  • Heartbeat Alaska: Angoon aired on March 7, 2002, and featured a profile of the Tlingit village of Angoon, Alaska. In order to combat the loss of Tlingit language, the local schools teach the language in the schools up through fourth grade. The youth can take advantage of the Youth Opportunity Program to stay away from drugs and alcohol. Vocational and cultural education is also included in the school's curriculum. The following people appeared on screen: Pauline Jim, Steve Plasse, Mary Jean Duncan, Elaine Jack, Albert Kookesh, Shianne Braley, Tonie Vonda, Lagemas Vanessa George, Scott Otterbacher, Lindsey Fredrickson, Vivian James, and Angela Kearns.
