This episode takes place before S2E1 because it's at this moment that the Jedi discovered that there are separatist forces on Felucia wich lead to the 1st battle of Felucia in the 1st episode of the serie
Hondo was a nice little surprise in this episode. Its cool to see that he's doing stuff. Helps to make the world feel real. Like hondo was doing stuff even when not directly involved with the main cast
1:55 those are the Jungle Rancors from the deleted Movie scene with Ventress and Anakin. 3:30 Sugi was supposed to get killed in an unfinished Boba Fett/Cad Bane arc, in which Boba receives her weapon as his own. 5:30 That is Ahsoka's voice actress....unless you were joking lol 9:30 Sugi is also voiced by Anna Graves: Duchess Satine's VA 13:50 The Monke boi is also voiced by Matt Lanter :D
Hondo is the epidemy of True Neutral and I for some reason LOVE that about him. Need something from him or him from you? You guys will be laughing all the way to the bar for a drink. Stand in his way? He will not hesitate a second to gun you down, but he'd prefer to talk it out if he knows you first. And he'd always be open to talk about it when he has the upper hand.
@@OveranalyzingStarWars Favorite scene, hands down, is his reaction to the Younglings crafting their lightsabers. No intrisic gain, no way to benefit, but even he appreciates the art and wonder of watching someone build a lightsaber, something VERY few people outside the Jedi has probably scene.
@@marctaco2624 At the time, he was captured by Grievous and was being convinced to help them escape. You can argue it was his "fee" to watch it happen, but unlike any other deal he had made in the past, it was not for profit. From my understanding, most zabrak, like Sugi or Jedi Eeth Koth, are in fact from Iridonia, but tend to have more skin tone colors (and more commonly have hair), whereas Nightbrothers like Maul or Savage are from Dathomir and tend to have more vibrant colors and rarely seen with hair, and most of them tend to be men (as their counterparts on the planet tend to be the Dathomiri Nightsister witches), hence the difference between Sugi and Maul mentioned in this ep Love the vid, my guy; I feel like I always learn so much
I always forgot that Zabraks have a subspecies. I wonder if the Twi’lek senator is considered one as well considering how extremely different he looks.
I know I'm a little late but anyway. Yes iridonian zabrak come in male and female variants, both have horns and hair and their skin tends to be more tan Dathomirian zabrak are not really zabrak anymore, I don't think they are even counted as a sub species but as an entirely different one due to the extreme sexual dimorphism they exhibit. The male Dathomirians look like zabrak but with more red and yellow skin tones while the females look more humanoid like Ventress and the other witches
I enjoyed this episode and I feel like it fits the cable TV format as people tend to check into whatever's running then solely following a plot-based format. Fun fact, Embo was supposed to die in this episode. but it was changed.
Great episode, also those giant "pokemon" looking things are actually a type of rancor called a jungle rancor and was also in a deleted scene of the clone wars movie!

People like to call these one-shot episodes a filler, but it does one very important job that the main story can't since it needs to keep the focus. These episodes can be used to expand the galaxy, even if the stuff in them isn't brought up later it does establish their existence. Like you always say, the little details matter. Also I'm glad I wasn't the only one feeling something between Sugi and Obi-wan :D
@@OveranalyzingStarWars Which is yet another example of anything sexy in Star Wars being indentified with Twi'leks :D Also fun fact: this episode wasn't even a one-off as these exact group of bounty hunters comes back defending the Hutt Council against Maul.
I actually really like this episode. First time I watched it, I was like "yay Hondo" when he showed up, but then he just does really bad things. Hes such a good character man, you allways love and hate him at the same time :D
3:24 It makes sense. A town that seems abandoned, checking the building, especially after youve already looked arounf outside, to get an idea of what happened/where everyone is.
1:52 Apparently, those guys are called Jungle Rancors, so the more ya know I guess. Also, I actually really like these solo episodes that explore quick and fun ideas like these Bounty Hunters.
I always assumed these guys come from a different planet and just have a farm here. I can't imagine guys like these evolving on Felicia of all planets. I dunno maybe they can dig really well or something, but it's hard to see them as anything other than snacks for those blade leg monstrosities we saw in the arena in attack of the clones
This has probably been pointed out before by now but, I thought it was worth noting that several times throughout the video you refer to the bounty hunters as pirates and then wonder about their morality/deal-making compared to hondo. It'd make sense -if- they were pirates that they'd act more like hondo, but generally they're just space adventurers, probably closer to the neutral good ranking than most pirates.
For your question about the Republic not feilding a non-clone army: They did, it just isn't talked about all that much. Most non-clone forces were planetary defense forces that had been federalized. And even then, Palpatine would have had a hard time justifying all the militarization if Republic citizens were the ones being forced to do all the fighting. This militarization was key to him being able to even turn the Republic into the Empire. I really recommend you watch Generation Tech and Eckhartsladder, since they go over a lot of the background stuff for the Clone Wars, Generation Tech especially. Like, GT have a 1.5 hour long video all about the economics of the Republic alone.
The ruson reformation de militarised the galaxy local defence forces were used like the naboo star fighters but poor outer rim plants can't afford more than a few fighters. Corparations like the trade federation and the banking clan who own plants and have monopolies that span the galaxy have more than enough fire power to take one these local defence forces
“Whatever the hell this hat is made out of, it’s so cool how he uses it” Well fun fact, that’s not actually a hat, that is LITERALLY a shield that Embo just USES as a hat
Something I find interesting is that we visit Felucia very often in the show atleast 3 or 5 times by my count but we never really see that conflict go anywhere, it really helps sell the idea that the campaign on Felucia was a grueling one that was a constant back and forth between the GRA and CIS with neither side seemingly to gain a greater advantage over the other. Makes me wonder just how much left over ordnance and scrap is left littered around the planet, kinda like how their are undetonated mines and other explosives in Vietnam which there is still an estimated 800,000 tons of unexploded bombs left over to this day.
The reason they didn't use republic citizens is because they needed an army quickly and trying to train and arm a bunch of people who haven't seen combat for a very long time would be nearly impossible on a galactic scale
4:54 I don’t know if it’s still cannon, or if it ever was…but apparently there are two species of Zabrak in StarWars…you have Dathomiran Zabraks like Maul with red or yellow skin, tattoos, and typically no hair, and the night sisters are the females, (meaning Ventress is technically a Zabrak) and then you have Iradonian Zabraks like Sugi and Eeth Koth, who have more human-like skin tones and both sexes have horns and hair
The guys you said look like Pokemon are a subspecies of Rancor (which are called Jungle Rancor. I know, very creative.) native to Felucia, which makes absolutely no sense because normal Rancor are from a completely different planet. But then again there's a bunch of species in Star Wars that're native to multiple planets so I don't even know what point I'm getting at here.
Ok, you mentioned that the bounty hunter was a female zabrak, and that really confused me because I thought the night sisters were female zabraks... So wtf is Assaj and the night sisters?
I wondered that too and if I'm not mistaken the nightsisters were female zabraks that used some magic to combine with humans or vise versa or something. Which might have never even been true idk lmao

Maybe a side effect of Hondo being in a place is power lines randomly appearing.
This is why you are a Commander
He just takes them with them
