Thanks Holistic Hooves! That's a very nice compliment from a hoof specialist! We certainly love our little donkey! She's the queen of our little hobby farm. 🤠😎😁
CAmericaProjects.com you are welcome! And I should have said Good job on your trimming too. I love when owners learn how to do it. I have an online course just for this. Enjoyed some other videos on your page too!
My farrier informed me that she has oddly shaped hooves probably due to inbreeding. So you can't always trim them back too far otherwise over trimming the outer hoof would make her hooves very very sore.
Very helpful I will be needing to do this to some mini donks fairly soon and I'm not very familiar with them. I wasn't sure if there would be a big difference from a horse or not. Thanks so much.
As a farrier, I believe this isn't ideal, u may affect the natural angles of their hooves and make them uncomfortable, I suggest using your rasp (the less aggressive side) and round the hoof.
Ok thanks for the advice. I had to start doing this myself because I could not get a reliable Ferrier to come out and clip one little donkeys hooves. This happened time and time again so luckily a lady showed me how to file them to keep them in order in the meantime.
Cute video! Toes can still come back more on all four hooves. I love how you handle your donkey!

Aren't they just?! Not much in life is cuter than a mini donkey!
Sweetly sings the donkey at the break of day!
So very sweetly! Especially when it's vacationing in Florida!
