Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 лип 2023
- The Pemi or Pemigewasset loop is one of the most beautiful trail link-ups in all of New England and a classic in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This loop travels over 9+ summits and 28+ miles of trail. Although most break this up into a backpacking trip, its possible to do it in one (very long) day. This was filmed in July 2023.

Starting with Flume means you’re going clockwise. Nice job btw. Took us 16.5 hrs this July.
Another great video. You have a knack for being informative, unpretentious, and funny. Well done!
Congrats, man!
Transitioning from state park camping to backpacking. Love your videos +1 sub. Excellent motivation for me to get into shape haha!
Super helpful, bro. Hopefully doing this tomorrow
Super good information all round. Inspiring for me to get over there from Vermont and do this. Thanks.
Ran it yesterday. CW is flume first. Surely anyone researching would have seen this anyway.
Heat and humidity are my kryptonite too. I'd rather run in 40 deg than 80 deg. Well done!
1,000,000% - hell, give me 20 over 80 any day of the week
Beautiful day, great job man! I can't wait to take on the Pemi and Presi Ultra, and all the Whites for that matter. Still working on the Adirondacks for now.
Wow one day! I did the loop in three days last summer. I was to tired to hit Galehead and West Bond. Water can be tough on the ridges. We hiked down to liberty Springs and back up for our first water. We’ll done, I really enjoyed the video.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the vid. I will admit that I had to talk myself into adding West Bond on, but was glad I did since its really the best way to tag that summit.
So stoked watching this video! I live in CO, but backpacked this in two days about 6 years ago with a friend. It was awesome. That heat/humidity looks brutal.
No joke, my trail runners are STILL drying out after this one 😅
I you don't mind, where did you sleep?
Peep the full guide on my website, I list out everything about sleeping there
Wow, nice work trudging along. Heat and humidity are not you friend in the Whites. Props for getting it done as fast as you did.
I find the trees are a mixed blessing on hot humid days. Break from the sun but they seem a lot more humid. Like a warm watery blanket suffocating me, lol. Good job, bud! That was a serious day and a great video.
I could FEEL the humidity under the tree canopy. It was extremely humid all day but agree with you there. Even with no wind above them, it was like taking a blanket off each time.
Great video! Just had to note that it bothered me how you kept saying you were doing it counter-clockwise when you were going clockwise the whole time and I had to point it out 😵💫.
💯 I clearly struggle with directions of the clock 😂
😂😂😂
When I was running those trails there was no UA-cam. I retired this year and training to get back out there. 👍
Best of luck 💪🏽
Great job overcoming the conditions. This is a very tough challenge. Pretty sure you went clockwise. North Twin is great, for next time you're in the area! There's a view about 25 yards off the summit that is outstanding. Galehead on the other hand...
Great point - not sure how I messed that up, thanks for the heads-up.
Tried this loop two years ago and turned back after starting to get pretty sick on the way up Osseo. Good decision as it turned out, but big disappointment. Hope to revisit soon. Love the Whites.
Anyway, great content and your website is killer! Next time you're in the East, consider hitting the Colden Trap Dike in the Adirondacks for some exposure you don't often find on this side of the divide. The 'Dacks have a little different topology than the Whites.
It’s funny, that hike has been on my list for about 5 years - it’s just so hard to get to from where I stay out here but one day hopefully.
The 1-day Pemi Loop is reserved for "animals" like yourself. Mere mortals like me max out at the 1-day Presi Traverse...and I have to start in the dark.
I had never heard of onX...will check it out and use your code if I decide to proceed. Any words of comparison to CalTopo -- my current go-to for the next level beyond AllTrails?
OnX is caltopo but with a lot more data, think you’d like it. And we all have a “animals” inside us, just gotta let it loose!
Very ironic that I live in NH and hike the mountains of the Pemi all the time, but at the release of this video I’m currently on a trip in Colorado!
Hiking some 14ers I hope.
@@lightwalker4558 definitely! Heading up to Crestone Needle on Thursday for my fifteenth fourteener.
Lots more from NH coming out soon. Tackled three separate trips during my time here.
12:49 every high point in Missouri be like 😂
The more I see your videos in the White Mountains, the more I want to head up to NH to explore them! Great job for pushing through that heat and humidity!
I would say they are a hidden gem but if you hit the trails on the weekend you’d be like?????? But think nationally they are very underrated.
I have a question. I am a stage 4 cancer survivor and avid mountain climber in Colorado. I love to make 4k gopro videos of my climbs and my epic comback using imovie. My vidoes are clear when I make them through handbrake and then Imovie, but when I download them to my youtube channel Brad's World, they become blurry and distorted. Yours are still so clear. Wondering if you might know what I can do to clear them up? or what you do. Any advice would be awesome.
I’m not familiar with Mac’s but my gut tells me your not rendering it correctly. I’d probably start there - I’ve had that issue in the past and didn’t notice it for like a year but after having correct render settings I’ve never had issues with quality.
