The empathy Elvis had for people was very evident. He was a thoughtful man

Elvis grew up in poverty but he never forgot his roots. He was a very generous man to people he didn't even know!

Beautiful song. Elvis grew up in poverty and never forgot where he came from or what it was like to be hungry and hopeless. He was so giving to others when he became successful.

I've seen documentaries and after his dad went missing (prison.) Going to ghetto life in Memphis from Tuppolo was a step up in life!Great reaction!❤️

Elvis was the first big star to bring poverty and ghetto challenges and realities to the nation. Elvis had a unique childhood. Born in the poorest ghettos, during segregation and the Great Depression. Came up in black and white ghettos and churches so his outlook on life was very different. He opened the doors of opportunity to many in the music field through social and business practices changes behind the scenes. His song is still very relevant today, sadly.

It is sad, but imo the parents are the ones to blame for. Don´t have a Baby in the first place if you´re not capable to feed it. Dead simple.

Doubt the father hung around and in those days it was hard to get done for raping you're partner!(just saying.)

You're such a thoughtful and compassionate young woman. It's a joy watching you discover the wonder of Elvis. Since gospel was his favorite type of music, I hope you'll check out (1) Elvis Presley - Peace in The Valley on The Ed Sullivan Show, 1957 (2:37) and (2) He Touched Me from the album ELVIS PRESLEY where no one stands alone (3:06). And for a young Elvis and his dance moves I recommend (3) Jailhouse Rock (Music Video) (2:44).
