You’re very welcome. I love being visually impaired. I have quite recently made a Facebook group, in attempt to make more more awareness. I would love if you would join facebook.com/groups/1130883450625753/?ref=share xxx
I like what you said in the video we can do anything that we put on mind of doing we just have to have the assistance to be able to do it with assistive technology.
Hi Larry! thank you so much for watching and yes, we absolutely can't do anything we put our minds to and we can live the life we want. Beach for all your dreams and goals! ☺️ 👍
One positive attribute, that I like about being blind is, I can tell if people are fake, or authentic, it’s kind of annoying, but I sure use it to my advantage😎
These are all good. We need as may if these videos as we can get because a many people only see the negative side of sight loss. It’s not easy not being able to see at times but it’s not like we can’t do anything. If sighted folks only knew how much we can do with a little training and modifications.
thankyou for this video, I recently lost an eye from meningitis and have been trying to find motivation, this video put me to tears...It is like a light at the end of the tunnel finally! And are there communities for visually impaired online, it is so hard to find one online.. God bless everyone!
Hi there! I'm so glad that you found this video and that it encouraged you. Please know that there are many people out there who are blind and visually impaired who are living their best life and yes, it can be hard. And yes, it is a process, but you will come out of it stronger. There are a lot of communities online. There are facebook groups for the blind and visually impaired. Some are as large as thousands, and some at hundreds. This is a very long list, but you can see if any of them are interesting for you. liveaccessible.com/resources/facebook-groups/ Also, if you use discord, you can join the Live Accessible Community Server - discord.gg/zarbkcB6 You can also attend some ACB events- here''s a list of upcoming events: www.acb.org/acb-community-events I hope that helps and I wish you all the best.
Hi Kerry I think one the the other positive things is the fact that you learn more skills as being visually impaired for example learning Braille and then people are curious about that
This is a good video. I was born blind, so if there was a way to get some vision I don’t think I would take it, because being blind is all I have ever known so I don’t think about it all that much. I think it’s so easy to focus on the negatives on any situation. I personally think it’s better to stay positive whatever the situation is.
I know a lot of different ideas on the subject. I'm really fine both ways.If I am blind, I am hapy, if I can see, I'll be happy too. You have a great outlook and thanks for watching!
Great video! I agree with all of these. I think my favorite thing about being blind has always been that I can’t see gross stuff. Never seen a gory scene in a movie, never seen a dead animal on the side of the road, and the list goes on and on
I saw your comment on my video and I have to agree: Great minds think alike! haha...Great video. It is so easy to find the negative things about sight loss, so it is important to find the positive ones as well! Well done Carrie!
Thanks Derek ,yes, we do! I love that we posted those videos, the videos really complements each other haha! I love your attitude and think you're very encouraging. :)
Very amazing well done and I so much agree as I only have light of perception left but I'm not your typical blind person or stereotype as I like to call it because I still go climbing and doing stuff
Thanks Richard! It is Richard Wright?yes, by your videos you seem like you really love to explore and do a lot of different things! That is so awesome! ☺️If I can ask, what's your vision on your right eye?
@@LiveAccessible yes my name is Richard my left eye I am fully blind Inn and my right eye I only have light perception left and have photophobia sensitivity to light I just refused to give him or give up where there's a will there's a way
A positive for me is that I'm blind since birth so I've never known anything different. Also if I wasn't blind I wouldn't be able to make half the amount of jokes I do
Hahaha! That's a great one Matt. I was born visually impaired so I never knew what it was like to really see, so can understand! And I love what you said about jokes. That is so true. Thanks Matt.
Thank you so much for the video! I have Usher's RP and low vision One of the things that I find positive is when I use my cane people get out of my way so I don't have to worry about people in the grocery store or in the airport they usually get out of my way and I also found that it gets you in front of a lot of lines!
Hi Carrie! This video is great! I love how you have the visual cues for each point and you speak so well and communicate your ideas so clearly and I really appreciate that! Great job! Corey
I don't mind my visually impaired because I can use my other senses and rely on my sense that sense is to be able to have a sense of good hearing I hearing really good and I depend on that everyday for everyday usage
That's exactly right! And that's a great attitude! ☺️ We may not be able to see, but we have other senses, and because we can't see, we pay attention to those other senses much more than everybody else I believe. ☺️ It can really come in handy too!
I agree with most of these. So I'm still cited I am technically legally blind and it has definitely gotten worse over the years. I have an older brother who is almost totally blind now. I know my eyes are getting far worse but something I'm just not recently starting to do is to reach out and try to join the blind community it makes me a little nervous because I'm so used to being to be quite honest stubborn and not liking change but sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone to grow. I mean I do a lot of things that people are surprised that I can still do with my limited vision and so does my brother that being said there's a lot of things that I just never learned or have not tried but as my vision gets worse I'm going to have to step forward and do these things.
Technology has definitely Advanced fairly quickly. A positive for me is the fact that I happened to become visually impaired in a Time great advancements for the visually impaired technology. Technology has definitely made my life much easier and I feel is helped me in dealing and coping with my visual impairment a lot faster. I have definitely noticed how not being able to see certain things can be a good thing at times. 3 years ago I had full site and my sister passed away. It was hard for me to go through all of that. 3 days after Thanksgiving last year my brother passed away and because of my visual impairment I was not able to see his photos in ceremonial displays and believe it or not I was grateful. It had made it much more bearable for me not to see. Each and every day I just try to see the positives in everything. The fact that I wake up breathing is A positive. Put it this way, if a doctor was that tell me there's a procedure that could give you sight back 100% but it can only be done once you have a choice either I fix your eyes or this complete stranger next to you with worse vision. What would you choose? I would definitely choose the person with the worst vision. I have accepted my visual impairment and if learned to see the positives more than the negatives. And this mindset well help me as I get older and my vision gets worse. I'm just grateful everyday for the site I still have.
I would like to see, but at the same time, I'm okay not seeing. I mean, if it was a choice like yours, I'd probably chose as you, but if it was more like you can with no consequences of that kind of nature, then i would. But if there was some kind of cost, I probably wouldn't. I mean, I'm okay where I am, I'm happy, but if I could see, it wouldn't hurt. Do you understand what I mean? I guess I'm trying to say I would be happy either way. Whatever life throws at me, I try to look at it from the brighter, positive side like you. Thanks Vincent!
It’s just came to mind, you are a UA-camr and I’ll visually impaired as well. How do you manage with setting up your camera and editing. As of right now my mum does it for me but the second I find out a way that I can do it myself then I will definitely be doing it
Hey! Well, I have some vision, but honestly I guess the back camera for quality purposes, so I have my phone mounted on a tripod and I just keep taking videos until I sit center as best I can. also you can use either voiceover or talk back and have it tell you where you are on the screen or where your faces I mean.another idea I had was that you can ask be my eyes to help you get in the right spot. So you are still using a person with site, but remotely. I do a lot of sit down videos so that's how it works for me. ☺️
Hi there. I use filmora right now though I am considering transitioning to another program. I use youtube to caption my videos since it has an auto caption feature.

Thanks Tita! Please share with the blind community in Philippines. ☺️
You dont have to see all your fears, and unpleasant things is a person is blind.
