8/16 Lands drawn in first 5 rounds in game one is yikes. Maybe we both just got unlucky but Lands have been feeling REALLY clumped in the new patch of mtg arena. I missed 4 land draws then got 5 lands in a row which was NOT what i wanted to see from my 'Make Your Own Luck' (5 mana Draw 3, plot one nonland drawn). Its likely just bad luck but its comforting seeing someone else go through it too tbh
edit: i paused the video to comment this and when i pressed play he drew ANOTHER land
edit2: How did His land luck get even worse.

That game against final legacy was pretty sweet. They played out a bunch of bombs and you still managed to come back with a well-played alpha strike. gruul em out
damn that first mana flood was brutal
On my first sealed I got Jace my boy promo card and made a 3 color deck cause of Kellan which means green, white and blue. On my second sealed I got Oko, Oko, Oko and so made a green, blue and black deck. Yup I looted damn well cowboys 🤠 💙 😒 😤 🙄 😑 🤠

I was one win short of winning my first outlaws draft. That's black/red jasper card kinda takes over if it sticks around for a few turns
Played a sealed at prerelease and 1 draft of this set so far and this seems like a very fun set! Doesnt seem that fast from what I've experienced so far, but it does feel like it could be very swingy.
At prerelease, I had 2 wins with Great Train Heist. On both occasions, I was dead next turn. GTH was able to do JUST enough through blockers to get lethal.
Question about the Spree mechanic. Are the costs for the modal abilities included in the casting cost or does the initial cast go on the stack before paying for the abilities?
I wish I had the patirnce to calculate the % of your draws that were e lands and the chances of that happening

In your last game, I probably would have taken out the Prairie dog simply because lifelink really throws out the race, plus it was growing twice as fast.
For cards like Aloe Alchemist I'm really surprised the "Plot" option doesn't also list its triggered ability. Guess they overlooked the 2 cards that do anything when plotted.

Re: commander cards like Obeka in the main set, this is one of the Set Booster casualties. For a while, each set would have like 8-10 commander cards that didn’t fit in the precons but would show up in set boosters. There’s no place for those in play boosters, so the multiplayer-themed cards and ones that wouldn’t otherwise fit in Standard get skipped, and some others, especially legendary creatures, get shoved into the main set to be absolute limited duds.
MOM and MKM had legendary creatures that only appeared in prerelease kits, with the MKM ones (but not MOM iirc?) standard legal but not playable in the prerelease. That was confusing for prerelease players but it doesn’t seem like the *worst* way to do that, Obeka could totally have been one of those.
(She’s not in a commander precon because OTJ doesn’t have a commander precon in her colors, I wonder if one was planned at some point and then replaced)

How could a healthy format have 7 removal spells in a pack on pick 2?
the format has like 40 removal spells and 10 reanimation spells lol, its really insane
That’s the big score and bonus sheet adding to the play booster problem, to many cards from too many sets, it almost looks like a mystery booster set on steroids
Maybe this format isn't so aggressive. You had a super aggressive deck and it didn't really pan out
my impression too. I find it pretty nice, you don't get crushed if you miss a 2-drop.

I've found to be fairly grindy in the main, that 7 mana white mount appears a lot

so far I'm not really enjoying this set, I had a game already where someone reanimated the big green ward guy THREE times in a row
Sentry can attack if you have a creature that is 4 or greater power. It doesn't have to be 4 power itself.
I know this, I only meant it counts itself, making it better than other versions of the effect
@@NizzahonMagic Tbf the way you were talking about it when you briefly considered cutting it made it sound like you thought its ability to attack was solely dependent on its own power.
I understand your thought process but I can see why people could misunderstand what you were conveying.
you don't get 2 rares per pack anymore?
Did you ever? I know some extra sheets made it so you could get up to 3 rares per pack but I don't remember if a set had guaranteed 2 rares per pack
It's 1-3 rares+ per play booster. 1 rare/mythic slot guaranteed, then potentially more from other slots like bonus sheets and alternate card treatments. You'll still only have 1 a majority of the time.
I hate this set in limited. Too many broken synergies & Arena is rigged. Too much land flooding or land lacking instances. Opponent pulls original Oko, concede. Timeless, Historic and Explorer it will be for me.
