Dark Souls II - Cool Boss Attacks That Are RARE
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- Dark Souls 2 is just full of secrets, you may blink once and miss them. Some of you may have seen these and some of you may have not, but yes, they are rare. Some you may not have seen cause you either won the fights too quickly or the attack is so slow that it can never catch you. So seeing the animations are nice sometimes.

I really like how it says COOL rare attacks and the first clip is just the last giant eating shit.
😂 damn
Hahahahaha 😂
So much swagger
Last giant: Mom that's my cool style, u can't change this
Twice in a row, no less
I feel like the last giant just tripped and tried to play it off as an attack
"No no, that was an attack, I swear! See, I'm doing it again."

HAHA Indeed
*Last Giant Trips and eats shit twice*
Ikr, when i went to kill the abyss watchers in ds3 for the third time they suddenly started doing longer combos that i haven't seen before
Every attack from covetous demon is rare: you don’t give it time to attack before he dies
Lol
I was like: “that’s not rare, that’s not rare, that’s not rare...”
Likely because the best memory I have of fighting it was being eaten as the first attack, and fighting it with the first weapon in my inventory (I think +0 broad sword)
I had a phantom but the fight still lasted a long time.
@@thaias9654 He doesn't remove your weapons tho.
@@Floaydi Man. He did in the video.
@@asdergold1 It un equips it. It's still in your inventory.
On my first playthrough I was a victim of Covetous Demon's bite attack and when I saw my gear "gone" I freaked out. I thought he literally ate my weapon, armor and shield. Turns out he just unequips all your stuff.
I still don't understand how that works.
@@inferior3199 undress for jabba the hutt
Which would probably be much better if the boss was fast enough to stop you from just putting it back on
@@inferior3199 The actual attack would be too strong, so they needed a different approach to keep his lore attack. (His lore: He's ugly that's why Myrtha rejected him, so he ate a lot)
If you break a pot in the air, a hollow falls out of them. The boss will ignore you and will use the same attack to eat him. The other pots are filled with poison and can be destroyed by you or the boss, but they will only poison you
@@quiringuenther6594 I think for the grab attack to be lethal is fine since it is rare and easy to avoid. Plus it would make more sense that he would digest you instead of eating your equipment. Actually he doesn't even do that. He somehow makes you put all your gear back in your inventory by chewing you?
Have you noticed how the Flexile Sentry has a lizard head and that "helmet" is actually neck protection and not a helmet
wtf you are right
Lol, don't know why I always thought that they were a big skeleton with 2 torsos! They are not even boned

I actually really like the poke from the pursuer as it makes great usage of his shield.
Yeah, I never actually realized that was why his shield had the notches on it
Its not rare attack though.
He does that one when you constantly dodge behind him OR attack him when he is doing his combo.

The ancient dragon flew into to the air so close to the edge, I wonder if he could fall...
Nah, there's a collision box around that whole platform- since the collision box doesn't affect the player, I assume it's like the one in the Pursuer's arena that keeps only him from falling, except vertical so it keeps the Ancient Dragon from straying behind the bounds of the arena.
he can fly, it would not make sense if he dies because of falling from the edge haha
@@panjipradiptaDS3 gargoyles die from falling but DeS ones don’t
@@panjipradipta There's a lot of flying enemies in the Souls series that can fall to their deaths
Usually enemies have an invisible wall that prevents them from falling on their own. Enemies can only fall when they are in an attack animation or pushed by the player (usually)
The Pursuer decided he needed a ranged attack too, he's been abused by those ballistas for far too long
I didn't even know the Demon of Song HAD a tail until now. I like how, even though there is absolutely no obligation or reason to behind it, From soft still added a tail attack just in case.

Same here.
Same but probably cause i have played DS2 way to much
@@keiganm1287 lol same
Most of these attacks are not rare in the normal sense of the bosses being set to rarely use them, most of the time the boss AI chooses attacks that are more effective against the player's relative position. So yeah, if you are at teh fitting position, the bosses might decide to spam those "rare" attacks. Well, except teh dragons maybe, those usually just spam their breath attack
@@Selnathorn Yeah, like the ancient dragon will spam the tail attack whenever you're around it's tail but pretty much everyone just swings at its toes so they would never see it, same with demon of song's tail attack.
That Flexile Sentry grab animation is hilarious, my god
Did the Lost Sinner and Sir Alonne PARRY AND RIPOSTE you? Well, I have never seen that. also have never seen the sick rotating slamming attack of the Pursuer neither that Baraka fatality-like grab of the Flexile Sentry

I think they dont use these attacks till higher new game +
@@TainyaGaming At least flexible definitely does it, NG, but a lot of people don't realize there's a rising water mechanic -shrug-
@@TainyaGaming nono, these attacks all happen in NG, they're just weird to trigger
In my case, Pursuer explodes and dark orbs start shooting you is much more rarer than that stabbing move
in fact this attack is not rare, it is quite common. the point is, he never performs that attack before you get caught by his grab atack, the blue shiny sword one
Yeah same here. Hes done the stabby attack in my every encounter with him and also the projectile attack but hes done the dark explosion attack 2 times in my 500+ hours of Dark Souls 2
I always fight the Pursuer by keeping some distance so that he spams his charging swing like no tomorrow. Makes him way to easy to beat as its easily punishable. That's why other attacks by him were super rare as the only ones I see him using most of the time aside from the charge are the blue sword grab and the 3 hit combo when you are close (he does it after I hit him). Lot of attacks need specific triggers and for the pursuer, you'll need to get stabbed by his cursed grab to make him use his magic. Others can be avoided by simple positioning.
There's another stab move where he does a third guarded stab. He also does those attacks often if it's not the boss version, especially if it is the one protecting that one chest.
Semon of Dong has a 5-6 hit combo.
Covetous can jump on his tail if you're behind him.
Love how so many of these are demon of song because all we did was stand in front of it and bait the same 2 attacks
Missed his 5-6 hit combo. It's legendarily rare.
Sir Alonne is the best boss fight in the game imo. The fact that if you get his health low enough without being hit , he performs a seppuku is cool.
Disagreed. Fume Knight is the best Boss fight in the game. He has a Phase 2 wich is rare in Dark souls 2 and the detail of him entering Phase 2 imediatly if you wear veldstads helmet shows how hes Bitter to this day that he lost to velstad in their duel. its amazing!
@@draw2death421 no one gaf if you disagree kidboy now make a comment about the fume knight and zip it
That Alva one remembered me of that one spongebob episode where patrick beat himself up
I've seen that ranged pursuer attack before because it killed ZeroLenny in his blindfolded run. Classic challenge runner luck.
The very first time I even saw the Pursuer, he was swooping down to that rooftop in Forest of Fallen Giants. I saw him in the air, got busy looking around for treasure/enemies, and got one-shotted by a laser from out of nowhere.
This was also my first death in DS2.
I don't think I saw that attack again the next 20 times I fought him.
Ashame a significant portion of these bosses die before they can even use these attacks unless you handicap yourself or are on high NG+ levels
I personally dont agree,Since these attacks are rare they will happen when you least expect it

Glad someone makes a vid on these, I remember freaking out when the Demon of song did that shit
Wow, you weren't kidding. I haven't seen a bunch of these. I presume it's partly because long-range Estus punishes typically involve specific fast, travelling attacks rather than projectiles or AOEs. Players also don't generally fight from such distances, or spend enough time on these bosses that they'll see everything.

Surprised this one wasn’t on here, but the sword beam that Vendrick can do I feel is rare. I’ve only ever seen it once. It may have been a new game + play through, but either way I’d fought him before. I walked in there all confident, and not 2 seconds after going through the fog gate did I get SLAMMED by a red/black vertical sword beam (looked like a getsuga tenshou for you Bleach folks). My brother was there at the time. He’s played the game FAR more than me, and he’d never seen that. I legit think I insta-died
The pursuer might the best ds knight boss, he might actually have the most amount of attacks in the series but he just spams the same 4 attacks over and over, such a shame, i hope someone does a mod that makes him perform all his moveset properly just how people have done with sekiro mods

Here's to hoping they bring him back for Elden Ring
Old dragonslayer starts off with that stab into throw attack each fight so i wouldn't consider it rare.
More like medium-rare
He also generally dies in about 10-15 seconds of the fight starting so I wouldn't be surprised if he has a lot of attacks I don't know
The grab attack is not rare at all, the real rare attack is when he shoots small dark orbs at you

@@bungiecrimes7247 true. The dragon outside of the cathedral is basically a skill test. If u know how to get past the bridge and kill it then u will have the skills necessary to dodge that attack.
Well, to be fair, totally not all of them are actually rare. I clearly recognized most of those moves and patterns. Though it's probably mostly because I have played and replayed the DSII for just this long.
Still, I was absolutely freaked out when I saw the Flexile Sentry's backwards scimitars stab attack with a propelling cut follow-up. Must hurt like hell.
I know EVERY pursuer attack. Idk why but he was the single hardest boss in the whole series for me the first time we met, probably 50+ deaths before I finally passed, it didn’t help that I encountered him before learning about the Last Giant, who i didn’t even discover until making it all the way to Sinner’s Rise
so RARE that the bosses do them even 3 times in a row, without editing

The covetous demon bite is not rare for me because it happen at least 6 to 7 times everytime I fight him

The Flexile Sentry's blender attack is maybe the coolest move in the whole game. Also it's a really nice touch that the Ruin Sentinel's shield gets stuck in the wall and stays there for the rest of the fight after they throw it.
The flexile sentry attack explains all of ds2
And lost sinner riposte animation. Though the DLC is a whole lot better fortunately.
How many secret attack want for Demon of song?

Nice to see DS2 still gets some nice content, just love DS2!
The "poke-poke-sweep" attack from the Pursuer is the bane of my existence. Every single time I dodge it like the regular sweep (cause the initial animation is vety similar) and end up eating shit

0:31 holy shit I just realized how similar this boss is to dragonslayer armour. That attack and the huge shield, not to mention how the ost sounds awfully similar to DA’s 2nd phase one.
Dark Souls 2 came out first, so you should give credit to it by saying how similar Dragonslayer Armor is to The Pursuer. The Pursuer's shield is in Dark Souls 3 ffs. Give credit where credit is due.
You realise what came first right?
Eh, they're not that similar. Yes DSA has a projectile attack but it has a totally different vibe to it, not just a casual windslash thrown your way. Other than that the only similarity is having a big shield.

The last giant stays on the ground for so long that for a second I geniunely though he wouldn't get up.
Me, having been killed by multiple of these attacks: haha yeah, never seen that one before
I saw almost everything except grabs and parries in the game. Except for the Song Demon and Vendrick.
In Vendrick's case, I understand he only uses this attack when the player is far away, but his arena is so small that his sword attacks cover half the arena. And even when he doesn't get it, he just starts attacking while running.
