I was rude to you years ago. Everyone liked you, I didn’t understand why I felt so bitter and negative towards you at the time but a couple of years later I did a bit of reflecting (always good to reflect!) the penny dropped and I realised I actually didn’t have anything against you, I was just jealous of you. I was jealous of your impulsiveness, I was jealous of your adventures, I was jealous of your intelligence and your amazing people skills. I was even jealous of your positivity.
Insecurity is one of the most destructive things, it takes on many forms such as envy, jealousy, anger, pride, arrogance and more.
About 3 years ago all the jealousy I had for you had disappeared and it was replaced with respect and admiration. You didn’t know it but you’ve actually helped me become a better person. I’ve changed the negatives into positive.
Now it pains me to see you like this, I can’t believe you had that accident. But you still have that amazing smile and that uncanny positivity.
You are a great person Fredo,
    Keep going 🙌🏻

What a raw, honest comment, I'd love to know who you are! Don't feel too bad about being rude to me, I've been rude to people too, we're all human. What's important is we learn from these experiences, which by the sounds of it you certainly have. I wish you all the best, but please do share your identity, as the mystery is painful! ❤️✌️

@@FreddotheWheelchairGuy I’m Steve Shelton, we worked for a bit at banana wharf. It was only a couple of months, most of the time we got on fine but back then I was grouchy and it was a rough patch because I was dropping out at uni and I didn’t know what my future would be. Thankfully I feel like I have a purpose now 😌. You made me a lovely drawing of a bass clef in the form of a moon, and a tree made up of musical notes 🥰. I still have that drawing.

We bumped heads a bit, but I always liked you. I'm glad to hear you have a purpose now and you're in a better headspace.

@@FreddotheWheelchairGuy I was just reading some of the replies and didn’t realise that your earlier vlogs were mainly for family and friends.. I got watching these short stories on how people ended up disabled and it always finished with them becoming inspirational talkers , transferring around their specially made units ( lucky for them really) with ease and always positive. Then I saw yours .... long beard , hair stuck a mile high bawling your eyes out saying you didn’t want to live this life and I have never been more shocked to see someone showing their true real pain and it hurt but it was also beautiful... I feel almost invested in your ability to keep moving forward even though I have never met you . I'm sitting here crying as you're last 2 videos have inspired me in many ways. My tears are of pain and happiness.
On march 10th 2021 I was shot in my back during a fight, I was paralyzed and my left lung collapsed due to the bullet fragmenting on my spine causing the fragments to spread and hit my lung. My brother was shot in his chest and stomach from point blank. I watched him bleed out and we told each other we loved one and other as we were swarmed by paramedics. That was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, I am my brother's protector and watching him in the pain he was in tore me apart for years. I still can't get that image out of my head. I have nightmares of it and it makes me have a horrible sleep schedule, I don't like sleeping because of it.
The person that did this plead guilty to murder and assault with a deadly weapon. The guy I was fighting was charged with sexual assault on a minor, the whole reason I was fighting him was because he had molested my sister-in-law's, little sister. His brother pulled the gun on my unarmed brother that wasn't even in confrontation with him.
Long story short. I have a lot of grief and weight on my shoulders that I can't seem to let go of. It's made me a miserable person to be around, as well as stopped me from doing things that I know I should be doing by now.
Thank you for inspiring me to do better as a person. And inspiring me to get off of my ass even if it hurts.

By being so brave and bearing all for the world to see and learn from you will of inspired so many newly and not so newly injured people and shown that being scared is ok and to be honest probably necessary to make the most of an incredibly challenging situation, crikey it's an entire new way of life that we have to learn. Another likewise paraplegic from Western Germany here: i can only back up your experiences (six years ago learning to tie a Shoe in bed with one Hand in half an Hour and than - drenched in sweat - being asked by the Nurse „and what‘s up with the other one“? - this is just my kind of humour and spirit).
And here i am now, back from a three day Festival, a week with my two Boys and heading to Berlin tomorrow (a 700km drive) and all by myself.
The only thing that cant be measured is personal growth - the progression may be slower for us, but nonetheless do we feel it and live the best of our lifes.

At College I did a (interior) design module, and one day we explored what needs to be considered for people with disabilities. One thing we did was blindfold each other, and one of my friends did not cope with it at all, we were in a real quiet area, but he was like: everyone is staring at me, although there was no-one there. I guess it is very much your personal perception, how you feel about a situation, and as well how people around you react to you, or what you expect how they will react to you. I guess around friends it is good, but people stare or do not know how to act around you. Your personal attitude and comfort within yourself will affect how people around you respond.
