HEY! Sorry I missed the premiere, I was watching Steven Universe with my sister (don't ask), but I saw this and once again, you have outdone yourself, my good man. Can't wait to see the next episode. Peace.
P.S., If you get the time, I recommend reading a Clone Wars fanfic called War Bonds. It's long AF, and it makes a few minor changes to the story, but it's really good, and gives us some more time with minor clone characters, like our boys Trapper and Gearshift in this arc. Also lots of good Ahsoka/Rex content. So give it a read if you can. You won't regret it.
P.P.S., I can't help but find it funny that this video is 22 minutes and 24 seconds long. As in "2224". As in, Cody's number. That's pretty funny.
I remember watching this episode on CN completely horrified, but when the episode was over, I said "well at least we never have to see those zombies again," only of the next promo to say "Don't stick brain worms.... IN. YOUR. NOSE."
And then I was like, oh not this again!
Do you remember the anti-smoking campaign that was running at the time? The gist was that there was some black slime stuff that would pop out of people and force them to smoke and that it came from smoking. Really added to the nightmares I had at the time.
I wish I wasn't such a prick in 2008 and gave this show a chance lol. I basically waited until Disney bought it to watch it. Cherish what you have yall

I always avoided the next episode when I was younger because I had a massive fear of zombies but now I still find it disturbing and creepy but I'm not scared of it anymore

15:49 As far as details go, it's really cool that she calls it "Geonosia" instead of Geonosis. Most nations/countries in the world have different names for themselves than foreigners know them by---or even unique name preferences when translated to a more dominant language. In this case, Basic. It sells that despite being ugly bugs, they're still an individual culture with an identity.

Luminara doesn't take unnecessary risks, she forces others to take them.
I imagine a conversation between Barriss and Luminara about what happened.
Luminara: I was captured by an army of zombie bugs. So, we killed the queen, which was the only organism responsible for the survival of the species.
Barriss: But you saved the queen's eggs to ensure the species' survival, right?
Luminara: Who cares? The most important thing is that we captured Poggle. We accomplished our mission.

Sorry, but after such a multikill that could only be blamed on Luminara, Barriss must have been devastated. In the 5th season, she's not standing next to Luminara at the funeral; she's standing next to Ahsoka and Anakin. That definitely means something.
Additionally, I'm curious about what would have happened to Barriss if Luminara had "disappeared." Luminara's failure as a master was certainly one of the biggest reasons for Barriss's downfall. She would still carry some form of war trauma, still be horrified by the actions of the Jedi, but would she have become an extremist in this scenario?
In my opinion, if someone competent (Kenobi or Plo) became her new master, it could change a lot.

Rest in peace the 4 212th Troopers along with Gearshift. My first time exposed to this episode was through Lego Star Wars III funny enough which definetly toned down the horror yet still maintained it a bit. My first time watching this episode however became borderline nightmare fuel for me.

If I had a nickel for the amount of times Darth Vader went up against a Geonosian queen in the comics I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

1. A Queen orchestrated a Geonosian rebellion by sabotaging the Death Star that was under construction at the time above the planet. She attempted to make it look like accidents but Vader caught on and dealt with her
2. After the extermination of most of the Geonosian species one Queen decided to continue her "race" by any means necessary. Thereby she decided to attach her womb to a battle droid factory which she used to give birth to hybrid "offspring" of both battle droid and Geonosian. (At least that's how she saw it. Reality was they were just heavily modified droids programmed to act like Geonosians). Around this time Vader was looking for a private army of his own. Palpatine was enraged at him in light of his failure to protect the Death Star and Vader came to the conclusion that he needed an army of his own were his master to ever betray him. Thus, he came to Geonosis, ripped the droid factory right off of the Queen's womb and used it to create his own squad of Commando droids

14:32 I think it's more to the effect that _these_ zombies were the queen's guards, so they had to spend most of their time in the tunnels while the others who were on the surface were already used to the brightness. It's like turning on a light when you were asleep, it hurts for a bit and you see bright white, but given enough time you will adjust.

Interesting interpretation. I think the reason why Luminara wants to do this mission is not because she doesn't trust the clones but because she thinks it's her duty as a Jedi and telling the clones to do it instead would be mistreating already beaten up clones and her being lazy/bad. Given her talking about their great losses. She might have a survivor's guilt, especially were it not for Anakin's hope and Ahsoka's will to live, her padawan would've died.
Also, now we know where Barriss gets her tendency to sacrifice herself so easily.
It explains why Barriss was comfortable with killing people. To her, they were necessary sacrifices to achieve her goal of peace. An extremist and misguided version of an otherwise pretty sound ideal.

I always thought that the geonotians fought before were the living ones and once they died they were taken down and reanimated with the worms

Luckily for the Geonosians, they could easily get another Queen, but that eventually stopped when the Geonosians, including all the queens, were killed off for real when the Empire wiped them all out with toxic gas, due to the Geonosians building the Death Star, and the Empire wanting to keep it a secret, and because the Empire decided they didn't need the Geonosians anymore.
By the way that fan is part of her head.

I can actually answer how it works, even across long distances! Or well, not how it _actually_ works, but an idea of how it could/might work. It’ll probably be long but thats the price for overanalyzing superpowers, so you’ve been warned, I hope you enjoy!
So, getting the worms out of the way first; I have two ideas, both of them assuming they were part of/made by the queen, though I favor the second.
• Idea 1: The worms are mainly just muscle and neurons/brain. These neurons are "programmed" with specific orders that they follow and reprogram the brains they invade with.
• Idea 2: Same as the first part of idea 1 but act as "conduits" for the queen to mind control "wirelessly" from, forming a connection by "plugging into" the brain of the new host. Or, if the host is… amicable, the queen doesn’t have to fully control them/can let them retain their own control, mostly.
Okay, with the nightmare fuel out of the way, and using idea 2, onto how the mind control/hiveminding works.
The mindcontrol/hivemind part works by sending orders across the connection a worm makes to a brain. Being connected to the brain the queen receives any information that brain gets, letting her know what that brain sees and hears and feels and etc, forming the hivemind.
I hear you asking; if she’s directly controlling them, how can she handle multitasking so many at the same time so seamlessly? I have an answer for that as well, and it’s simple. A single brain has its limits, there’s no way her brain could handle so many, but she’s not _just_ using her own brainpower, she’s using the brainpower of every brain she’s connected to. Assuming she could spare enough brainpower to control/multitask even just two, the connection to even just one more "extends" how many she can control by another two, though this depends on how much available "brainpower" the controlled brain has compared to the queen.
…um, that’s it, i don’t know how to end it xD. Any thoughts?

Finally. Your back. First time watching these episodes, I was creepily curious about what I could do with the worms if they were real. Mind you, I was 11 or younger.
I love this arc especially the last 2 episodes due to the horror aspect which I was not expecting on first watch
the queen reminds of the aliens from 1986
My thoughts on the Queen would be that she learned basic and some other stuff via other offworlders she had captured and hiveminded prior to the genosis clone wars battles. I would guess that she doesn't have direct control, agreed, but does have access to the minds of the hiveminded if she chooses and probably everyone in the hivemind is connected in terms of knowledge before being hiveminded like skills and language and direct communication of present stuff (like warning the whole hivemind of where a threat is)
Maybe the queen could be considered more of an admin of the hivemind than the originator of it, just being up a level from the drones and zombies. I like (hate?) this idea because the idea that the worms are some primordial instinctual thing that none of the genosians individually can know or control makes it even creepier.
If it is like that, it could def explain why the rest of Genosis operates differently (like Poggle) as a society and as a military force. Perhaps all genosians start and end their lives in service of the hivemind, being born there and later becoming vessels after death.
We probably won't ever get more lore on the Genosians, as pretty much everything that has been made about them seems to just serve the purpose of making a creepy alien race to fight against the good guys, but it is fun to think about.
Super late, but, as for the queen speaking basic, if this is a hivemind, she might know basic because some other geonosian knows basic. Depends on the kind of hivemind though, if its just a pheromone led thing or if it's actually a mental connection.

Dude, ive got to be honest but i had no idea the dropships had nose art on them until i started watching you. I feel like they could really get away with anything because a) it was likely to slip past any executives and b) it would have required people to learn a made up alphabet for them to read it and the average viewer wouldn't put that effort in. I feel like if they wanted to they could put a bunch of swearing on one and no one would notice
