  • In this video, Jake Kallenbach (Burris Optics' lead engineer on the Oracle X) walks you through how to install the Oracle X rangefinding crossbow scope and get it sighted in.
The Oracle X features a modern, lightweight design that is waterproof, shockproof, fog proof, and nitrogen filled so it can handle any weather conditions you might experience. Backed by the Burris no questions asked Forever Warranty, you don’t have to worry when you invest in the Oracle X. Expected retail price is just $899 with models available for purchase in June - plenty of time to get comfortable with the Oracle X before fall hunts begin.
The wireless remote sets it apart from the competition. It can be placed anywhere on the crossbow within easy reach of your fingers for quick ranging. There are no wires to get caught in bow strings, cables, or accessories. With the included attachments there’s no worry about a lost remote either.
Our 2-7 variable power scope will not only range your target but also includes angle compensation bringing unequaled accuracy to your crossbow setup in shooting situations that crossbow hunters will experience in the field including tree stand and elevated blind hunting. The Oracle X, once a target is ranged, automatically calculates distance and angle and displays an illuminated pin at the exact point of impact. This pin will change to stay accurate throughout the zoom range of the scope so no matter what magnification you’re using you know the illuminated pin is exactly where you need to aim. The accuracy and consistency of the Oracle X is exactly what you need to make a clean, ethical shot.
Don’t leave your shot of a lifetime to chance. Get the Oracle X from Burris. Find what matters!

At about 8.25 he suggests using a 3rd truing point to improve accuracy. In sighting in the Oracle X I found if I did not use a 3rd SR point my arrow would shoot high at longer distances ( 50 yds +). I talked to tech support at Burris (very helpful) and the guy said to add a 3rd SR value. When I did this the scope was extremely accurate (shooting a Raven r10) at all distances out to 70 yds. My SR distances were 35 yds, 50 yds and 70 yds. 😀

You did a good job of explaining everything. Very concise. Thanks.

If you have a problem screwing in the battery cap get a 3/8 inch wooden dowl and cut it about 7 inches long. In one end cut a slot center line of the dowl the width of the saw blade so that the half moon flap on the cap will fit into the slot. This will make screwing in the cap much easier.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a more handsome specimen. This is what all Canadians should aspire to be.

I was concerned with shooting heavy arrows out of an old school speed ring scope, especially out to 40-50yd. Hopefully this will give me some good target solutions for the 23 season!

Great video, really steps through the setup. I have hunted with a rifle and bow in the past, and now (after an injury) will likely qualify for a crossbow permit in my state. With that I am seriously considering in selling a rifle or two and purchasing this scope with a budget model crossbow -getting into crossbow hunting full time. Accuracy is key and with this scope.. any crossbow should perform exceptionally. Thank you.

Jake, thanks for the video. I have just received my new scope. Watched your video multiple times and read the owners manual. You mentioned there will be a follow up video. I’d love to see a follow on video, explaining a detailed step by step…..I’m excited to use this scope on my ravin. Thanks in advance!

I think this scope is going to be a real game changer for me. My biggest concern about hunting with a crossbow, or a vertical bow, has always been ending up with a wounded and lost deer. Because of inaccurate range estimation. If this device continues to work as well as it did this morning my hunting is going to be much more fun because I'll know the range holder at the click, actually two clicks, of a button. I sighted it in for 20 with little problem and then went out to 50. It was already set at the factory to be within two inches the bullseye at 5o. I followed the directions and a short time later managed to drop the pin on to the bullseye. After a few shots accepted the setting and then fired a few more off the bench. Right on. And then, walked toward the target and shot again at a random distance. Right on. Not once did I have to fiddle with a hand held range finder. Next I'll back off to 70 or so and if it's on at that range will back out to 100 and verify the curve (trajectory) at that range. At this point, I think you guys at Burris have produced a product that will prevent a lot of wounding and lost deer. Nice job.

It has taken me a while but I finally can afford to buy this scope. I am going out next week to try and set it up. Did you ever make another video with a little more depth?
