I LOVE watching people's reactions to hearing this song for the first time. I'm a recovering drug addict 6/4/19💜💜 I work with people in active addiction and his music, especially this song has helped people get clean. He has a beautiful soul! He is a voice for the voiceless. 💜💜💜💜
He said in an interview one time he wrote this song on a Saturday, recorded this Sunday, Monday they shot the video, and it was released that Tuesday. The man is brilliant singer/songwriter who isn't one that needs a genre label. Writes songs that people can definitely relate. Please check out anything Jellyroll I promise you won't be disappointed.
Most under rated artist of his time . The man is a brilliant lyricist and has a real story . His songs come from the depth of the human soul . Some things can be taught other things we can only be prepared for but have to feel to know ....he touches that spot
@matsauvagea couldn't agree more! Absolutely love his story and love his way of connecting with the masses. I feel way more relate to his music than those that don't. That seems hard to find in a true artist that knows the pains of the masses.
We are losing so many young people that feel this way. That's why we need more affordable mental health treatment available so they Don't turn to drugs! 😭 I've lost a stepson and almost lost his son not that long ago. Thank goodness I got my grandson to the hospital in time! 😭
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son so who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him.” God bless everybody that is reading this prayers for you all and your family in Jesus Christ name amen 🙏
This song makes me cry all the time. I mean sobbing! Recovering alcoholic here with n amazing husband and family. I hate to have put them through what I have and I can only thank god for everything and everyday I have!
I'm over 60 & love Jellyroll! A friend sent me this song a couple years ago & I instantly became a fan, he puts into lyrics how a lot of us are feeling 💕
I love this song more than I could explain. This song gave my daughter her voice. She is 5 years old with down syndrome none verbal she never made any noise aside from when she was hurt or sick she would cry a little bit. But something about this song she loves it started with just trying to hum along then other noises now a couple words I never heard my daughter say daddy before this song it was on repeat for weeks now she doesn't say but a rare few words. But she mumbles all the time now. It all started with this song. I couldn't thank jelly roll enough.
I have known Jason since 2007. He is the most amazing person! I was going through a hard time and no matter what Jason, and his dad Buddy were there for me! Rest in peace Buddy! Jason, thanks for all our talks and I will always remember us sitting in Buddy's room at WCMC talking to him the day before he passed. I remember at Buddy's service how you were talking to a group of people, and you saw me and came over and gave me a huge hug. You looked at me and said, "Pops would be so glad you were here." I would have been there for him and you no matter what! Thanks again Jason!
This was my son in law's favorite artist and song. Jelly's music hit him hard, too. He passed away 3 years ago of a heart attack at the age of 33. Every time I hear Jelly I cry. Thomas (my SIL) had a rough life, and I tried to be the mom he never had. He needed love and guidance and I loved him as if he were my own. Jelly covers multiple genres and I think its awesome. I personally love all types of music. As long as the tune's good I'm happy. People need to not be so narrow minded. Thanks for this reaction.
I have followed Jelly since his rap days. I started following his wife, Bunnie, on Instagram in early 2020. I would occasionally comment on her posts and send messages about her IG stories. In late 2020 she somehow found out that my family was struggling pretty hard and wouldn't be able to have Thanksgiving. She messaged me on IG and asked for my information and sent us the money to buy Thanksgiving dinner. On Thanksgiving I sent her a photo of all of the food and thanked her and Jelly. Her response, "We've been there babe. Love ya!" These two are the most down to earth, incredibly humble people. Jelly deserves everything, and then more. ❤❤
I saw Jelly Roll last year at Louder than Life. When he sang Son of a Sinner, there was not a dry eye at that place. The sight of thousands of Heavy Metal/Rock fans ugly crying tells you how good this man truly is.
Said pretty much the same words to my husband way back 14 years ago. He loved me through the healing process. Prayed for 5 years for God to send me a man for me. ❤
No matter who you are there is a time when everyone needs to be saved. Many times we are our worst enemy and it's hard to find our way but Jelly is proof anything is possible. A true inspiration of what is possible. ❤❤❤❤❤
I didn't think I would care for Jelly Roll because I thought he was only rap. When I first listened to this song about 6 months ago I was amazed at the raw honesty of it. I have enjoyed his music ever since. One of my favorites is "Son of a Sinner".
90’s country will always be my favorite because thats the generation of music that made me fall in love with country music, but these days I like to follow guys like Jelly Roll, Upchurch, Hardy, etc because I’m so sick of the fake entertainers and I love artists who wrote some or all of their music, that aren’t always bound by record labels, that do the music that makes them feel something.
One artist that doesn't get a lot of attention these days that I always loved is Uncle Kracker. He did some fun songs, but one that I think will hit you, being in a career that has you traveling, is one of his personal songs called Letter to My Daughters. It has always been a tremendously powerful song to me, and really speaks to the sacrifice that is part of making a living away from home.
Jelly roll is amazing. Ive fallowed him for 6 years. Hes always been great. He got me through one of the hardest times in my life. Getting off drugs. The stuff only 5% can come off of. I must say im loving his country more than his older stuff. Its all great. His atuff with struggle is freakn just.... awsome. Love this dude
I love me some jelly roll when this song first came out I burst into tears 😭 but felt so proud of him 💯and so happy for his new life ahead and he’s so humble 💙 every time I hear his songs I tear up 🥺 🎶music is life! 🎶🥰✌🏽music heals the soul ❤️🩹
God Bless Jelly Roll. Please pray for my granddaughter 🙏 We have been trying for 5 years to help her with a Heroin Addiction. I'm a 68 year old grandma. I pray everyday for her. I'm so scared to answer the phone. I'm afraid to get that call ..That she is no longer with us. I just don't want to leave this world before I know she is ok. No one is a lost cause. ❤ Love you Jelly Roll. This song says it all. Thank you for your great reaction. Keep up all your great work❤
I saw him on Reels. He was hurt and angry because he was being hating on for changing his life and music. It broke my heart. I hope he is getting more support than hatefulness.
He thankfully does feel the love and support from most. Has said he is a lover and not a fighter and knows most haters are going through it themselves and some of the songs may hit a little too personal to come to terms with but understands it. I think he has an amazing support system and even tho some country "fans" may not support him, it seems the artist community welcomes him which is beautiful to see.
I'm so glad to see you react to not only Jelly Roll, but this song of his specifically. His songs are eye-opening to country music fans....Jelly Roll is breaking ground with the topics and his lyrics on country radio
Yo... Last out of 6 kids at 47 all I heard was.. Conway Twitty ( my and every mom's favorite 🙄) Sawyer Brown, Travis tritt, Hank Williams, George Jones ( who's going fill those shoes)...Wait...... Jelly Roll?
I have been waiting for you to do this song!!!!!! My brother had my play this song for him as he was dying in my car from alcohol poisoning. One minute he was singing and talking to me on the way to the ER and the next minute I was doing sternal rubs. Jelly Roll has changed our family. My brother has been in treatment 4 times since that night. Everything time we keep on fighting and we keep on supporting him. This song has changed my life.
Your story went straight to my heart, I hope in time you can reflect and smile. Take each day and remember him and heal ❤ I’ve been there and still remembering and healing
This review is what I've been looking for! Not those who comment about the camera going in and out of focus or about his choice of microphone. Your reaction to Jelly's raw sound mirrors most people's, it is honest and pure.
Jelly is an inspiration, an amazing talent and seems to be a very humble man. When he and Craig Morgan sang together it was hard to hear just how amazing he is because he was so emotional on stage
This man is amazing and this song is something very special. listen I’m 54 years old. Been around for a long time. I’ve heard a lot of music over the decades, and there are certain songs that just tug at your heart and this is one of them.
I have been listening to Jelly Roll for years. Until I heard his music and voice I could not remember the words to music. But…..Jelly Roll. I could remember his music and the words for the first time in my life. Now I’m starting to remember more and more music. I have all his music. I relate to so many of his words.
The first time I heard the song I thought it was a great song, but every time I hear it there’s a lyric that really resonates with me at the time and I lose it. 😢
this song is so incredibly relatable! first time i heard it i was sobbing before it even got to the middle. knowing how life and fear can hold you back from even believing in yourself. to this day i still tear up listening to it. im so glad you finally reacted to it.
Jelly Roll is absolutely amazing. This song resonated deep within my soul. I have a son going through this and it’s heartbreaking. I stay prayed up over him. Jelly Roll is an inspiration to all.
With the way things seem to touch you, and the way you feel about your little girls, and if you haven’t done so already, please listen to Home Free’s “From Here To The Moon And Back”. It may cause you to tear up, but I promise, if a tear falls it will be falling on a smile!
I'm so glad you reacted to this artist. I've only heard him on his own once before and I didn't like the song. It shows that you need to listen to more than one song to get to know an artist. Thank you for sharing this amazing song.
The words of this song were as if my son wrote them. It came out when my TJ was in the living hell of addiction and hating himself for it bc he thought he didn’t deserve a life, happiness, forgiveness and mostly our love. We fought it together, hard. But 1 pill with enough Fentanyl in it to kill 16 grown men ended his life. He’s free now, but I’m broken. I miss my son. This song is so very beautiful and ugly at the same time. 💔
I’m so sorry for ur loss ! This broke my heart I tore my family’s trust away from me because of addiction and loss my daughters bond with me as well and still don’t have the bond with my oldest and my grand girls neither ! I pray eventually I will
I seen Jelly in concert 2 years ago before he blew up. It was the best concert I had ever been to. He sounds just as great in concert! Seeing him again in august. Check out Ryan Upchurch. His mixture is rap and country. If you want to go down the country rap rabbit hole try Adam Calhoun, and Struggle Jennings also. You will be surprised.
Because I'm old (53), I had never heard of Jelly Roll until I saw he would be performing on TV for the 2024 New Year. Because I listen to the old jazz that my father and his father liked, I thought of the pianist Jelly Roll Morton (1890-1941).
Thankfully he has. He and his wife have a beautiful journey of contouring trauma and becoming the best versions of themselves. JellyRoll now has full custody of his daughter as well. 😀
I'm 68 and I first heard this shortly after it was released. I must have listened to it 100 times since then, but yeah, I was sitting here wiping the tears as soon as he started to sing.
Just found you. Your face when Jelly started singing was priceless. You earned a new sub! Jelly is a hell of a songwriter and storyteller. Great Reaction!
Jelly is badass he is a cool dude that turned his life around he is the voice of alot of broken people he deserves all the best should hear him speak at the Senate hearing on a fentanyl bill
I love this song jelly roll like so sad in a dark place in life just like a big cuddle teddy 🐻 u just want to give him a hug yhe piain u can see the pain in his eyes u can hear voice in u can feel this song is very special to him u are worth than know u are never alone u will always have someone out that more of than u do yourself this man wear heart on sleeve his not afraid to show it
My daughter died after 25 years of addiction, I heard this song on my way home. It spoke to how she lived her life this way. I cried so hard. I could not save her. She did not want to change until it was to late.
There is a version of this on UA-cam filmed in Fort Wayne Indiana right after he went platinum? I believe. You can really feel his emotion in that video. Highly recommend it.
This song is so damn powerful and it’s is everything I always wanted to say about my addiction ….. jelly roll is one of the best song writers and music ever
it's been a 2 yrs since first hearing this song (J Roll fan since the 10 minute freestyle hit) and still get chills. blessings n his documentary is coming out on hulu end of May
I love your empathy. It's not something you've lived through, but you watch/listen to his story and it brings you to tears. That's impressive. Jelly reminds me of a friend of mine that passed a year ago at the age of 39. He had the biggest heart and was one of the best men I knew. But he was raised in a situation where he had to do what he had to do to survive. He overcame all of that, had a great wife, 5 kids that are amazing and a decent job that helped him provide for his family. Then someone made some false allegations against him, and he was right back in the system. In and out of jail all over again. He worked so hard to be the man he knew he was. It's heartbreaking. I miss him. Luckily, Jelly found his way out.
Most modern artists are trying to write songs to sell millions.... Jelly wrote a song to reach the next man/woman... And in doing so, he reached MILLIONS. The power of a rare approach to music creation.
I was in country radio for years in Atlanta and Craig Morgan was on my show several times. He is an outstanding human being and was always one of my favorites.
I think it is Country Soul music He will help others start thinking of doing something better just by singing. He did get help. Sometimes, it starts with counseling, or it may be a person who helps them grow first. I was a LPC (counselor) for 20 years
This is it this is why you don't judge a book by its cover what an amazing talent we would be missing if we blue him off as just another rapper open minds lead to open hearts
I LOVE watching people's reactions to hearing this song for the first time. I'm a recovering drug addict 6/4/19💜💜 I work with people in active addiction and his music, especially this song has helped people get clean. He has a beautiful soul! He is a voice for the voiceless. 💜💜💜💜
I wish you the best! My son lost his battle. Fight! It’s not just you life that is impacted. You’re important to someone.

WHAT SHE SAID!!!❤❤❤
No he had this song we told him this his way out!
It's why America fell in love with him. Raw honesty of which we all need to hear.
So true
been listening to him for a while now we indians love him too lol he's actually quite famous among youngsters here

That is awesome... Jelly roll helps with so many people❤
Awesome
Daughters are a blessing.
Watched a TV documentary about silent dementia patients. When music from their youth was played they suddenly woke up and sang or talked. Who knew.

From one man to another....... ..your reaction is EXACTLY how this song hit me. Like a brick. This man is solid,to the core. ❤
And I subscribed
..keep on rolling...❤
My husband brought him to my attention about 2 years ago. He is so much more dynamic than all of the main stream. It’s fantastic
Gotta check out Son of a Sinner. I feel it's his best song and resonates the most with me
Definitely my favorite song he has. I haven't heard save me before until now but I'm loving it 🔥
Yes my Favorite too!!
I sing son of a sinner in my head all the time. Beautiful song.
So many songs are killer songs depends on what your life is experiencing. Son of a sinner, save me, need a favor, she, same ole AH, so many to name.
Aren't we all...
Jelly Roll walks i. His own truths, God bless him!!❤
Absolutely hits you. This song is what a rescued soul feels like that was once haunted. Thank you JR
I didn't think I would care for Jelly Roll because I thought he was only rap. When I first listened to this song about 6 months ago I was amazed at the raw honesty of it. I have enjoyed his music ever since. One of my favorites is "Son of a Sinner".
This is my first Hear of Jellyroll. His beauty and his voice was wasted on Rap. His lyrics needs to be heard!
Oh his rap can hit ya just the same honestly. Not usually a fan of rap but JR I can get behind.
This man is my 15 the old's favorite artist. He saw him in concert when he was 8 and still loves him
One artist that doesn't get a lot of attention these days that I always loved is Uncle Kracker.
I love me some jelly roll when this song first came out I burst into tears 😭 but felt so proud of him 💯and so happy for his new life ahead and he’s so humble 💙
every time I hear his songs I tear up 🥺
🎶music is life!

Jelly Roll?
Wow. I was going to tell you you have a beautiful butterfly in your house, but then Jellyroll opened his mouth. Wow! Wow! ❤
This man has such a beautiful soul.. love his music
♥️
Jasmine Ridley, thank you for sharing this 😢 🙏
The raw power in his voice is done so effortlessly. This song tugs…😢
This review is what I've been looking for! Not those who comment about the camera going in and out of focus or about his choice of microphone. Your reaction to Jelly's raw sound mirrors most people's, it is honest and pure.
Dude the more times you listen to it the more it hits, especially if you feel its fitting of yourself...
'Same A$$hole' is another self reflective song of his that hits me so hard personally
This and Smokin Section are two of my favs
@Kimberly Osborne both very good songs but if im being honest I haven't heard a song that didn't go on my Playlist.
Its cool to see jelly rise. Long time listener. He's one of us that's making it out
Jelly is an inspiration, an amazing talent and seems to be a very humble man. When he and Craig Morgan sang together it was hard to hear just how amazing he is because he was so emotional on stage
He is awesome. He don’t hide his past. But shows how God can save a Lost Cause.

Jelly’s my jam!❤
His music is heartbreaking at times yes, but so eye opening.
Jelly touches my soul like nobody .nobody has ever been close to this dude! The greatest.!
He's such a raw and emotional singer. I just love him...
this song is so incredibly relatable! first time i heard it i was sobbing before it even got to the middle. knowing how life and fear can hold you back from even believing in yourself. to this day i still tear up listening to it. im so glad you finally reacted to it.
Kentucky puts out some great performers..... Jelly Roll and Chris Stapleton to name a few and lets not forget Loretta Lynn~
Jelly Roll is absolutely amazing. This song resonated deep within my soul. I have a son going through this and it’s heartbreaking. I stay prayed up over him. Jelly Roll is an inspiration to all.
Love him...Love this song and Fall In The Fall with Struggle Jennings!👏🏼❤💔
Thank you my friend for doing this reaction!!!!
With the way things seem to touch you, and the way you feel about your little girls, and if you haven’t done so already, please listen to Home Free’s “From Here To The Moon And Back”. It may cause you to tear up, but I promise, if a tear falls it will be falling on a smile!

Saw him last year in 100+ degree weather in Rogers, AR. Awesome show!! Every fan that was there, 10,000 got a free copy of his album!!!
Absolutely ASTOUNDING!

You feel it...I can see on your face! Faith...Love...Hope! Its all we got.
My god, this brought me to tears.I hope this man finds his happiniess thru his music.he's very talented
Thankfully he has. He and his wife have a beautiful journey of contouring trauma and becoming the best versions of themselves. JellyRoll now has full custody of his daughter as well. 😀

The raw emotion and rough growl then going into the angelicly soft Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Keep sharing your story and faith!
My daughter died after 25 years of addiction, I heard this song on my way home. It spoke to how she lived her life this way. I cried so hard. I could not save her. She did not want to change until it was to late.
Definitely need to check out more. His story is uplifting and his wife Bunny is equally as amazing. Two honest people sharing thier lives
Jelly Roll is an absolute genius...My husband played Sunday Morning...in 2016 for me...then my friends played Son of a sinner...
😔
he tried to make in other types of music and no one would take him. And us country folks took him open arms. We love Jelly!!!
Most modern artists are trying to write songs to sell millions.... Jelly wrote a song to reach the next man/woman... And in doing so, he reached MILLIONS. The power of a rare approach to music creation.
What a gorgeous voice he has!!!
I was in country radio for years in Atlanta and Craig Morgan was on my show several times. He is an outstanding human being and was always one of my favorites.
I think it is Country Soul music
He will help others start thinking of doing something better just by singing. He did get help. Sometimes, it starts with counseling, or it may be a person who helps them grow first. I was a LPC (counselor) for 20 years
I m comforted by your profession of faith. Be blessed brother.
Could you imagine Jelly Roll and Chris Stapleton?!?! I’m gonna see Eric Church and Jelly on Sept and I CANNOT WAIT!!!
Your pure emotion... that says it all
This is it this is why you don't judge a book by its cover what an amazing talent we would be missing if we blue him off as just another rapper open minds lead to open hearts
Makes me cry every friggin time
Jelly is so awesome!!!
First time Ive heard this song. Sad, beautiful, and hopeful ❤
A good buddy of mine told me about this song, a few years ago. It was my first experience of Mr. Roll. I was hooked!!!

Y ok
We all have had a moment that we felt this way.
He bares his heart and soul.❤
It's beautiful and sad all at the same time, he has the voice of an angel, but I can feel his pain.
His songs just punch you in the heart.
the way he looks at your soul through the lens. damn
One of my favorite songs of his is an older one called same asshole. He wrote it sitting in the hospital watching his dad die of cancer.
