I would suggest redoing or adding frame switching. That is the most important feature to use if you stream anything outside Plex/kodi. It will prevent the shield from converting 24fps content to 60fps and so on. Streamed material will not stutter with that feature.
On my 65" TV I notice a big improvement with picture quality using Nvidia's AI Upscaling.....looks great with 1080P but really improves 720P...1080P looks almost 4K and 720P looks 1080P. This is with video files H264, H265, MKV, AVI etc Thanks for your very informative video Cheers!
If you have an OLED you probably won't notice an improved picture quality. I actually think the picture looks better on the TV built in apps lg C1. The shield does wonders for older tvs
You didn't explain much about the menus, how to use them or what they do. You just read and flashed through them. I can read the menus for myself. You have a bunch of commenters questions and you haven't answered one of them.
wifi on my tv is faster than ethernet (ethernet port on the tv is the limiting factor) but even the wifi isn't as fast as i'd like it to be. So the ethernet option is one of the 'upgrades' i'm looking forward to.

I thought this would be a better android tv box based on how everybody raves a out Nvidia...but alot of 3rd party android&TV apps don't work correctly, no mouse curser, you have to use downloader to sideload Google etc....if your just interested in movie &TV....a good powerful android tv box is easier to program....what a nightmare.All the apps I normally install on Android tv boxes are really glitchy or incompatible....what am I missing here??😅

I like watching tv with a headset on and most times no problems but lately many shows on Hulu or HBO won't let me hear anything even tho the headset is connected. Used 3 different ones and no luck tried going into developer options, but just got more confused. Can you help me. I really don't want to wear my big xbox headset on all the time. Thanks in advance. Wish channels would stop suggesting users use VPN for Canadian streaming.Canadian Netflix blocks use of them(won’t allow sign in when they are enabled). I am going to wait a bit long to see if they announce a new one and check out the specs to see which box I will be buying. Great topic but your presentation is simply too fast to keep up with. I followed your vid on tablet whilst trying to play along on my Shield settings but you lost me time and time again. To the point where I gave up as you got into developer options. A lot of your presentation was just pointing what settings there are rather than providing recommendations for the various settings.
I was going to watch the whole video but the second you said you don't notice the difference with upscaling, I stopped and disliked the video. I have done tests with guests in my home showing them the same video on YT on my tv then on my shield and they always say how much clearer it looks. If you don't see the difference, then maybe you need to have your eyes checked.
I agree He needs to have his eyes checked or upgrade his equipment. The ai upscaling is the main reason I got the shield pro. Works like magic!!! I watch lots of shows on hulu and they are mostly in 1080p .... AI enhances it nicely 👌 I also noticed his menu. He claims he doesn't notice a difference in the AI upscaling. His menu only displays 1080p e.t.c .. doesn't even have 4k options. I can see why he doesn't notice anything!! His gear is outdated .
i dont think anybody actually understands what upscaling , because nobody can grasp that IT DEPENDS ON UR RESOLUTION, as well as ur internet speed. if you use a higher res then you will notice it because its being upscaled. if u have a 1080p obviously you cannot see the difference. do the tests with a clear understanding of whats happening and u will see a big difference however itll only be in certain areas of the image. thats where the ai comes in
I hope so. No other streaming box comes close but it does need some hardware upgrades. The Fire TV Cube 3 specs are disappointing. So Nvidia is the only hope for a new premium streaming box.
@@danilos7195 I am disappointed that Amazon is still releasing devices with outdated/obsolete ports such as USB 2.0 and 10/100 Ethernet. USB 3.0 has been available since '08 and Gigabit Ethernet has been around for over two decades. I expected at least a USB C port with the 3.1 standard and a Gigabit Ethernet port. Also only 2GB of RAM and the bare minimum 16GB of internal storage is not what I would expect from a supposed premium device in 2022. I am going to skip the Fire TV Cube 3 and hold out hope that Nvidia releases an upgraded Shield TV Pro soon.

I’m in Northern Ontario Canada with really slow satellite internet.
It doesn’t buffer at all for me.

Depends on what type of VPN do you have; go to the settings and see splitting and select the application that you want to run with the VPN on.
