*The Championship* is the right tier for the Burnley organisation, they can moneyball themselves a squad who are great performers at that level of competition, and the right coach-read Vincent Kompany-can have them playing very watchable (and very winning) football. When they win promotion at the end of this season, they shouldn't waste their money on a total rebuild-bank the television money, get relegated, bank the parachute payment, dominate the Championship, get promoted, and repeat. All the stress in yo-yoing is the cycle of splashing out for top flight talent, then selling off and putting together a squad you can afford in the Championship. Just spend enough to dominate the Championship and enjoy the cycle of alternating between Premier League money and parachute payments.
Bring Pep Guardiola next. I want to hear about his 4-3-3 version that transforms into a 2-3-5 or a 3-2-5 when City have the ball. His Inverted fullback methodology and so much more from Pep's tactical masterclass.
As a Southampton fan I wanted Sean Dyche to come to our club because he was experienced, pragmatic, intelligent, logical, calm and passionate. I also wanted to play 4-4-2 which has worked for us recently against Man City and Palace and worked occasionally before that until mangers went back to tinkering. The appointment and his philosophy would have steadied the players individually , the team as a whole, supporters worries and helped the club stay in the Premier League. Sean has a faith in 4-4-2, will alter it if necessary, but knows that it is fundamental to a steady, effective team. Our previous four managers have all tinkered around with multiple formations and, hence, players - and this will never work, especially with players that aren't the best in the Premier. The previous managers had no fundamentally sound philosophy and so, I feel. it was inevitable that they would fail in the short to medium term. I also feel it is so important for players to understand their role and the players to understand each others' role. Dyche believes in utilising players to the best of their individual abilities (which is logical) whereas less successful or effective managers will just dictate that a players follows the manager's format for a particular game. Again here a manager is restricting the player's talent, ability and hence the effectiveness of the team whilst confusing the player and the team. Good luck to Dychey at Everton and to Everton - I think they both made sound choices. I really can't see Everton going down now - Dychey will rebuild the team into a formidable unit.
"Shut down their 'clever play" is such as Sean dyche thing to say. 😂😂😂😂😂 I really love this manager and this is coming from an arsenal fan who recently lost to Everton.
I really like the 4-4-2, especially for youth players. It gives the two outside defenders an opportunity to play offense and defense, and it gives you two sets of options in the striker position. I love the two sets of three offense players on each side of the field and the outside defender to do throw ins and free kicks.

❤ been milking the first one, thanks for this.
"Shut down their 'clever play" is such as Sean dyche thing to say. 😂😂😂😂😂
I really love this manager and this is coming from an arsenal fan who recently lost to Everton.
He knows what he’s talking about! Let’s hope he can do it for us👏👏😎😎🙏
Forest fan here....
I like Sean.... No nonsense guy.... You can tell he spent his youth under our late great manager Cloughie.
Great masterclass, top notch.
Man legit told us that this is how it made sense to him, and I frikken love it because it worked
I did not realy understand the intricacies of the 4 4 2 before watching this! It's now much clearer that I don't understand 4 4 2...!
Top work!
I really like the 4-4-2, especially for youth players. It gives the two outside defenders an opportunity to play offense and defense, and it gives you two sets of options in the striker position. I love the two sets of three offense players on each side of the field and the outside defender to do throw ins and free kicks.
World class manager !
This was a great piece. Well done
Hope he does really well with Everton as he's a top bloke. From a lifelong Leeds fan.
Dyche is such a likeable guy, wish him all the best at Everton
this tactic would be unstoppable in high school if our coach, who played 4-4-2 all the time, understood anything about pressing.
This is fascinating, good work!
Brilliant video
People never understand that managers have to go so in-depth to play a system properly, ifs never as simple as football manager makes it look
Couldn't believe it when Burnley finished 7th and went to Europe. Had no right considering the resources.
Dyche is the best manager who can implement 4-4-2 in modern football 👏👏
This guy is a proper gaffer. I love you sean dyche
Delighted to see him back in the prem!
A great manager and tactician. I hope he comes to Everton🤞
Always knew Sean Dyche was a genius but I never knew he was this good.
Was this part of his pitch to Everton’s board? Brilliant, brilliant
Amazing. What a brilliant mind. The tactics are satisfying
Getting Burnley to a European competition is one of the most underrated achievements in English football history
here before he becomes Everton manager
Fantastic to learn from a legend. Thank you
