Barney's speaking voice and his Napalm voice exist in two different dimensions

For the past 30 years I have been hearing how "controversial" Harmony Corruption was and how their old fans considered them to have sold out because of it and even here Barney speaks of it as a "mistake" and I'm fuckin sick of it. If it wasn't for that album, and the production on that album, I wouldn't have had the religious experience I got listening to it those first 10 times and I would have kept playing Testament and Suicidal Tendencies riffs. Harmony changed who I was as a person and how I viewed and wanted to write metal music. It serves as my home base when working out a problem with a riff. Morrisound turned that album into a monster that is still revered 3 decades later and Scott Burns deserves a lifetime achievement award for producing it. Everybody understands that Napalm is not a death metal band and that it was odd for them to record there, but for fucks sake there's nothing to be ashamed about, and certainly nothing to regret. The album rules, period. They returned to some of their roots with Utopia anyway.

Same here, Harmony Corruption was my introduction to them and grind as a whole

Agreed. Harmony Corruption is what pushed me from thrash into death metal, and to this day it's in my top 5 best metal albums of all time.

It doesn't really matter to me whether Napalm Death plays Grind or Death (hell, probably both), as long as the music remained fast and aggressive, that really the whole principle of it.

Strange, in retrospect, many people really love Harmony Corruption even though Napalm seemed to not like how it turned out. Mentally Murdered EP was amazing with both writing and production rawness, but overall, Harmony Corruption was a high point in retrospect.

Ah the infamous Scott Burns' treatment, obviously the record label's fault not SCott's....personally I love it as a fan just the way it is, but when you think of better produced albums its a shame, cause it really could've really been much bigger than that soundwise. and Napalm definitely deserved it, they are a unique band.

The truth is, Harmony Corruption got Napalm Death on the worldwide radar and also showed how elitist the underground mentality could be. Napalm have adapted their sound multiple times now, but ultimately it's still one of the better live shows you can see.

It was in agreement that old napalm used sound close to obituary back in the day. But there where signature trade marks that made napalm stand out and differentiated both bands. Me personally I felt it was a mix of carcass and obituary. Thats just me though.

Mick left late spring/early summer 91 so this was likely right when he was leaving cause they mention him jokingly here and said "Mick couldn't make it here today" & obviously before they had Danny.
