When I think about the greatest long range passers in modern history, I think of Xabi Alonso, Andrea Pirlo, Steven Gerrard, and Toni Kroos, but this guy is probably better and more consistent than all of them. Pings, crosses, whatever, Beckham could put the PERFECT weight and shape on a ball like few others. Elegant & exceptional technique. A pleasure to watch, that is for sure. Trent Alexander-Arnold is now the best long distance passer in the world since Kroos' retirement. But I am a Liverpooll fan and watch just about every match. While Trent has the magic, he is yet to reach the consistet accuracy of Beckham. Not yet at least. And I kind of doubt he will, given Beckham's skill at picking a long range pass. Thanks for the video Mr. Bundesteam.
This is the best comment in this video section. You also did the same in the earlier Zidane video. Nothing else to add on. Complete and accurate assessment. 👍👍👏👏
He played with Rudd Van Nistlerooy like who was just about the best finisher out there. obviously the likes of Eric Cantona, Owen, Solskjear, Cole, Yorke, Sheringham, Raul, Ronaldo aren't so bad either.
the angle at 2:35 is crazy, shows how difficult that pass is but somehow found that player. Seeing football from the top down doesnt give justice to some of these passes
I will base my judgement from 1998 onwards. David Beckham is the best long range passer, the best crosser and the best freekick taker ever during this period. His striking technique and curling of the ball is the absolute best. Watch carefully on UA-cam the old videos of Beckham when he was at Man Utd and Real Madrid. When it comes to taking freekicks and corners and whipping in crosses, nobody beats him. Not even legends like Ronaldinho, Zidane, Figo, Juninho, Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, Pirlo who are all freekick masters in their own way. And the amazing thing is his consistency like some viewers commented. 👍👍👏👏
@@sheerenergy8602 I agree with your comment. The thing with Juninho may be his range. But still, Beckham is the living example of Magnus Effect. How he swerves the ball with absolute, uncanny ease. He is a master of that art.
@@rizen9929 Bro, I understand and respect your opinion. It is your right to either disagree or agree with my comment. But my answer remains the same as my main comment. From 1998 onwards, David Beckham is the best long range passer, best crosser and best freekick taker for me. Ronaldinho is the ultimate entertainer because he has bag of tricks.
@richardthantzin1229 Thats what makes R10 the greatest. Not only was he the most skillfull but he'd make passes like DeBruyne (sometimes even better) and then go on to shoot like cristiano ronaldo. And don't let me get into his free kicks. Pure genius. Even Beckham himself would admit he's the best free kick taker. So like I said all combined in one. GOAT. It's a crime not to convert every single one of those passes into goals. And these passes are also a big reason why I put Beckham in my all time favorite XI, doesn't matter how many more midfielders I liked since him, he's always my favorite, alongside Zizou and Kroos. Thank you for making a video of great passes of him.
One thing that hurts my brain about Beckham's long passes, is that he does not look like he's putting all that much power into the kicks, but the ball always exits with so much power and speed, no to mention the accuracy into space, and an ever deceiving bend. I really don't get it. Its like he's breaking the laws of Physics.
Watching Beckham in the MLS was painful because so often the movement and ability to receive the ball of the other players let him down. Landon Donovan was actually going to be where he was supposed to be and carry a threat, even if he missed on a lot here.
Thank god the top comments already mentioned how bad Donavan was at finishing all those amazing chances created for him by Beckham. The main takeaway from this video is that Landon Donavan is the most horrific finisher of all time or he was deliberately missing chances created by Beckham for some unknown and bizarre reason..
Need good connection between passer and finisher to create chance for goal, and Beckham's skill or instinct or whatever alwas knew what kind ball needed for his teammate #legend
