Love the sound of the starter motor cranking over the 253, brings back memories.
hopefully whoever buys it keeps it like this . beautiful car.
Got to love the old 253😍😍
Claytons V8
@@notificationsatyt6427 253 are all noise & no go. Never late in a 308.
I had an identical one in white. Sold it in the mid 80s. Was a great car to drive and a real head turner. Wish I stil owned it.
Those holden 253 when fitted with a cam sound awesome.I prefer the LS dark burgundy
My 1973 LJ GTR Torana was that colour, I grew to like it, real 70's colour.
keep the mags I reckon...cool then and cool now
Awesome, this takes me back
Love that colour
The 253 had a beautiful sounding firing order. With the right exhaust setup the sound was hard to beat.
You must love the HQ. Two door, four door doesn't matter.. lovely vehicle.
What a great old survivor, orchard pink ,mags ,nice interior ,2flies and a flee, what's not to love !!
Amazing
Michelin Energy tyres arent reflective of a vehicle thats sat for 20 years ,someone has loved this car enough to get the tyres done even if it lived out in a shed ,100K car maybe 135K in late 2021
Best rear end of any Ozzy car
😎💪💪💪💪💪👍
Jus a great old car
Use to have An x cop car was a HQ with a 253 in it. Awesome cars. HQ holden Kingswood. New Zealand
Would have been an ex MOT car you had. Police had 6cyl and Mot the v8.
@@brucebarlow6604 New Zealand cop car from 70s 80s it was definitely a 253 V8 and definitely a HQ holden
Never got to ride in 1 of those, I was too clever lol
Knock knock Rodney
ANY IDEA WHAT IT SOLD FOR WHAT A WONDERFUL MONARO 👍👍👍
heard it sold for about 90K
Trimatic and V8 badge around the wrong way on the boot, otherwise a terrific Monaro.
Another Rian 'gaffe' ... the seats are original factory finish, with the optional Royal Cord cloth inserts (Monaro LS and Premier models) ... Houndstooth was strictly a GTS option.
Nice, but pink !
Wow, i bet it auctions for a mint
How much did this Monaro sell for? It's such a beautiful car and a rare find.
$93,259
@@FranklyAussie Thank you. I thought a car that rare would sell for more. Not that I know their values.
Not the original brake master cylinder. It would have originally had a cast iron "Big nut" master cylinder with a date & manufacture shift AM or PM code stamped into the nut.
Every time I see one of these I'm kicking myself I sold mine in 2004 for $7,000 granted I was strapped for cash and desperate . if anyone knows of a candy apple red with the fattest centerline tyres sunroof around the Bathurst Blayney area of love to see how it's going
As an LS, didn't this come with a vinyl roof?
Yes, come 1973 and the vinyl roof was available in 5 colours for the LS ... but it also was a delete option too.
Original bumper bar my ass
No twin exhaust? Is that how these came out was it?
Would've been an optional extra back in the day.
What did it sell for?
80?
$93k
Can I ask what it sold for?
$93,259
Cyclamen... Hated that colour as a dealership painter. Try to match it!
Looks like Orchard Metalic same as my LS Monaro.
What did it sell for anyone? Thanks in advance 👍
$93259 on 30/9/20

Yep, expected it would get close to 100!
Be an old leaker once those seals crack away
Hope they checked the front subframe for cracks, lost track of how many of those bastards I had to repair.
