Except that logic doesn’t make any logical sense due to how he knows the Asgard existed even before he defected to Earth.
The only issue at the time was that they just didn’t have the numbers to do much except to intervene any planets under their treaty. But if that wasn’t an issue, he knew that technically, Asgard could’ve destroyed majority of the Goa’uld.
Not all but many of the smaller weaker system lords & maybe a couple big ones.

I do love how the movie studio granted full use of the props, sets, even the CGI mapping from the stargate movie for the TV show, which is actually almost unheard of. BUT it is what made SG1 so much better as a tv adaptation then other attempts. It didn't feel like a cheap show of shoe strings and bad sets. Because they didn't half to waste half the budget on building a new set and prop stargate, it went towards other elements.

I love rewatching this scene, and how it kinda clashes with how big the setting got much later on. For a lot of seasons the show was kinda scrappy, keeping things low key and low budget before it became a Star Trek sized sci-fi franchise of doom later on.
It's always funny looking back at the VERY FIRST SCENE and how Apophis, the ruler of an interstellar empire with billions of subjects and many vast interstellar warships at his disposal, is trolling through his list of Stargate addresses and walking through to confront fuck-knows-what with just some slightly blingier Jaffa armour and four redshirts, to kidnap women to be his wife! He's such a low-rent villain here! *LMAO*
Anyone else remember the days when the show first started and it was kinda implied that Earth was super special because as the homeworld of humanity it had a huuuuuuuuuuge number of humans, and that's why every place they went to was a sparsely populated (and budget friendly) craphole? Ahhhhh, those were the days.

nope. 5.56 breaks apart due to a much higher speed against the armor thereby less force transmitted through the metal. if you shoot 5.56 into say at someone under water your 5.56 rounds will break apart wheras your 9mm handgun rounds could possibly reach the guy since their lower velocity enables them to survive contact with the water surface.

    • @Jordan12709
      @Jordan12709 5 років тому

      Your stupidity is astounding honestly.
      1. They had people stationed at the stargate for a reason. Because they would know it needed to be guarded they wouldn't do that with just anything.
      2. General hammond had been debriefed from the previous sg1 travel (the movie) he would know straight away that it was a threat.
      3. Those soldiers are expendable in terms of the military. Civilians are not. They just walked into a room with dead soldiers and in reality they wouldn't have just stood there and done nothing if aliens came to our planet immediately the military would be on the defence. Let alone if they showed hositily. You think the military would be sitting ducks?
      4. This argument is pointless. Clearly you have no idea what this series is about and quite obviously you haven't seen the movie.

I honestly don't like the whole beam teleport thing that was introduced early on in the series. It kinda made the iconic, multi ring transporter fuckin redundant and basically became an easy get out of jail free card for the characters whenever they were in trouble. I just prefer the idea that although teleportation technology exists you'll always need to have some set or series of *"tele-pads"* or 'pillars' (like those kinda cool asgard totem lookin things from that episode about Thor's hammer) connected to each other in a network of sorts. This also made vehicles like space craft or even ground transport more relevant and provided clear, defined choke points to be used by both protagonists and antagonists, which at times added much appreciated strategic depth and tactical craftiness to the dance of danger and the experience of exploration.
That's what the beam, *star trek knockoff teleportation in later seasons lacked,* it wasn't iconic, it was derivative, and didn't have that *monument like mystic* that the rings transporter or the even asgard totem teleporter had.

Police fired 102 rounds at a truck (counting bulletholes only) at a unarmed grandma and her daughter delivering newspapers, failing to kill either of them. They failing to match the vehicle description and failed to warn the civilian occupants or even try and stop the vehicle, they just opened fire wildly in panic. 25 minutes after that incident further away, a separate police officer failed to match the vehicle description and fired upon another truck with a civilian in it without warning. And there were yet more blunders that day. When people with guns panic, they just start firing wildly.

The Stargate exists not only in Germany but also in Russia or other countries, depending on which Goa'uld rule or pass through the gate.
It is even possible that there is no Scaara or Sha're at all, depending on the location the Goa'uld can be even more evil and powerful.
What I didn't know is that there are not only red Goa'uld in space, but also Goa'uld who have blue eyes.
The gate serves as an international connection for various travelers.
I can only say that the golden Apophis is a variant, depending on that Goa'uld can also appear with completely different characters or Goa'uld with completely different Jaffas, recently even the Cenobites can use the Stargate, there is even a gate in RES "Resident Evil" no joke.

And just as important, he also gave the Ta ri some Goa-uld STD's to study and develop a better vaccine for those less, er, combative off-world liasons.

Didn't the symbol on Teal'c's head flip back and forth for a bit?

It's probably a visual indication of his allegiance to Apophis.
We'll all be getting one soon to show our devotion to diversity.

I understand they did this for budgetary reasons, but it always bothered me that the show never attempted to represent the whirlpool effect behind the gate as shown in the film.

That’s why Marines were deployed after the first contact. Had the Marines were in the gate room guarding it, they would dropped more Jaffas and probably none kidnapped.

How did they open the gate to go back? I have seen other times where the Stargate was opened without the DHD or dialling computer.

    1) The open wormhole allowed 2 way travel unless something was edited out.
    2) BUT, most importantly, who had the best hand in the poker game?

SO, no one took a head shot on Apophis or Tel'c at that distance? It should be easy, even by Air Force standards.
