Why is it written in the checklist to land ASAP if primary servo 1 or 2 fails? Doesn’t back-up pump take over sa primary servos should it fail?

It depends on the EP. If you have a hyp pump fail and the backup comes on it’s a land as soon as practicable. If the back up does not come on it’s Land ASAP because there is nothing pressurizing one of the sets of primary servos in this case.
If you just have a primary servo fail that is an issue with the servo itself not the hydraulic pumps so doesn’t matter what is pressurizing it the servo itself is broken so it’s ASAP.

@@scud-runner thank you so much. It all makes sense now. So switching to 1st or 2nd stage only isolates hyd pressure on the damaged servo, meaning only one servo is left for forward/aft/lateral movement. And if that gets damaged the will be no more way to control the aircraft which is why its land ASAP.

Exactly because the servo is either malfunctioning or could have a leak in it.
