Yes! As others have stated, this is written from the "other woman's" perspective. The subtle changes at the end show how she's fed up with all the broken promises to leave his wife and be with her. So she's telling him to stay (with his wife). So powerful.

This one always hits hard whenever I listen to it. You can really feel her pain, it's about a real scenario that happened in her life. But if I'm correct she's singing it from the other woman's point of view but I'm not 100% on that one

I love the raw emotion by Jennifer and how she’s hurting, begs him to stay with her, but develops strength as the song progresses until she tells him to stay away. This topic may be uncomfortable for some but Country tells it like it is and if there’s any emotion that you’re dealing with, this genre will bottle those feelings up and make music that will hopefully help you. That’s a brutally raw and emotional song. I believe that when you commit and pledge your loyalty to someone you love, you go all in. There’s no middle ground, you don’t mess about or allow yourself to be in situation where you could make a stupid life changing mistake. There’s a great line from a Garth Brooks song “avoid that circumstance where’s no second chance”. Why betray your wife/husband? Why mess with the other woman/man’s emotions? Why ruin your own life? Why be a selfish tw*t?
In the official video, the problem they had wasn't Jennifer's emotions but Kristian getting too emotional. He's protective of Jennifer and with her husband cheating on her, he had a hard time doing the video so they kept having to redo it. In one shot in the official video as he turns his head, you can see the anger in his eyes.

She is singing from the mistresses point of view. She is so emotional because her husband cheated on her. To be able to see the other woman’s side is amazing and heartbreaking. You will notice in country music songs the song will start off with a certain lyric, but then they will flip the script, so that the words that meant one thing at the beginning of the song now means something completely different. At the beginning of the song, the mistress is begging the man to stay with her. At the end of the song she’s telling the man that he needs to stay with his wife because she’s not gonna deal with his crap anymore. Amazing song amazing reaction, thank you.

This one always hits hard whenever I listen to it. You can really feel her pain, it's about a real scenario that happened in her life. But if I'm correct she's singing it from the other woman's point of view but I'm not 100% on that one

That song and especially the video hits you right in the feels. I love the raw emotion by Jennifer and how she’s hurting, begs him to stay with her, but develops strength as the song progresses until she tells him to stay away. This topic may be uncomfortable for some but Country tells it like it is and if there’s any emotion that you’re dealing with, this genre will bottle those feelings up and make music that will hopefully help you. Great songs along the lines of this one, about infidelity, realizing your mistakes, or even getting the courage to break free from a damaging relationship are All These Years by Sawyer Brown; Promises, Reasons I Cheat, and Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart by Randy Travis; It’s Your Call by Reba McEntire; and You Were Mine by the Dixie Chicks. Man, I’d love for you to react to those songs!!!

Sebs, I don't care who you are. If you aren't moved by this performance from Jennifer Nettles, then you don't have a heart! She kills me with this song. And like you, it makes me want to do right by my wife and be thankful for having her in my life. Like Jennifer alluded to in the song, she will only beg you to STAY for so long before she tells you to go STAY with the other gal. That's if you even get that lucky at all. Jennifer's husband was having an affair, she found out and went through a divorce. She wrote this song from her husband's side woman's perspective as a way of dealing with her heartbreak. She often will tear up during the performance.

I remember the first time I heard this. I got mad and didn't finish. I don't like cheating and I couldn't image glorifying it. Then I heard the end, some time later. She got off her knees and told him to stay where he belonged. He couldn't give her what she needed. Very powerful song.

There’s no middle ground, you don’t mess about or allow yourself to be in situation where you could make a stupid life changing mistake. There’s a great line from a Garth Brooks song “avoid that circumstance where’s no second chance”.

In the official video, the problem they had wasn't Jennifer's emotions but Kristian getting too emotional. He's protective of Jennifer and with her husband cheating on her, he had a hard time doing the video so they kept having to redo it. In one shot in the official video as he turns his head, you can see the anger in his eyes.
