The Milfanito are hands down some of the best lore in the game. They hint at a scale of things being canon for Nito that everyone can only speculate about for other major figures.
What i like is that this shows a glimpse to Nito's respect for the dead that got desecrated by Pinwheel and his necromancer cronies in DkS1. Nito desired to let the dead rest in peace, in comfort, away from the rabblings and drama of his fellow gods which rather unfortunately got shit on by pretty much everyone.
Fenito(agdayne+grave wardens), as well as the rotten, also having to do with nito (the former literally carrying what's left of his soul on Ng+) is also pretty cool

"wow it actually has to healthbars!" gets old pretty quickly. and playing with the bigger weapons is not fun, casting is pretty lame also IMO. if you play knight, nice. play without a shield? interesting. and thats it. its super linear, also, soy you need to do pretty much the same thing over and over even if you want to rush a build. and the zones are either... a gank or big knights. or why not both, like the fire witches. The bosses are great, though, but they get old quick.

DS2 SotFS will always have a soft spot in my heart. It was my first souls game and I poured so many hours into it. I actually just booted it back up to play through again. I miss the old days tho...playing with friends...
My first souls game, I bought it for 20 dollars back in 2015 and got hooked. Currently playing DS Remastered. I ended up getting the whole series from Demon Souls to Bloodborne, Dark souls 3 etc.
Personally, I love the wordless explanation in your videos. In a sense, even though you're sharing secrets, the lack of an explanation still gives viewers a sense of discovery.
Wow I didn't know Lucatiel took off her mask when we meet her in Black Gulch. Loved that bit. I like how DS2's NPCs have these subtle animation details when we interact with them. Also, man I love the NPC models of this game. They are pretty detailed. Reading through the comments, seeing so much DS2 love in 2020 deeply warms my heart.
DS2 is a beautifull game.. i wish they would remaster it one day and add even more various areas... so we can get even more lost in that cursed lands wandering there and fighting and forgetting why we even do that. To me whole game, characters, and your own journey feels like a fever dream.... especially when you forget why you do something or fight someone, like all those other characters... imho playing DS2 is how trully feels like it is to be undead.
@@DreamskyDance Agree! It felt very dream-like. A lot of strange things happening all the time (even for DkS standards) yet we naturally roll with it. I believe the studio won't touch DkSII (and III) in a very long time, if ever. But if it got a remaster or an update, at the very least it'd be great if they reworked the levels we already got in the vanilla game. The DLC ones were superb. I wouldn't complain if they added more memory-type levels to explore though (loved the giants' memories).
Also: Why no chime of want? I always thought it's the best chime for hexes if at +5 with dark infuse? Or does he use it because of fastest casting speed and easier upgrades because you only need regular titanite?
@@BPSentertainment It's kind of dumb tbh but that area in shrine of amana is locked behind a petriefed hollow. It's pretty much for lore reasons because the "secret" is that flame thingy. When you interact with the flame that the milfanito is praying, it won't do anything, but if you interact with it or "pray" when you have 0 human effigies and i mean NONE, not even in your storage, you get a free hollow restoration and it only works that way. And i say its dumb because pretty much no player will have 0 human effigies at that point and most of us would have to discard our humanities just to see it work lmao not worth it.
What they failed to mention about secret number 3: - The Mad Warrior armor set and Berserker Blade katana can only be farmed from the red invader enemy I.E. Prowler - Prowlers can be found in Belfry Sol and Brume Tower - Prowlers have a rare chance of spawning in Belfry Sol each time you rest at the bonfire and spawn infinitely - Prowlers spawn as invaders in the Brume Tower just before the Smelter Throne bonfire and require a Bonfire Ascetic in order to respawn - Each piece of the of the Mad Warrior as well as the Berserker Blade drop individually - You can only obtain the Mad Warrior Set and Berserker Blade Katana once every New Game Playthrough - You can only obtain the Bell Keeper set by reaching maximum devotion (Rank 3) to the Bell Keeper Covenant which requires to invade and kill 100 trespassers (Other Players) within Belfry Sol/Belfry Luna - Prowlers killed in Belfry Sol also count towards your “Trespasser” kills
What's the third one? I feel n explaination of what is happening in each would make this more understandable, but thanks for doing ds2 videos still, best souls
You can kill this red phantom over and over again to level up your rank of the bellkeeper covenant. He won't spawn every single time you reload the area though, so you have to climb the ladder and see if he spawned and if not, use homeward bone or aged feather or homeward miracle to reload area and climb the ladder again. If you have already killed EVERY enemy in the whole area (I mean from beginning of the castle all the way to the boss room) and all the enemies of the bellfry area enough times so they don't respawn anymore, you can use the miracle that detects nearby enemies (I think it is called "unveil") next to the bonfire and it will show you if the phantom has spawned. (If the eye spawned from the miracle just slowly rises into the air he has not spawned. If it rises fast and goes towards the ladder he will have spawned). If you need a better or more clear explanation let me know.
@@King_Firebrand Funnily enough i remember doing the same exact thing when i was farming the convenant awards years ago, thanks for the detailed explanation!

Nearly every area in ds2 has some bullshit to it. Forest of Fallen Giants: Spearmen with Godlike accuracy and tracking, they will literally slide around to hit you. (Tip: Avoid them) Earthen Peak: Claw Mannekins' infinite tracking, instant poise break and single frame charges. (Tip: R U N) Dragon Shrine: Big Kniggas with maces and warhammers with tons of damage and cancerously fast moves. (Tip: cheese the big knites with a bow, the dragonfellas will only attack when provoked and if you bypass the big dudes without killing them first, if you already have the ashen mist heart you can just walk past everything no problem tho.) Eleum Loyce: Same as Shrine of Amana except the enemies are now tough as fuck. (Tip: kill one by one, slowly.) Brume Tower: Same as Iron Keep but now the enemies get buffed and they jump towards you in a second. Also explosions. Cool little secret: This game is actually more enjoyable than DS3... This is not an offense to DS3 cus its definitely more well executed but DS2 tried so many new things and actually tried to be its own game while DS3 was like DS1 but good graphics and anime moves lol
Hmm i'm not sure i can agree with that. I'm not quite sure why you said ds3 is anime type of style. I mean for me ds3 it's like such improvement from the previous souls game such rendering, character detail, movement, and animation. There's alot of secret to in ds3. But they'r both such an awesome game. Can u tell me what kind of anime do you refering? No offense just want to know :)
@@unmercy2326 flashy moves/weapons... On bosses behalf aswell but thats not a critique cus its honestly part of why i like it since the other games didnt really do much of that.
If you can stand the tediousness of DS2 then sure, you will enjoy it more The problem with DS3 is every weapon that isn't straight/curved/great sword isn't viable, whips, fists (or weapons share the fists' moveset), spears, bows, maces, scythes, etc aren't viable or atleast aren't as good as the swords in this game, it's really sad that the bows are very bad compared to the bowblade from Bloodborne, which makes me think, did they actually test the weapons or not? The viability-range in DS3 is from useless weapon to good weapon The viability-range in DS2 is from broken weapon to even more broken weapon, which makes me ask the same question, did they actually test the weapons or not ? But i'll take a broken weapon over a useless one any time
During my first playthrough of DS2, I tried (and painfully succeeded) in killing Benhart and getting the "Moonlight Greatsword" that he had. It was good until its name got me worried. Maughlin is the guy who sealed the deal for me. I was so disappointed, it kind of hurt. Still, it was great, ended the playthrough with it as my main weapon.
Bought this game on steam summer sale a month ago, it-s my third run and was a little sad that I dont get as invaded or find PvP as commonly as in 2014... But i-m glad the game is still active and getting some love as it is not a bad Souls game, thx for your vid!
I picked up DS2 on ps4 about a week ago because it’s the only one out of the trilogy I hadn’t played yet, plus it was on sale for $10, and im so glad you’re still covering it even in 2020
You couldn't have just dropped the 43 Human Effigies somewhere in the Milfanito's room? I didn't think you had to discard them? Or does the game still recognize that as part of your stash if it is on the ground?
@Ray Dhimitri Hey, just wondering, did you try to bring Maughlin the "real" Moonlight Greatsword after this last line, just to see if he says anything about it ?
1 was the only one that I didn't know about bringing the Moonlight Sword to Maughlin. The rest I did. Thanks for this. Aw I love SOTFS , didn't even start with this game but there's just something so heart touching about this game, more so than any others. I still play it to this day, this and BB.
Heheh, noice. I actually recently restarted SOTFS with my friend a few weeks ago. I have a challenge 'cosplay' build that has spread out stats to wield every weapon/armor combo of enemies and npc's.
I love DS2 in a lot of ways it doesn't feel like Dark Souls game, kinda like dark souls is berserk and 2 is Lord of the rings. Both are great and they should make another game based on ds2 just not call it a souls game because Ds2 feels like it on separate thing from 1 and 3.
so what i get from the last clip is that you can either get her soul by gathering 50 loyce souls, or you can do it way faster and just kill her with arrows, is that correct?
I've put 500 hours in this, included with dlcs but obv not with SotFS, even though that's what it says on box. Ds1 however prob 1000 hours+, that level design doh
I dont understand, you have to sacrifice 43 human effigies at the shrine of the milfanito just to get your humanity back? Is it given back permanently? Because normally just using 1 human effigy will restore your humanity, so i dont see where the value in the transaction is?
Fan service even the guy who uses the greatsword is a reference to an npc from dark souls 1 but if you want a lore reason the guys title is the knight slayer so he could have killed raime(fume knight) and took his weapon but that would make him the protagonist of dark souls 2 which we cant prove because theirs no lore about him
@@randombypasser7459 I know I'm 6 days late but I heard somewhere that ds3 is more free with how time works so the dude in ds3 could have killed the fume knight by himself and our protagonist just never went there I guess

The Milfanito are hands down some of the best lore in the game. They hint at a scale of things being canon for Nito that everyone can only speculate about for other major figures.
Pyre I also like them because they hint that nito was a milf
What i like is that this shows a glimpse to Nito's respect for the dead that got desecrated by Pinwheel and his necromancer cronies in DkS1. Nito desired to let the dead rest in peace, in comfort, away from the rabblings and drama of his fellow gods which rather unfortunately got shit on by pretty much everyone.
The writing in Dark Souls 2 is very underrated in a lot of aspects and the Milfanito are the best example of this.

@@justanotherblackwhitemicke7817 true, strangely I still think 3 is the best to repeat, maybe it's because the gameplay is the most refined, and the weapons and bosses end up making everything more interesting
@@usuratonkaichii i find 3 to be very uninteresting. it is a one playthrough experience.

8:56 And what was the cost to restoring your Humanity? Well, it would appear to be all of your Human Effigies, _AND ALSO MY EYES._
I didn't understand the secret to this one tbh.
@@ziggyberts you have to "Git bad" or give them all away To need that. It's neat that they have a backup for that situation.
What they failed to mention about secret number 3:
- The Mad Warrior armor set and Berserker Blade katana can only be farmed from the red invader enemy I.E. Prowler
- Prowlers can be found in Belfry Sol and Brume Tower
- Prowlers have a rare chance of spawning in Belfry Sol each time you rest at the bonfire and spawn infinitely
- Prowlers spawn as invaders in the Brume Tower just before the Smelter Throne bonfire and require a Bonfire Ascetic in order to respawn
- Each piece of the of the Mad Warrior as well as the Berserker Blade drop individually
- You can only obtain the Mad Warrior Set and Berserker Blade Katana once every New Game Playthrough
- You can only obtain the Bell Keeper set by reaching maximum devotion (Rank 3) to the Bell Keeper Covenant which requires to invade and kill 100 trespassers (Other Players) within Belfry Sol/Belfry Luna
- Prowlers killed in Belfry Sol also count towards your “Trespasser” kills
