentary with the all the photos makes this an amazing video. Well done clayts
Thank you - a lot of work went it!
Kerlon was my favourite I seen him do his seal dribble amazing. Unfortunately didn’t work out for him did sign for inter but never got a game shame really
Loved Kerlon
Leandro damiao is another good shout, most likely spelt that incredibly wrong

El gol es en el que Campestrini la regala?
Loved this video fella. Brought up all the feels of previous FMs
Cheryl Samba (Argyle legend) has to be in part 2 and how's about Lauri Dalle Valle.
Loved this video ! The music, your tone of voice, the drawings as pictures, you got everything right ! Would love a part 2 !
I really liked this video! Really hoping for a part 2! 🙏 Amazing job!
You guys missed Maxim Tsigalko, an absolute legend on CM03/04.
my favorite wonderkid was Tonton Zola Moukoko back in CM days. I wonder if he's related to yosouffa moukoko? 🤔
He was unstoppable as a 17 year old in 99/00 for derby
In FM 08 was Marvin Angulo RB, Bogdan Stancu ST, Gabriel Torje RW I think and Pablo Piatti such a shame that they never did more in professional football also Dawid Janczyk was wasted talent.
Greetings to all "football managers"😊
Carlos Fierro and Erick Torres, the Mexican duo I always signed during that period.
you cant make one of these and not include the legend that is Cherno Samba and Supat Rungratsamee! Part two, i hope we see them both :D
Thats a real FM player talking 🫡
Both of them is real player
Not to mention Joseph Dodo.
Always knocking in goals galore.
Yet in real life he is always in the lower leagues.
Something that is always crossed my mind that would probably tempt me if I worked for SI. Do you think they've ever boosted someone's in an attempt to affect the real world.

The media painting Bojan as "the next Messi" when he's only 3 years younger hilarious. He even retired before Messi too.
Valeri Bozsinov was a bulgarien wonderkid too in early fm but he has not been a player like Stoichkov!
Love the new video style. Great watch as always!
How time flys. Brilliant work. Tell me part 2 features Dória 😂
There was another player in FM11 alongside Neymar who was set to be a star. Ryder Matos. Man was a beast
Henri saviet man, i love that guy, him messi and bojan on the front three of my barca save in fm 08 was perfect. Every fm iteration i checked out henri saviet because i miss that guy so much
Suprised you have time to make these videos along side all these NWG sessions haha
There used to be a Finish striker years back who was insane, can’t remember his name though 🤔
Mika Aaritalo in fm08?
really good thumbnail clayts
That intro is brilliant

He’s getting his own dedicated video

More of this!!
Freddy Adu played against against England for USA at one point and when he played poorly and failed to live up to his touted hype in FM the British tabloids ran with the headline "Much Adu about nothing". Savages.
Saivet was dynamite in FM08!!
Gabriel Torje
Dani Carvalho, Diego, Anderson, Nani, Butland, and basically every young player Wenger had.
Great video

Freddy Adu....such hype only to end like this.. the worst part is Benfica had a below average team at the time and was possible to see a positive impact whenever Adu was on the pitch.
Hearing "San Jose" said like Jose Mourinho made me giggle, sorry (not trying to be rude, very good video, love your filters on the photos)
cherno samba has to be included in a part 2
Pagguy Zunda , Swedish goal machine pretty sure he 1 clubbed it at Djurgarden
Failed WonderKid or Failed Scouts, you know we've all had scouts in the game that give 5 star ratings but they're really 1 star
Robinho? beast in fm 05
I genuinely wonder what was left out about these players
Bojan and Messi are distant cousins and Bojan’s anxiety isn’t mentioned at all which kinda suck :(

Tonton zola molouku, something like that anyway, don't remember him living up to the hype of FM
In 99/00 he was a monster
@@stephenking8505 real life or FM? I remember him scoring 100+ goals a season for me but I don't remember him even scoring a few professional goals for any side

Thr trophies Bojan won , solidifies him as the best failed wonderkid
part 2 pls x
when you and other fm youtubers say without further adieu I always think ahh should have said without Freddy Adu
I’m going to say “without Freddy adu” in a future video and see if you notice
Where's the mighty Cherno Samba?
Dedicated video - coming soon
Well, I wanted to contribute with 2 names that seem to have been forgotten, one from a long time ago, the other, a lot closer.
Cherno Samba and Hachim Mastour.
Those 2 are real failures when comparing the hype on FM and the reality.
To be fair Carlos fierro only didn’t succeed because of Mexican club greed and terrible management of youth players
Part 2 please
yaya sanogo shame his career did not go well
Cherno Samba is still the one for me! Absolute killer in the game and absolute fail irl
The problem Freddy Adu had was that the football media and organisations were just desperate to spread football to the USA so any American player who had the tiniest bit of hype around him was automatically gonna be the best player ever
Is it harsh to put Vincent Aboubaker on a potential list, sure he played at Porto for a bit but was nowhere near his dangerous fm version
Cherno samba, moses ashikodi, maxim tsiglako, the Greek guy papadopoulos
Um, Maximiliano Romero?
Mark kerr was always great for me in.. 01/02 I think it was
This is Maxim Tsigalko erasure. Yes I know it was cm01/02 but he'll alway be my top boy.
Quite the opposite… he’s gonna get his own bespoke video
The greatest of all time for me 🎉
what were messi’s stats at 18 bruh 0:13
what about yaya sanogo ?
Erick Torres was another one for me personally, he was class on FM as a youngster but never lived up to the hype
Lionel Morgan cm01/02 I believe
Career ending injury in real life ended him
Moukoko will also be like this
Santon from Inter
Beast of fm12
Pietro pellegrini??
Fabio Paim
Humam Tariq develop just like like messi in fm 15
I think this shows why AI will never get it completely right.
Tom Davies & dele Ali & jaden Sancho
My fav in 2016 is Yaya Sanogo
daniel opare
Big fan of the AI art
Feel like you passed on the older wonderkids of the CM era... Do anybody was there when Tsigalko was the sh*t?
(Standalone videos planned on Maxim Tsigalko and Cherno Samba)
Another video please nate
Next one is Moukoko
Andri sigporrsson, onesimo
Willie Howie, Tonton Zola Moukoko, Kennedy Bakircioglu. Howie was a sad story
Tonton zola and cherno samba
Pavel Savitskiy and Zakaria Bakkali for pt.2
Pep killed Bojan career at Barca.
