I agree, once you become familiar, you become comfortable and comfort can lead to disrespect; I struggle with this. Even when the Holy Spirit whispers calmly in my ear, to change the way I speak to my significant other, I still sometimes go ahead and speak unkindly. This is something I genuinely want to change.
U are lucky u got a simp beta man as a husband. I guess he is too broke to dump you. My woman tried talking careless to me once n I exited for 9 months. After months of begging she dare not ever talk to me like you western freaks do to your weak men. I will never accept less when it comes to my respect as a man. If all men do this, marriages will be fixed. As a man I don't need anything from you but respect. I don't accept money, gifts or anything from a woman. Only respect is accepted.
In my opinion, WE ALL should be kind to one another, relative or stranger.

I agree a man as your husband does want kindness and respect. However, a husband should cherish his wife and treat her as a queen and not just a servant. He should not abuse her verbally, physical or mentally in anyway. If he continues this bad behavior, it's better to be divorced than let your children see you tolerate abuse and neglect!
Sweetheart,I gave ALL of that to my husband and he still abused me. It’s easy for you to say what you are saying because you have a good husband perhaps. People are trapped in unique situations and no general knowledge works for everybody sweetie. Sometimes you are taken for granted, and an abuser will always be an abuser no matter what you do except the Lord touches and changes him. Congratulations to you if your husband is reciprocating. Some of us were not that lucky.

I think this is a simple truth. No need to say it really. But lack of kindness and respect in a family is a symptom of a big problem with one or both spouses. And mere saying “you should/shouldn’t do this/that” won’t help - we all know the rules. I think every family has it’s own, unique story and and only individual approach may work.

People only discuss Paul's teachings.
Christ's teachings applied in marriage would make it unnecessary to even discusd what Paul said.
Genesis 2:24 says when a man and woman marry they become one flesh, disrespecting ones partner would be like disrespecting part's of the body it makes know sense. 😊

This is not a problem for women who are with men that they actually LOVE, and not just because they wanted to be married before a certain age, out of fear, religion, social status etc. 🙄🙄
Respect does need to be earned. I mean, you could respect a dishonest, unfaithful person on a base level - this person is a human being, this person is my husband. But it is a different kind of respect from the one which involves some kind of awe and admiration. Kindness can always be given though.

Thank you for your opinion and that my why basically is doing this to me right now. Basically she tries to downgrade me everyday that basically tries to start a fight or to leave the house purposity far that some of these other men that are out there probably would have committed domestic violence I have not. That's why I leave the house so basically I don't hear about that with my ex-wife and I stay away from her when she did that.

The husband has to give love, kindness, and respect to his wife too. It works both ways. If the husband is abusive, dusty, and degenerative, then he doesn't deserve to be respected and love. This is a bit one-sided.
