Destiny Destiny 2 Soundtrack OST Music Theme Song Cutscene Cinematic The Witness Darkness Pyramid The Gardener Winnower Origin Meaning Season of the Deep
This is one of the most bonkers sequences of music in a cutscene, honestly just as crazy as Clovis's Plan in how it pulled from EVERYTHING.
From D1 stuff (I heard a pitch-shifted bit of the Deconstruction guitar, I know it) to more modern stuff like Future Unknown and the general Darkness motif (but now on glissando trombones, FINALLY!)
Just bonkers. What a day.
Woahhhhh even some melodies from Tranquility, I didn't even catch that the first time!
So for music in order we have Tranquility (specifically the travelers motif, originally from The Path) with some chimes from Diffracted truth, We have some glass bowl(?)/chime notes taken from Distant Sky, which then transitions INTO a higher pitch Distant Sky. The just underneath it at the end we hear a new motif played on guitar, right before it transitions into The Witness. Then it transitions into Tenebrium, the Veil's motif, then transitions back INTO The Witness, into the heavy brass Witness motif from Future Unknown, and then finally back to Tenebrium.
So yeah. shit ton of motifs from all over, constantly blending between traveler, witness, and veil motifs. so awesome to hear them so insanely well put together.
I didn't here any deconstruction, but I might have to rewatch for that!
3:09 is the same version of the Witness' theme used in Future Unknown.
I'm starting to think that it's their definitive theme that we'll hear going into Final Shape. I can't wait to hear what an action version of it will sound like.
It it also used in the Lightfall beginning cutscene !
“You have served your purpose”
@@yandere-shaxx75 Future Unknown IS the beginning cutscene. It's the track that goes along with it.
I love this motif because of this variant of it.
@@richard38618”All That Awaits You Now is The Gift Of Death”
0:20 Tranquillity my beloved
Same part played when the witness was making the portal on the traveler, I love that they’ve been using it now it’s so good.
0:59 the sudden darkness synths… chills
that is my favorite part of this one :)
This cutscene is musical heaven, motifs from d1, MoTS, and d2 combined, I recognized every motif.
So I guess this establishes _why_ the traveler would leave the civilizations it uplifts behind:
⚪️Firstly, there’s the Black Fleet constantly in pursuit of them…
⚪️…Which, secondly, only existed because The Traveler lingered around them for too long, which…
⚪️…Thirdly, caused the Witness race to evolve into something too narcissistic for the good of themselves and the entire greater universe, and too powerful to be stopped….
⚪️So now The Traveler takes care to uplift other races more carefully, handing its blessings differently from civilization to civilization based on how well it thinks it can handle them, and almost _never_ to the same extent it did for its first patrons. Ideally, it’d uplift them to the point where they’d never be in danger of going extinct by any manner of natural disaster, their own hands or those of other local lifeforms, before heading off to other worlds in need. Sometimes, said civilizations grow beings like The Witness, Ghaul or Clovis, that seek to use or destroy the traveler for their own ends. And so the actions of a selfish few can damn their entire civilization in forcing the traveler to flee early. And of course The Traveler would, up until now, _always_ flee The Black Fleet, simply because it long ago lost any means to fight them directly AND the cost of their victory would prove too great for the sake of the universe as a whole…
Honestly you can put this epiphany into our position as Guardians. We have slain inconceivable amounts of our enemies from every race, some of them have been (or were going to be) blessed by the traveler before The Witness and the Black Fleet destroyed them all.
It really makes us think that, for all our heroic deeds that we done for our survival, for them, we did nothing more but commit atrocities for their race, trying to claim what they rightfully believe to be theirs.
It really gives some second thoughts about if the traveler is really a beacon of hope, more of a sign of seeing the hubris of all of us, what actions we did, and how it is an endless cycle of life and death that the Witness needs it to end.
An Eternal Oasis, An Eternal Peace.....
@@stevem.9340 I was gonna say something like that. Back when I played Destiny... well when fighting against the Fallen after learning their backstory in Destiny 2 I was shocked and speechless. Like they've been fighting for survival and all I did was killed them.
literally feasting on every leitmotif in here

Light and Darkness are the same forces. Traveler and Veil once was one being. They Splitt... Thats why he was buried in tbe the dirt... Like a seed... When we grow up what we need first? A safty home. A place where life can flourish. This is light. A power over the physical. Over the body. A helpfull source. But imagine you would live in this paradise... For eons... This is unbalance... Because the Moment will come when something inside of you want to grow also... The physical/ the light is limited... Your mind also want to grow... And than they found the Veil... The big cosmic Mind👁. Darkness is a power over the mind. Darkness is the Mind. But if you only use one side you will be always unbalanced. You need both. A Seed doesnt fear light nor darkness. He use both to grow...☯️
The Witness people... Didnt...
It’s beautiful music I can’t unhear the song at all
The music in this cutscene is perfect to bad it won’t be in the game when Final Shape Drops
might get recycled
@@richard38618just like most the content in the game 💀
Actually Bungie said that this cutscene will stay in the game even after the year ends, how will they implement it in Lightfall we'll have to wait and see but it's good it's not going away.
@@stevem.9340 Lightfall is over bucko
@@richard38618Lightfall is the whole year. The era and products are both labeled as such.
Good create Evil...Evil can create good... (but without knowing)
Thank you for the upload!
Thank you so much for this
Could you do the root of nightmares cutscene without dialoge?
I want the one from the Edz that has the the fast pace violins it plays when you go on the adventure where you have to get the city's supplies not the sojourn camp but the one where you fight that giant servitor it plays on patrols as well and in zevalas story
What We Fight For?
@@destiny_music_archive Yeah but I want the in game version it's very different
Look up What We Fight For on UA-cam. There will be Action and High Action videos for it from this channel.
@@destiny_music_archive thanks
Ok but like what if this played in the game
So like it was way more mysterious honestly it would caught my attention a lot more and be a lot more interesting
BaroTrauma mission cutscene soon?
It was so much more interesting when all of this was postulation and echoes of the past where it could be anything. This is so simple for the sake of millions if not billions of years of history.
It always is like that. Be it FF14 early years, marathon 1 and 2, the first halo games, gravity falls, the mystery is the best part, never the answer.
@@edgecalibur777 Halo 1 - 3 were great the whole way through. It wasn't until 343 changed the lore that it became bad
This is a shitty retcon to good lore, it isn't even compatible with some of the lore from season of arrivals
Yeah, unveiling got killed by this
Have you ever heard of the "unreliable narrator"? Unveiling and season of arrivals lore came from the Witness and as we learned in Witch Queen, the Witness is willing to lie to get what they want
@@Falconer5752unveiling was a manifesto written by the witness delivered to us during a time in the game’s life where EVERYONE was questioning the traveler’s motives.
unveiling was never gospel. it’s on you for thinking otherwise.
@@Falconer5752if you seriously didn’t hear this whole time that Unveiling shouldn’t be trusted even though it’s our only answer.. I don’t know what to tell you.
The witness did indeed lie to Savathûn about the god wave on Fundamant, tricking her into choosing the Deep. I wouldn’t put it past it to lie to us.
How in the hell did y'all even GET this??
