Also you can tell the Dub was never intended due to the lip syncing being off at times and some scenes it’s really noticeable. My assumption is they rushed it. If you’re gonna do a game set in Japan with English dub you need Asian voice actors that clearly have an Accent an accent can go a long way like Ghost of Tsushima and Sleeping Dogs.

the dub in yakuza 7 is amazing, it's been a long time since a game made me feel like if i was watching a movie, even after playing many cinematic games.
Im just talking outta my ass here but maybe its because its been a good while since we've had an action adventure japan-made game with english dub. Now that there's plenty of cinematic adventure type english games in .. well.. english.. so its a nice change of pace to see a japanese game dubbed in english. Ofc there are exceptions of japanese game series still ongoing with english language like the ATLUS lineup of games (SMT, Persona) but im talking campy stuff like God Hand Feels like its the 2000s all over again.
It's probably an acquired taste but after playing 7 yakuza games before in Japanese I could only take about 5 seconds of Y7's dub before I alt f4d the game and made sure the Japanese dub was enabled before I started the game.
