I like the way you teach : no time wasting, the full song is played in the beginning. I always loved that tune and I'm glad I could learn it thanks to you. Thanks for all the work.
I'd never heard this blues until unplugged. It was totally revelatory. It fit perfectly as an opening tune. The original on UA-cam is such a gift. This is where I hope to get to one day. Until then I'll keep thumping my thumb.
the tip about the settings button to slow the lesson down made all the difference in the world in attempting to play a song that I thought I would never be good enough to play. Outstanding job! TY

I've been trying my hand at this for two months now, this is by far the best tutorial I've seen. It finally sounds like the real thing! Thank you so much for this.
I have taken lessons online and in private and NONE were able to teach the Delta Blues like you! You have a new subscriber, follower, and soon student. You are a awesome teacher!
John-- even with my tight budget, I decided that you are the BEST blues teacher, especially acoustic, On YT. I'll skip some "meat" during a week. You are worth it!! I renewed my subscription.
@@BluesGuitarInstitute Been working on this now for about a week. Countless replays, and slowed down to 75% works like a charm. All of you guys at the Institute are to be commended. This is how tutorials are meant to be done. No endless talking - right to the heart of the matter. Thanks again. Back to the acoustic I go! Cheers, Rob
excellent ! ive picked this song as my next project , scanned around u-tube for lessons and I feel real comfortable going with yours !.......Thanx, great Job !.....
Great Lesson! Your version is the best I have found and your teaching method is the most approachable. This has cut weeks off my time to get this song down!
Hi from France, thank you for all your lessons, (one of) the best teacher for the blues on the net. If i were in your country, i'll be happy to go and meet you. I do play on a Larrivée D10 and enjoy it every days.. Regards. B
Super useful lesson. Do you sing? It doesn't really matter. You play like a boss, so even if you sing like a drain, it would still be an added bonus if you would demo where the lyrics fall as you play through the song.
Definitely wouldn't've been possible for me to play this at the beginning of quarantine. Just mastered it now in one sitting thanks to all my practicing over it. Thanks for one of the best youtube lessons i've ever seen
Taught myself this a couple of years back, a completely different way, and was pretty happy with it, but always a little off. This showed me the proper way. Fantastic. Thanks much.
Love love love your channel - my level has significantly improved by using you 😁 …. Please Please Please can you do a lesson how to play Malted Milk (preferably Clapton unplugged but any version would do!!!) 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is a long shot but I gotta ask...while (me) playing the piano at the "Cosmo" back in 2010 in 'Old Town San Diego, I met and talked to a lot of good folks that were either passing through, or were just locals, a youngster approached me and wanted to know if I would be interested in getting together and jam, and see what would transpire ? You bare a strong resemblance to that feller, plus it was a long time ago! He never came back, that's all I'm saying. Plus, I really like how you set up the chords in chronological order as they should appear,,,that's good thinking !! Thanks !
Hey Anthony, that wasn't me. I haven't been out that way. Wouldn't that be crazy if it was though? Ha! Thanks for the comment and I appreciate you checking out the video!
Trying to do this really brings home just how “clumsy” I am. Lol So, I’m borrowing parts of this and making up something else. What the hey hey...it’s all conditional traditional, right? Much thanks again, John!
Awesome! Now I have to practice because my fingers kinda drag... agility is a matter of training and relaxing... I'm not always relaxed when I play...😕🎵🎵🎵
Hi Nicole! I'm glad you brought that up. It's a big issue for alot of players, I think finding the right balance of grip is key. Most of us tend to squeeze way to hard..I know I used to do that but now I try to play with a much lighter touch (helps me play longer too!). Cheers!
Hi Stuart! I use D'Addario Phosphor Bronze 12 - 53. I experiment often with nails vs tips but currently just picking with the finger tips. I like shorter nails in daily life :) Thanks for the question. Cheers!
Sure, if it sounds good. :) If you're talking about the part that I think you are, as long as you have the 2nd string under the barre, it will sound just fine.
Idea: Why not add a little tab in the corner of the screen for these chords up the neck. That way illiterate people like my friend who wishes to remain anonymous who don’t know the names of all the chords they know can find them
Wow! Thank you for supporting BGI and these lessons. Can't believe this is #tuesdayblues 300! So grateful and I hope you dig this video. Play On!
3 years later...still very cool man. Nice just to listen to the intro even.

Best lesson for this tune that I can find on UA-cam. You have a calm & patient way of teaching it that is easy to follow. Thank you 🙏

Super cool. Wish I had the thumb coordination to do this. Going to work on it anyway.

Bless thanks. I learned this in a poor week. You taught us. X
Thanks again! Already had the main riff down but couldn’t get a good lesson on the rest. You nailed both.
Glad to help!
Love it John! If I worked on this and nothing else I could get it down in about 18 mos. Thanks
This is incredible. Great tutorial!
Thanks man! This song is a blues mantra ... thanks for teaching! Congratulations from Brazil (Cananeia, city) :)

Big Bill keeps pumping the bass notes at the turnaround
indeed. levels up the challenge a bit but sounds so good to keep that bass pumping.
Cheers. And wow 300! I’ve only known the last dozen or so Tuesdays but I’m grateful This 20 mins will be my next week, Hey hey! Thanks again.

nice lesson, also i see you bumped your laravee haha
a few times but it adds character, right :)
At last!!! “Hey Hey” played correctly with the constant thumpin’ E on the bottom!!! Thank you 🙏🏾

@@BluesGuitarInstitute sounds like my problem masterbating
Good insight there. I know I play better at weekends when I'm rested and relaxed than when I play after work.
THE tune!
What strings do you use? And do you use nails or just finger tips? I use the 52-10 Ernie ball rock n blues. 😎💪
Hi Stuart! I use D'Addario Phosphor Bronze 12 - 53. I experiment often with nails vs tips but currently just picking with the finger tips. I like shorter nails in daily life :) Thanks for the question. Cheers!
Advice: can I pick the b string while plucking a and b chords?
Sure, if it sounds good. :) If you're talking about the part that I think you are, as long as you have the 2nd string under the barre, it will sound just fine.
@@BluesGuitarInstitute thank you very much...love your channel
Good lesson but I hear and see EC play a slide on the turnaround to the B on the 3rd string..and I play it that way.
Yes! That sneaks in to the way I play it too from time to time. I like it. Thanks for mentioning it.
@@BluesGuitarInstitute welcome it’s a fun song to play!
Is your guitar tuned up a half step?
I'm in standard tuning in this one.
Big Bill played an E° chord, not the E7 that Clapton played, he played the C# instead of D.
Who cares Paul
Great! You can really handle the fretboard, and make music out of it :)
What is the guitar please ? :)
It's a Larrivee OM-09. 👍
Change "Tuesday blues" with "bluesday"
Nice! Happy Bluesday!
Just watch Big Bill play this on his porch (video on UA-cam) Don’t bother with the Clapton version. Bill’s original version is miles ahead.
I’m sorry, but “Hey,Hey” was “not” by Eric Clapton. It has only one writer, and that would be Big Bill Broonzy. You’re welcome.
Idea: Why not add a little tab in the corner of the screen for these chords up the neck. That way illiterate people like my friend who wishes to remain anonymous who don’t know the names of all the chords they know can find them
Doc Watson video was spot on... sadly this shows how weak Clapton's version is...
Take crapton's name off -- this is Broonzy's tune!
Amazing guitar lesson. Thank you very much!!!
