RAM Mounts Quick Grip Review for Motorcycles

- After some bad issues with my RAM Mounts X-Grip phone mount that lead to a dismal review, I am now a fanboy of the RAM Mounts Quick-Grip for motorcycles which was a great choice for my motorcycle. I use an OtterBox and belt clip so there is no other system that is compatible. This works great on my Ducati Multistrada V4S motorcycle.

What is your favorite phone motorcycle mount?
Quad lock with vibration dampener.
Quadlock is so so much better
@@amococ2487 Quad lock is good, but I dislike the phone case
Thanks for your reviews. I'm guessing the spring loaded grip bar (or whatever they call it) is intended to go at the top because the other way, if the spring movement fails, gravity would work against keeping your phone secured.
The trouble is, that its still a solid mount. Having been through three iPhones (vibrations destroy the floating camera lens springs), of various model, on various motorcycles, I moved to an anti-vibration quad-lock mount last year for my iPhone 13 Pro Max, and haven't looked back since. Reassuringly expensive.
They now make a vibration dampening mount for this model too. I love this mount and with over 100,000 kms in Southeast Asia riding done this mount has never failed and never fkd my phone internals up either.
G'day Chief, just confirming that you have done 100,000 kms with the RAM Quick Grip & Vibe Safe and had no issues with your phone ? Or Ram Mount or Vibe Safe ?
Helpful information, especially the upside-down mounting, probably would not have thought of that.
8 minute review and you don't even put a phone in it...
I know. That is the beauty of it, and I have an iPhone 13+ Pro Max with an Otterbox to make it huge and it still fits! You, my friend, are welcome.
Simon
Thanks man, that's what I needed to know about these mounts!
Might bite you in the ass using it upside down over a bump where the weight of the phone pushes the spring down and flyes off the phone holder. Just a thought.
Had the X-Grip for one season only, switched to a Quad Lock package for my phone including poncho and vibration damper and am very happy with the holder. It is more than 35 bucks but it is the best on the market I think.
What about the vibration of the bike and the road? How does your iPhone hold up? I read a lot of stuff online about the vibrations messing up the insides of the camera stabilisation hardware, even with the Vibe Safe that RAM has. I love to hear your experience so far with this, since it is also 2 years ago.
Yes, vibration but not that bad. I have since replaced it with another brand.
Ram has a vibration dampener for this mount👍
A lot of talking, but not much info. I have an Doogee V-MAX, and its a big one. 7x3.4x1.2. and thats inch,if you look in matrix, 17.8x8.5x2.8cm.. are they also for this size possible?
VERY informative video, thank you.
Been contemplating phone mounts for my Bobber and This one is now the best choice 👍
Good choice!
what phone do you have? I use an old 6 plus ... no problems with the camera, ... how is it with new iphones with the vibrations, ... have 4 holders, also the well-known hip ones, but I like the ram best
Great review. Makes the choice super easy! Thanks.
Can you flip it horizontally and still ride without being scared your phone pops out?
Yes, no problem
@@RemboUSMC Just ordered one ✌
I use the same one you have, no issue at all;
Rembo, is the Ducati Multistrada V4 S easy to use in the urban jungle?
Yes, very. It just wants to be out on the open road though.....
Hi Rembo! Thank you for your videos, they have been of great help in my decision to purchase my Ducati Multistrada V4S. I recommend you try the Quadlock brackets, I am currently using the motorcycle mount, combined with a 360º extension (same concept as the Ram mount) together with the vibration dampener and the wireless charger, and so far it has seemed like a perfect combination, especially for avoid damage to cell phone camera sensors. Cheers!
Thank you for posting. I appreciate the info. I love my Otterbox with belt clip when off the bike so the Quadlock was not an option for me until they come out with a belt clip.
Got quad lock with vibration dampener on my Ms V4s - it’s perfect
Because I love my OtterBox with my belt clip, Quad Lock is not an option for me. I wish they had a belt clip version. The vibration dampening is a great idea.
How is the vibration dampening? I have a larger phone, and I’ve heard the quad lock can be wobbly
If you don't put a device ... difficult to imagine
I wish I had two phones just so you could imagine one being in there. Especially all of the videos on this site where I am riding and the phone is in that holder. If there was only a way. I switched to Quad Lock anyway.
no problems with vibrations and the Cam in an IPhone?
I did after 28,000 miles with my previous iPhone so I limit how much vibration time I allow it anymore.
Great info, Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Where do you get the very short arm?
I believe I ordered it from Revzilla.
How’s the vibration on the mount?
Marginal. One iPhone already had focus issues
good vid bro!
Thanks for the visit
Straight to the point reviews. 👍
Thank you.
I was checking on you're channel and I know I was subscribed but I noticed that I was not and hat to hit it again
Thank you! Warmer weather starting today BTW.
Too funny I have the same ram mounts & mounted them the same way cause easier to put phone on mounted that way.
An intro! Them 'light weight' mounts are OK for a push bike and that it...
Great…until gravity releases your phone when you hit a bump…which mine did at 70 miles an hour
Ouch, that is not good. I keep mine in my motorcycle jacket pocket anymore.
you failed to show your new mount HOLDING a phone.
Yeah, I use my phone to do the video. I may just completely redo it so that people could visualize a phone in a holder. Good catch.
Looks a bit small to me can't you get it in a bigger size 😋
There is a std and XL
Over 8 min video, but I couln't see how smartphone looks attached to this :(
Sorry I did not include footage of a phone in a holder. I have the iPhone 14+ Pro Max in an Otterbox belt clip holder and it fits. Basically it is way, way better than the X-Grip.
Quadlock. Damper system & that is all.
I hear a lot of good things about the Quadlock. I just prefer my OtterBox with belt clip when off the bike so Quadlock is not an option.
Yah I hate quadlock cases; rokform slightly better
After alk that you didn't mount your phone 😏
Looks like american product - ugly as hell. I thin this metal clam scratches stearing bar.
Be Pithy. Way to long. (Retired S.F. Instructor). Actually adjust everything as if out of the box. You lost me on this one.
What type of San Francisco instructor were you?
RAM mounts are useless. Original was useless. New one looks like an eye sore. Quadlock all day.
