Thanks for sharing! Always loved brown rice, but never got it right in my InstantPot. The water/rice ratio, amount of time and manual release combination is perfect for me! It come out DELICIOUS!
I do my rice in the instant pot also.. even rice pudding.. comes out great.. I also cook my eggs for my potato salad in the IP. No peeling.. my instant pot is one of the best appliances in my life..
Have a great day ❤️
This is awesome. I have a huge 20 gallon container of brown rice which is usually only good for 5 years TOPS! If I can get that all cooked up (It is 3 years old) and put in food saver bags and put them in one of my big freezers, that would be awesome! THANK YOU FOR SHARING! I will definately try this!
Love this idea! I honestly never thought about freezing brown rice!! I wish I would of thought of that when my kids were little!! I’ll give this a go for sure!!
Thank you 💕❤️🙏🏼
Renea, I love love love my Instant Pot. And I love brown rice too. I love stir fry. I also love brown rice with chicken. Or brown rice and beans. Or brown rice in a soup. Thanks for the Instant Pot idea. Love from Ky. 😇♥
Thank you! I've never used my instant pot and I've had it over a year. I'll try rice first and go from there.
I will give it a try, it's less than half the cooking time that my rice cooker takes and I still end up with rock hard rice grains in spots.
Excellent Renea, I just bought a huge bag of brown rice. I love wild rice with some herbs too. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!
Want to amp up some rice, to use as a side dish, or under creamed chicken etc. In an instant pot on saute mode, melt butter, and saute some diced onion, carrot, and celery, with salt, pepper, garlic, and/or seasonings of choice. Then add your rice, use broth instead of water, if desired, drop in a bouillon cube for extra flavor, i did. Then cook on the rice setting. My family cleaned up every last bit, and asked if there was any more. This was not from a published recipe. I was inventing, and using what I had on hand.
Sounds amazing! I bet with some frozen peas, kale or spinach stirred in at the end would be a good too. Also, some thing called nutritional yeast (it's a vegan ingredient but it carries a lot of vitamins and tastes kind of nutty and cheesy....you can find it at your local grocery store perhaps, Amazon, or definitely whole foods would carry it. )
Let me ask you, though, did you use white or brown rice?

@@user-hp1pp7bz7b I used white rice.
Wonderful video, you are a very hard worker!!!
Got your cookbook. Love it❣️
Thank you, Renea.
Have you tried to do "instant" rice yet in your dehydrator or freeze dryer yet?
I love doing rice in the instant pot! So much easier!
I make instant rice all the time in my freeze dryer and I love it.
Renee, can you do a video on how long items can be kept. Like eggs, milk, flour, dry beans and others items you use in your household so many things can be use after dates but what! Thanks, Debra
Yes I can
Great idea
Hi Renee. I’m new at canning and last night I did pork and chicken breast.some of the very top pieces of meat isn’t in liquid is my food bad?
No it will be absolutely fine. It is safe.. It may discolor over time but rest assure it is safe.
