  • Here’s a video how to remove the powerhead on a 7.5 hp and 10 hp Honda 4 stroke outboard. The 7.5 and 10 share the same design so the removal would be the same for both. Sorry for the lengthy video but it will take you through every step you need to complete the removal. Don’t forget to like and subscribe and thanks for watching!

    That's terrific, thankyou. I've just bought this outboard for spare parts as I have the Volvo penta mb2/50s as an inboard in my boat. I noticed some steam coming from my exhaust so I reckon I've got a rusted muffler to deal with too

    • @MotoRoUsa
      @MotoRoUsa  3 роки тому

      Exhausts often get rusted due to environment it’s in... and if you have the same symptoms as mine you have a high change of having an exhaust leak.

      How long do you think it took you from start to finish just to remove the power head?

    • @MotoRoUsa
      @MotoRoUsa  3 роки тому

      @@montanahelp2169 altogether maybe less than a hour. Has to stop/pause/change angles to record etc. once you start isn’t much to do but take some bolts off. Takes more time to find the tools abs sockets you need than actually process of taking it off. And I wanted to do a real time video but was taking way too long to upload and didn’t have a cameraman with me either.

      @@MotoRoUsa Bases on your video I pulled the head on my 10 hp. I have some gaskets ordered and hope to get it back together this week. Any tips on assembly? Everything came apart pretty easily with the exception of the shift rod. It didn’t want to pull down. Thanks

    Did this fix your issue? I have the honda 5hp outboard and I have to change a leaking oil pan gasket. I have the service manual and it seems very similar. However there are no videos on the 5hp. So maybe I will make one. Thanks

    • @MotoRoUsa
      @MotoRoUsa  2 роки тому

      What issue are you talking about? Shutting down with the cover on because of the exhaust leak? Or fixing the oil leak by replacing the gasket when you remove the power head? If so, it’ll fix both issues.

      @@MotoRoUsa i was wondering if welding exhaust manifold fixed your issue of starving for oxygen? Did you weld it or buy a new exhaust manifold? It’s usually corrosion/ so a new exhaust would make more sense I think

    How do I stop this motor??

    • @MotoRoUsa
      @MotoRoUsa  3 роки тому +1

      It should have a kill switch somewhere up front. Usually a safety lanyard would be attached to it and when pulled the motor would stop. On this one it has that toggle silver switch for on/off
