My nvidia is an all purpose device, can't go wrong! But an New Nvidia hdmi 2.1 with Google Tv will be Great too !!

to get the most out of that device you will need to make sure to use the best possible HDMI 2.1 8k Cable - i absolutely love this device, especially the AI Upscaling options and being able to use it with PLEX media server
but the shield is a 2.0 hdmi output. why do I need to get 2.1 cable. I ask because my tv is 2.1 compatible but I assume no need for 2.1 because shield is 2.0
@Boanerge Morales as I said just because it's better to get the most and the best possible transfer rates and there is little difference in cost of 2.0 and 2.1...

Will this device make the image quality better than the tv itself? Better yet, does the shield make the picture clearer?
Yes and no… Depending on you WiFi, internet speed, TV and other factors will affect the quality. You can upscale with the device and it does help.
Nice video. So the Nvidia Shield actually incorporates OTA channels from an antenna?
That’s something I haven’t seen from any other streaming device.
I use a HD Homerun network tuner for TV in my home. It gets the signal from my network
Hey Mark, how’s the Nvidia Shield Pro performing one year later? I’ve been using Apple TVs but have been thinking about purchasing one of these guys to see if Android TV is for me.
Still using it on our main TV… I have to reboot and clear the cache every now and then, other than that it works great
I'm trying to figure out how you got those live TV options without having an antenna connected. All I get is an option to use peacock...
Thanks for the comment... I do have one attached, but not to the box. I use a HDHomerun box to transmit the signal via my home wifi and Ethernet, the shield is pulling the antenna signal through my wifi network. I didn't believe it at first, but this thing really did fly after I bought one. So much so, the store I bought it from refused to give me a replacement and/or a refund as they didn't believe me. Now I'm left with nothing but disbelief.

No, Firestick is an Amazon streaming device. It's like comparing Toyota to Dodge
The shield is not a great player, way overpriced.
Netflix, prime, Disney+ all stuttering because it can not play at the right framerate.
A Amazon firestick cost only 25% of a shield but plays everything in the right framerate.
Stay away from Nvidia shield, very bad firmware.

I have to disagree… No problems with the Shield, my Firestick kept dropping the wifi and apps were crashing.

Do I understand correctly that this connects to your tv via HDMI ? I have my TV flush mounted on the wall without any shelves or stands near the TV at all 🫤
