  • This is the most excited I've been over skincare tips and tricks in a VERY long time! I can't wait to share with you this game changing skincare secret that Japanese skincare and Korean skincare routines have been using for years and years! Maybe life changing skincare tip is a bit of an overstatement, but I've been doing this for the past four years in my morning and evening skincare routines for my mature skin and didn't even realize how truly effective it's been for me in the anti-aging skin care game!

Hi Melissa! I am 76 years old and abused my skin for most of my life. About a year ago I woke up and began taking care of it. I found your channel and have followed many of your suggestions and your makeup tips. I look like a different person these days after a year of retinol, good advice, and persistence. Today I ordered your two favorite essences. I can't thank you enough for your help through this journey. It just goes to show, you're never too old to start!! 💕💕

This makes so much sense, especially when I think of the instructions that came with my tretinoin, which says to apply on dry skin so that it doesn't penetrate too deeply when you first start using it. Of course, the opposite is what you want to do when you WANT a product to penetrate more deeply! I never connected those dots before watching this. Thanks for this.

I love the Tacha Essence! I put it in a spray bottle to make it easier to apply without wasting the product.
The other thing I do is use a tiny beauty blender, saturate it with the essence and then gently pat on.This really makes it feel as though it is saturating the skin, especially the eye area!
Then apply the eye cream and moisturizer when the skin has absorbed the essence.
This makes my skin feel really moisturized and plumper!

Hi Melissa. I'm 54 and seem to notice more and more little wrinkles popping up every week! & I've been trying so many serums, face creams, eye creams and with one of my sephora orders received a sample of an essence and thought it was like a "toner" which I use anyway. I've been using Clinique cleansing products and their moisturizers for yrs along with this, that & the other. I have the Kiehls essence. I think your skin is just beautiful and you don't show many lines of course you're probably alot younger than I am. I love how informative your videos are & I will be trying one of these products. Tatcha is very pricey but do you suggest a specific moisturizer that I should use after applying an essence? I hate getting old, Melissa & want to hang on to a youthful appearance so badly. amzn.to/3PCIJO1
And at night the Sukoyaka Suhada cream.
      amzn.to/3qTkKQ3
The last cream is super duper hydrating. So much so that it's almost sticky. But I wear it every night & it's the only cream that I wake up with my skin still feeling hydrated. I live in a dessert climate so that's saying something. But I always like to tell people about it's texture because I don't want them thinking I'm crazy for recommending it. I know it's not for everyone but I love it.

Hey there sweet girl! I LOVE the Japanese skincare I can get. Try stylevana.com or yesstyle.com they are both websites I trust besides Amazon to get Japanese skincare.

I have heard of an Eastern practice
called Seven Skins…. Layering essences up to seven layers to add moisture to dry skin. Your information now helps me better understand how this practice would deeply moisturize your skin.

I personally wouldn't use the secret key one as it has dimethicone in it. Dimethicone acts as a sealer and any ingredient going over it can't penetrate properly. The Missha time first essence is much better. Also for someone with dry skin I avoid all face products that contain dimethicone as it tends to make my face look mattified unfortunately. If I choose to use an occlusive on top I reach for my vaseline. I don't mind dimethicone products on my body since I don't care as much about a dewy, glowy body as I do a dewy and glowy face. I'm 42 and genuine Korean skincare has been an absolute game changer for me!

I have started using the Cerave Hydrating Toner, with ceramides, niacinamde and hyaluronic acid. It can pick it up at Target, and it is very reasonably priced (under $9). It works just like an essence!

@@mwcmwc8768 I’m actually ability to order another bottle as I only have a quarter of the bottle left. Sometimes I just use it like an essence, not using a cotton round. My skin feels plumper and more hydrated! The other product that adds a ton of hydration is The Ordinary’s Amino Acid serum. I apply it after I the toner, before other serums.

The Suhada essence is really catching on lately. My sister inlaw brought me a huge bottle of SK-11, when she visited us in Australia, a few years back. She was a big believer in it. She loved hef sake, and yet, she had the skin of a teenager, in her 40's.
