Today on Let Dirt Fly, we diagnose Seth's 2015 Polaris Sportsman 570 to see why his quad is overheating. We end up replacing both the thermostat and the water pump impeller. Save yourself money at the dealer! Also we show how not to test a thermostat using fire! Check out the vid!

Just a quick side note. I've replaced a lot of thermostats in my day, on cars, trucks and atv's, and just because it's new, doesn't mean it will work. Trust me, I'll drop the new one in a pot of boiling water. I've found a few that didn't work. I hate draining new coolant. Food for thought. Nice video. "Ride Hard and Be Safe" MN Bill

Good job with the show and tell. Sold my last Sportsman last year and I'm down to an Xplorer 2 stroke air cooled, and a couple of Brute Forces. Great tips, now I have to look into the same job on the Kawi's so I'm better prepared.

Thank you for the video, it was good information. Sharing a wild scenario, of my Sportsman, the fan nut came off, and the fan came loose, turned out to be the reason for mine overheating... Very bizarre, as mine is only used for 5-10 mph, puttering around my land, hauling a tools plastic trailer!

If I were you I would start a separate channel for the dirt track cars. Also...... I have a question. What is the name of the song you play at the end of your videos. This was on a 570. Go to partzilla and check for a part number. That should be the easiest way to get it.

I got Polaris parts. It wasn't expensive.
You should have put it in a cup of water and heated up the water
